Yea they go back and forth within a couple of days. I have no idea why either, my shipping was like that also. Definitely a tease lol.

 

Guys, I've been tracking my laptop (2nd day shipping) and it cleared customs on 12/15. UPS was suppose to deliver it today, but it DISAPPEARED. UPS will not comment and simply told me to ask Lenovo to start a tracer. This is so frustrating....

Anybody have a t61 that left Anchorage on the 15th at 7:25 p,m. ?? There has been no updates in almost 72 hours .... am thinking if nothing gets updated by this evening, I will call UPS to see if they can offer any wisdom. I haven't read anything in the paper about a flight being lost that day . . . .

I'll do a review when I have time, but I got some deadlines coming... I think by the time I get around to it, yours will hopefully be in your hand for you to make your own judgements. I'll make a new thread with my first impressions though.

Did you have 2nd days shipping or standard? What state is your computer suppose to be at?

Mine entered Anchorage, AK and was immediately dispatched to Ontario, CA. My hold up was at Ontario, CA so I believe it was delayed at custom there and was never passed through customs at Anchorage. It was held at at status IMPORT SCAN and UPS does not have any control or information about that until customs releases it back to UPS for delivery.

I would recommend calling UPS immediately and just see what they say. They can tell you if your package is with customs. Did it miss your expected delivery date? If it does, you can have Lenovo put a trace on it and they can backtrack the package from HK.

 

Best I can tell is that it went in/out of Anchorage w/o any customs and was to have landed in Kentucky. I assume customs would be in Kentucky. It left Alaska on the 15th and according to the scans . . . . it never landed. Hmmmm. I will give UPS a shout tomorow morning if nothing gets updated overnight.

 

Yeah.. the whole customs thing delays everything, and there's no tracking because its not part of the UPS system... it is strange that you did not get in import scan at kentucky.

been waiting for the T61 all day ... since 9:a.m. !!! Still find myself looking out the window from time to time ... The UPS site shows that it is out for delivery ...... I think UPS closes up at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully no more than a 3 hour wait from this point .. .. .

This was a very fast delivery, especially given the holiday volume at UPS.

I am a long-time user of the A31p -- I have gone through three of them over the last four years and I really liked them. So far my impression of the T61p is good. The display is not quite as nice as the A31p but it is still very good. The keyboard is also different but good. I am a little concerned as IE has already locked up twice, but that may or may not be the machine.

One thing I notice is that the area where my right hand rests is very loose and flexible. I am guessing that when they do not install a fingerprint reader there is some open volume in there. They really should put some rubber or foam in that spot as it makes the product feel cheap. If I can figure out how to open this beast I will do that myself.

It's good to know lenovo is shipping notebooks out faster now. The guy that started this thread had to wait over a month before they shipped

 

I got a tracking number but no scheduled date for delivery. It is 2 day UPS express service, but I'd just like to know if it's going to be here tomorrow or Friday.

I actually got it in one day. Shipped 2/13 and came 2/14. It was awesome cause I had to film a video and edit it by Friday 7PM. This thing flies. I was amazed at the rendering time. T9300 rocks!

We'll see how fast this comes. I'm really looking forward to getting it. I have an old R40 that is quickly dying. I recall that back in Jan. 2004, my R40 took nearly 3.5 weeks from ordering to getting the package, but I hope that this follows the recent shipping trends.

Update: at the rate this is going, it could be just 6 days from order to at my door. This is a customized build, and there's a weekend in there, too. So far so good!
