When is your T400 expected to ship?

Yeah I was contemplating calling about something but it shipped before I decided. Oh well, it's a removable $30 part!

I susupect they simply weren't prepared to make timely assembly/shipping at the time they first started taking orders. Most people who ordered 8/26 and on seem to be getting their orders shipped within a week.

I ordered online, never contacted CS.

 

My guess is that it's something with the configuration that's getting them shipped out earlier. Mine's upgraded but still relatively basic:

ATI 3470 discrete graphics, P8600, 14.1 WXGA+ LED display, 6-cell battery, 5300 wireless, 2GB RAM (2 1GB SO-DIMMs), no bluetooth, home premium, cd-rw, 100GB 7200rpm drive, pc-card/express card slot.

I've seen a few people that are waiting for theirs to ship ordered the 9-cell battery? I seem to remember with the T61 that there was a shortage of bluetooth modules, maybe that's a problem again?

In any case, I just ordered the machine and never called about it.

 

Mine was fairly loaded. From what I've read here and elsewhere it does seem that the 9 cell battery may be the root of many delays.

 

Mine is showing delivery date of 9/5, man I hope that's true!!!

 

I called to inquire about my order because I was getting terribly jealous of similar systems ordered after mine that have already been received. Apparently there was a fire in their warehouse in China and has caused with some of the delays. Apparently my order is confirmed for the new date two weeks later than originally expected.

Still disappointed I have to wait the full extension though...

 

I ordered mine on 8/21 with a 9 cell battery and a bunch of other upgrades and the site says estimated shipping is 9/4 which is today but when I called up Lenovo they said its pushed back to 9/12!! I threatened to cancel the order if its not shipped by the 12th. They should atleast inform the customer of a delay!

That's the same thing mine did. It left Hong Kong, bounced off Incheon, Korea and the next stop was Anchorage. You should see it in Anchorage some time today (assuming it's shipping to the US!).

Well, it was just delivered 10 minutes ago I wasn't expecting a package at 9AM!

I can't quite say how long it took from Incheon to Anchorage to where I am because I don't know if all the time zones agree, but it was less than a day I think from Incheon to here.

Seems UPS EXPRESS shipping always deliver the machine in the early morning?!

 

I'd just like to add to those who got a speedy delivery. I placed my order late in the day on 8/25 and as of this morning (9/5) it was already in NJ (delivered over night from Anchorage and then KY). I live in NYC so hopefully I will be able to enjoy my new T400 when I get back from work.

 

I would have taken it off your hands I still get a 2-3 weeks before it is shipped message when calling in.

 

They did for me. First attempt was at 9:22 am. I was in the shower and missed them. The second attempt was the next day at 8:50 am. I was ready for that one.

 

I missed their calls for the past week too.....just got the call today.....say they were ready to expedite as soon as I reorder it since my original order on the Aug 5th was canceled due to credit card problem

Mine is still showing a delivery date of 9/9.... but it arrived about half an hour ago! Needless to say, I'm happy.

It's everything I hoped. I don't notice any flex in the palmrest or in the keyboard -- and I've been using a T40 for the last 5 years.

I hope everyone who's expecting their laptop gets theirs soon!

I stepped out for some dang errands after staying home ALL MORNING waiting on the delivery, they "attempted" delivery at 2:11pm. Missed them by less than 1/2 hr and had even left a note. Of course it's an "in person" signature requirement. Guess I could have worked the 1st half of the day since "Expedited" doesn't mean crap to every UPS delivery...

Ahh well, tailgating at the OSU game anyhow so no time to play with it this weekend anyhow. GO BUCKS!!!!

Mine went through Kentucky. I think that might be where UPS does their customs check.

It was a bit slow at first, but after removing some of the crapware it runs great. I love mine, it was good purchase. =)

Also, I've since installed an Hitachi 7k320, 320gb, and it runs fast as hell!
