    Hey guys,

So I just replaced my TN panel with LP156WF4(SP)(D1) and now it seems like the bezel is pushing on the screen on the top left corner causing a small light bleed. Has anyone experienced this problem?

How's this display with gaming? Any lag or ghosting? Or not noticeable?

So far the screen has just been phenomenal, been playing, wow, dota2, hon, and have had no issues at all. The colors and angles are extremely great.

Also, Dota 2 is the game I play! What's your steam name?

Ah, good though on device manager. I have been using standard settings, for what it's worth. I am also not that picky with colors n any case.

I am having the exact same problem, I have it on the top right corner. Not sure of the right solution. It seems the bezel is putting pressure on the screen causing the light bleed.

From the experience of other users it seems that IPS panels have some sort of "warming" period where you can experience ghosting, burn in and light bleed.
Maybe it could be one of these issues (that settles naturally after some use).
If not the case, just remove the bezel and check if it is really pushing... if so, use some sand paper on the inside of the bezel, you should be able to thin it a bit.

Theres definitely no ghosting at this point. If I take off the bezel the bleed goes away and once i put it back on its there and i cant stand it...haha. I thought about sanding down the bezel but after inspecting it, the bezel is quite thin already.

Yes, you are correct, a few people has mentioned this multiple times, your basically "upgrading from a bad screen to a mediocre one."(they cost about the same as well) If you go the LG route. I get the feeling people are not taking the time/ too lazy to read the thread. Few pages back someone asked which is better, directly under my previous post in which I addressed just that, heck some people didn't even read the original post to this thread for information before posting... My guess is people are either not reading the thread and doing their research, don't care for color coverage and just want viewing angles, or they are having trouble finding the AUO ones and are going for the next best thing.

Please refer to this thread that has a direct comparison of the two models, by someone who actually used a Spyder4Pro colorimeter to measure the sRGB. http://forum.notebookreview.com/toshiba/724954-p50-review-5.html

For those too lazy to click, summary:
    LG LP156WF4 - 78% sRGB
    AUO B156HAN01.2 - 96% sRGB

I wonder if people are turned off by the AUO simply because for many of them, it's an AUO TN panel that they're unsatisfied with in their Y50 in the first place.

Fwiw I ordered the LG because laptopscreen didn't have any auo 1.2s in stock, even though the page says they are. My order was canceled on me cuz I specified to send only that and not a compatible screen. So I ended up ordering the LG.

or simply because the screen that they want can't be sent to where they are located, or the "compatible screen" issue which is unnerving.

they are the same monitor afterall, but glossy tends to be better because the colors won't be altered by the antiglare that a matte screen has. But if you plan to bring the laptop anywhere on a sunny day, you won't be able to see much because it's reflective.

    in other words:
Glossy = better clarity but not good in the sun
matte = better on sunny days, but less clarity anywhere else.

    same doubts here too..

I am in india.. wll they ship here too?( http://www.laptopscreen.com/ )
I need a glossy screen. So only the first and third options are the ones to buy. The third one is out of stock leaving only the first option. Are there any differences between the first and third options?
    Thanks

i didn't notice this detail, and I'd like to know as well.
I am guessing that wide view means wider viewing angles. but take this as my personal opinion, not specific info.
then why are you even asking? if the first one is the only one you can get, why not get it?

surely a quick Google search cannot be of help.

If you want the glossy equivalent of the AUO B156HAN01.1 and 1.2, then the one you want is the 3.0

    AUO B156HAN03.0 Overview - Panelook.com

Also, if people are still looking for the 1.2, from what ive read they have been discontinued, and the 1.1 is the replacement. 1.1 for matte, 3.0 for glossy

the 3.0 isn't an option for the y50, it has a 40 pin connector.

Do you know anything about the wide view and "normal" view? is there any difference?

I think lots of people bougth the screen before the AUO reply came out.
    So did I.

However, in a couple of month I think this thread will figure a good list of screens.

ah yah I guess there are a few early adopters that got the LG, but even so. There has been questions about the LG screen quality as far back as june 27th and since then lot more information has been posted, yet there is still quite a bit of recent "confusion" comparing the the two still...

Should be under Device manger > monitors > events tab, I believe. The monitor ID should change once you swap panels, but it might not show right away.

"Wide view" I believe is referring to viewing angle (IPS). Normal (TN)

Can we switch the screens between Y500 FHD and Y50 FHD?
I have the Y500 and willing to get the Y50, a screen swap would be wonderful.

    --------EDIT------
    No we can't :(
    Y500 (40pin) vs Y50 (30pin)

In the video It states that it is a IPS Panel but if you look at the link to the screen it states it is AUO. So is AUO the make and it is an IPS panel or is it an AUO panel and not IPS. Also on the website it does not state anywhere that the display is IPS.

Not true, its just that AUO uses AHVA which is basically their own proprietary IPS.

I've ordered a B156HAN01.2, I'll let you guys know how it goes. I can take more pictures if you would like, but let me know before it gets here so I can take some of the current Chi Mei panel too to use as comparison.

    I ordered from here, paid ~$70: Brand new A+ B156HAN01.2 LP156WF4 SPB1 SPU1 SLB1 N156HGE EA1 EB1 LCD Screen LED Display for AC&ER V5 30PIN EPD Connector-in Laptop LCD Screen from Electronics on Aliexpress.com
I was sure to mention that I want the B156HAN01.2 model in the purchasing notes. Let's hope everything turns out right.

As far as i know, the 1.2 is slightly superior but out of production, the 1.1 is the replacement.
