Indeed I did, but from what little info they gave in my cancellation, they indicated it was a credit card issue. Will update tomorrow.

I'd be pretty upset if they cancelled my order especially when the ship date is on the 12th. -
-
-
-
Mine is still "Released to Manufacturing" and the apparent shipping date is in two days....anyone else like this?

I just ordered a T530 with HD screen. On the website it says 15.6" HD (1900 x 1080) LED Backlit AntiGlare Display, Mobile Broadband Ready... Is this HD or FHD? Now I'm worried I might receive the crappy 1366x768 screen. What should I do if I do receive the lower resolution screen? Is this supposed to be Lenovo's mistake?
-
Just contact them.
Are You also take nvs 5400m? -
It's a simple solution: find someone who can change a "0" to a "2". But I think that they must be leaving it that way on purpose, or maybe they made it like that on purpose to begin with. -
The FHD is the third (last) option, which also carries a $250 upgrade fee from the HD.
Cancel the order. -
-
Mine is marked as 'Shipped' today. Tracking number and everything.
Shanghai - Export scan
China - Processed and ready for UPS -
-
My T430s is allegedly shipping tomorrow.
-
-
My T530 that I ordered on 6/6 was shipped today. UPS says I'll be getting it this Friday

-
Xeroday You have version with nvs 5400m?
-
-
when configuring the w530, there are these options:
Color sensor
- No Color Sensor
- No Color Sensor with/Bezel [add $0.00]
whats the diff? -
^^^ First option: the palmrest has no provision for color sensor at all, looking nice. Second option: the palmrest has a rectangular "hole" that is filled with a rectangular "bezel," presumably allowing one to install a color sensor later, looking not so nice.
Personally, I would rather order option 1 if I do not need the color sensor, and order color sensor (factory installed, through that "hole") if I do need one.
Anyway, this did happen to me over two years ago: I ordered NO color sensor, and Lenovo shipped my laptop with a palmrest WITH a "bezel" in it!!! -
yeah, but there is no option for having the color sensor at all, its only those two options, so why even leave a bezel hole?
-
Anyway, Lenovo config pages are never famous for being consistent or logical. Most W5X0 config pages do show "color sensor."
See that "bezel"? -
-
My T430 shipping date was supposed to be today but I do not think it is shipping today. I chat with an agent and he told me one interesting piece of sh.. that the ship date means that the machine ships anytime during this week and not the specific date, really?!

The new ThinkPads come with "MiniDisplayPort with audio" Can someone translate this to me into real-life utilization in some detail?
-
-
-
HDMI and DP already carry sound through their cables, so no additional 3.5mm audio jacks are needed. -
-
Honestly, I do not see the value of this sh... port and it would be smart to put an HDMI port instead. Apple finally acknowledged that and added it in their new Retina Display MacBook Pro. Correct me if I am wrong regarding if this mini-DP carries certain advantage/utilization for a wide array of customers
-
-
And the current spec for HDMI only allow up to 1080p resolution while DP allow higher. If you want to connect it to you 30" monitor you need 2560x1600. -
HDMI is less usefull than mDP. mDP and DP ports are technical better and cost less than HDMI. It is also more a consumer than a business-standard. mDP is also smaller than HDMI.
-
-
Maybe Lenovo is thinking that mDP is winning on the market, so they went that way. There are also many existing converters for mDP to any other monitor port. And mDP is thinner, DP is to thick for an Ultrabook like the X1 Carbon. Maybe they wanted to have a unified port on all ThinkPads.
-
-
hdmi is the common consumer standard for TVs, but mDP is the new standard for monitors as they require higher bandwidth for higher resolution.
-
-
They are not as stupid as you think. -
The odd thing for me is that my Paypal payment is still pending.
-
DP is the replacement for DVI and VGA. HDMI is the replacement for Component. HDMI isn't really common outside of consumer notebooks and HDTV's.
mDP is smaller than DP, and it fits on more notebooks. I think that Lenovo wanted a unified digital video port across all Thinkpads, and because they are releasing Thinkpad ultrabooks where full DP won't fit, mDP won out. Also, mDP is the port for Thunderbolt.
Also, there are mDP-DP cables. No need for an adapter. -

Hello
i orderedW530 with no optical drive and a 500GB 7400RPM Hard Drive and 4G memory.
Also I ordered from best buy Corsair - Vengeance 2-Pack 16GB 1.6GHz DDR3 SoDIMM Laptop Memory Kit to upgrade the memory. Is this the right one for w530?
should I buy another 4GB memory to make it 24GB?.
Is there any suggestion for the hard drive
Thank you
Corsair - Vengeance 2-Pack 16GB 1.6GHz DDR3 SoDIMM Laptop Memory Kit - CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 -
i think you need to keep it even 8-8-8 or 4-4-4
-
1. DP supports higher resolutions compared to HDMI.
2. DP can be easily converted to HDMI, DVI, or VGA.
3. Mini-DP is smaller compared to DP, which is necessary for the Ultrabook-ish ThinkPads, where space is at a premium.
As far as the VGA adapter - it's not for users who have notebooks with VGA. Several of the thinner systems no longer come with VGA out. The adapter is for them. -
Lenovo is also trying to move onto thunderbolt with this mDP switch too.
