only thing is that my quote lists the OS language as "spanish"...reps told me i must wait till monday to contact xxxx to fix thisotherwise, it's an awesome deal! =)
-
What's your config and est ship date?
-
non-tablet x220: i5-2540, home prem (spanish!
), IPS screen, 2GB RAM, fingerprint reader, webcam, 250gb 5400rpm hdd, 9 cell battery, advanced-n 6205 wireless
$867.51 before tax -
I have some other question, but your pm function isn't active yet. Could you please send me an email to [email protected]?
Thanks in advance. -
I emailed lenovo about the "SPANISH" OS and hope they get that fixed. Wonder how many will get that who only speak English ?
-
and what is your estimate ship date
u ordered today (23/05) right? -
The OS issues look to be fixed. Win Pro doesn't make the config invalid anymore and Win Home is in English.
-
-
Redo ?
I did a redo on Lenovo sales site, not phone and it still came up SPANISH even today. Lenovo has got to gets it's act together and proof read this stuff before clicking on "All Done-Time to go home button" -
-
Redo.
They made me cancel the first order and do another one. -
estimated ship date says 5/13, but i haven't yet placed the order (only a quote atm).
-
I just placed an order today and the estimated ship date is 5/13. I ordered with i7 Processor and Win7 Professional. Note sure if people getting long ship estimated are ordering i5 Processors. Maybe there low on those.

If you order an X220 with 2GB memory, is it likely to be on one stick or two?
-
Basically, you shop through lenovo corporate perks website. Add in card, then checkout as guest.
You start off with same pricing as lenovo.com/student or share holder program. After your cart is done, apply code LENOVOVIP which gives you 15% off. You can't apply both 5% off code and this together, so don't try to apply the 5% off code.
During final checkout as guest, to thank xxxxxx in optional rep ID so he gets some commision.
I finally ordered wife's x220 with i5-2520, Win7 home 64 (english), IPS screen, webcam, bluetooth, intel wifi 6205, and the sleeve, all for $834.61. It would have costed me $933.56 if I shopped at lenovo.com/student with 5% off.
As for the x220t, I still couldn't beat the costcentral's price for the i5 model with 3 year warranty. If you only need 1 year warranty, then you can get i5, no fingerprint, bt, webcam, wifi 6205, 4gb ram, 250gb hdd for $1181 from lenovo's corporate perk site. -

Tried the suggestion and thank you
Cost me less than my returned T420 with the sale + code. Many thanks again -
Thanks. -
BTW, I posted a new thread at slickdeals.net about this deal. Search for x220 there if interested. -
Is it possible to buy an X220i with the Premium HD option and 9-cell for ~$700?
I am a college student if it helps. -
Why don't you go for the i5 and some upgrades (bt/wifi) for $800?
You'll be using this laptop for at least 3 years. Think of how much you spend on dining/drinking/starbucks/smoking. I'm also a student. For $100 more, I think it's well worth getting an i5. The CPU itself is $35 difference after 15% off, factoring in Windows 7 Home Premium, but you will appreciate the performance. Even if I didn't do anything serious, I would still get a i5 over i3.
Anyways, here's a link to slickdeals that I posted.

Are you guys buying warranty for it or just gambling with the 1 year basic to save money?
-
I'll add 3yr warranty when the first year is almost up. Same price now or later.
-
Are you sure and can prove it or you're just assuming? -
It's $3 more at cost central vs doing it now at Lenovo.

You get 15% discount (or whatever discount coupon you used) on warranty too if you add it while ordering from lenovo.
I think thiknkpad x series are built well so I'm going with 1 year. For the tablet, since it has more moving parts, I'm opting for the 3 year warranty. My wife's x61s had no problems over the 4 years. I did replace her keyboard last year just because the key caps were getting shiny. -
Thanks to hp79, canceled my first order and reordered it identically, but $875.16 (25% off) vs. $923.78 (20% off). Mysteriously the est ship date is 5/13 for the new one vs. 5/16 for the original.

Wow on Slickdeals just wow.
-
It was actually 26.5% discount on corporate perks. It had an e-coupon that's expired yesterday and not there any more
-
-
I'm in a shock how good of a deal I ended up getting. Was expecting to pay $1100 a few weeks ago.
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Going by Slickdeals would only save me $50 off my current deal, and no $10 3 day shipping.
-
Jarrett, we had the exact same deal. Only $50?! That's more that covers the difference between 4gb vs. 8gb, etc.
I still got $10 2-3 day shipping on the new order. After you generate a quote with hp69's method, just go on chat and ask them to apply the $10 shipping. I did the new one through Mo too since he handled the original order. -
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
i5-2520M
Downgrade to Home Premium
IPS Screen
Intel 6205
Everything else was stock. No Webcam, bluetooth, larger hdd or ssd, fingerprint reader, larger or slice battery, or longer warranty.
Also the first X220 listing has shown up on Amazon. -
I want play Starcraft 2 and I understand it SHOULD run fine on low. However, has anyone found any actual numbers on the benefit of upgrading to the i7 2620 over say the i5 2540 in regards to gaming performance?
If it would substantially increase my FPS in Starcraft 2 I would gladly pay the extra money. -
Are you allowed to cancel an CTO order from Lenovo if it hasn't shipped?
-
Hey guys, should I buy the ultrabase or the mini dock if I want to connect the x220 to an external monitor, mouse, keyboard, and dvd drive?
-
I'm curious why no one interested to upgrade for the WWAN Card.
No one use it? or you guys tend to use the usb dongle instead -
-
im about to order my x220
but the thing is im leaving the state on 13 or 14 may
do u think i should take a risk?
this is such a good deal i'm afraid that it will be gone after some time... -

I have noticed that almost no one is ordering with the 9 cell, I understand that it sticks out of the back but it is only about 10 dollars and gives 15 hours of battery life. Why is no one else getting this?
Does anyone know how much the x220 weighs with a 9 cell battery?
Thanks -
I've heard too many complaints from customers that order just before they are to go on a trip and either have to cancel their trip, have someone home to sign for it or cancel the order.
Though Lenovo many times ship out the order before the stated ship date on the order, there could be delays in part shortages causing the ship date to be extended.
My ship date for a the X220 is Now May 11th, 2011 and I take that as a guess only. Could be sooner or perhaps later.
Good luck -
hi vignesh,
how can you just cancel your order? DO they charge additional fees for cancelling orders?
I also would like to reorder, I called the customer service number but they are closed on weekends.
-
Now for the Ultrabase, do I have to buy the DVD drive separately? -

Lenovo Support - ThinkPad Battery 29 (4 cell) ThinkPad Battery 29+ (6 cell), ThinkPad Battery 29++ (9 cell) - Overview
The 6 cell doesn't stick out, it's not as tall either, plus it still gives a lot of battery life. If the 9 cell upgrade was more expensive then it is I doubt they would sell a lot of them. -
It's also pretty ugly, the 9-cell on the x220 isn't symmetrically placed like in the x120e -
-
Thanks, vignesh. I got it.
-
by the way, how did u get 2-3 shipping for 10$, i saw it is 25$ on the web. or do i need to talk to mr.xxx
