I'd love to believe this. But these are the same reps who had told us that ultrabay gpus would be out last year!

I've yet to see someone who has talked to a rep who actually knows anything. Chances are if you ask them if it's true the Y50 will transform into Optimus Prime in Overdrive mode, they would say "yes".

I'm guessing all this will be announced tomorrow. There are a bunch of mfg releasing 800M notebooks for this reveal.

I don't know if I can wait any longer lol. I almost broke down tonight and bought a Y510P with GT750 SLI or possibly GT755 SLI. Even after I spend another $100 on upgrading from 24GB SSD to 128GB SSD that it will be way cheaper than the y50 with GPU and SSD... They need to hurry up!

Well, Razer just released new Blade laptops with the 800 series dGPU's, plus the Lenovo rep I just talked to said it will be out around the end of March at best.

The reps also probably believe in Transformer robots turning into computers like the previous gentleman said above. Now talking to these reps is making everyone anxious including myself so lets just stop that lol. Based on what was said at CES, officially, the Y50 will be released in the first Quarter which includes April so expect it before then.

Y50 is listed as having GTX 870M here.

Then again, specs listed on GeForce.com are notoriously inaccurate.

Booo WCCFTech Booo... now that I've gotten that shaming out of the way, I'm more likely to believe that is a typo on the GeForce site. Even the blog on nVidia's site say's it's the 860M in the Y50.

EDIT: And GeForce.com is owned by nVidia... confused face.

I'm still finding it hard to believe they were able to get the 870M (Kepler) in the 14" Razer Blade.

GTX860M is listed as being either Kepler or Maxwell, will we know which version will be in Y50?

Will the differences in architecture have a significant impact on performances?

I'm 99% sure it will be the Maxwell 860M in the Y50. The MXM 860M (Kepler) will be in larger form laptops. Based on the design of the Y50, not sure that a MXM would fit in that chasis.

wich is better, msi gs stealth (870m) or lenovo y50 (you know, 860m). I have read that the stealth wich has 870m will be super hot, even with the new fan system.

The GTX 870M will definitely be better than the 860M, though I haven't seen any actual benchmarks, still the specs looks promising.

its all a matter of choice and patience now.

No price for upgrades like 4k, 860m and touch screen on the Y50 was given. $999 is the base price.

FHD will be included at $999 but unfortunately the 860m will be an option. I'm worried It could be around Razer prices getting a Y50 with GPU, 16GB, 500GB SSD, and backlit keyboard all as options. Find out soon hopefully.

Lenovo is a Chinese company, so I am guessing they can sell stuff much cheaper than the competion.

I bought my Y500 from the outlet for $630 us, and that was with a FHD, 16gb ram, 1 tb hdd , 650m sli, ssd cache drive, and a Intel Core i7-3630QM

those components alone value more than the $630

So I am hoping to get one of those deals again on the 4k model- but I have great feeling that wont be the case this time around

The price just dropped by $400 on the dual GT755m Y510p on the Lenovo website, making it the last model to have its price slashed. Hopefully this means we're very close to the Y50 release.

As of yesterday every model on the lenovo site was discounted except for model 59405667, which was still at $1599. Today it is $1199. I am very familiar with the y410p/y510p line as well as the evolving pricing on lenovo models and 3rd party models. A very similar model, 59406648, has been available for a little while on newegg for $1099.

I think they had the 755m SLI model priced higher until they sold out of the 750m SLI model. Now that the 750m SLI model is down they dropped to price of the 755m SLI to match.

I'm really not here to argue, but again (politely) you're wrong. Yes there were 6 models and are now 5. The model that was removed was the GT750 SLI model. The GT755 SLI, which has always been there at $1599, is still there and for the first time ever is at $1199.

The 750 sli and 755 sli have no difference. A 755m is simply a slightly overclocked 750m.

To me, and I'm sure to many others, there is a big difference. The 3DMark11 Benchmark (just one of many consistent examples) is 4634 for the GT750 SLI and 5673 for the GT755 SLI. That is over 22% improvement = HUGE. This also means the GT755 SLI is more powerful than the GTX860m (3DMark11 Benchmark 5157) and and the GT750 SLI is less powerful.

Well the 755 might use better components than the 750 to achieve the overclock head room, hence, an overclocked 755 is faster than an overclocked 750
    at the same clock ratio.

Have you heard of chip binning? The chips that Nvidia sells as the GT 755m are just better binned versions of the GT 750m that they are confident can be run at a higher clock. Every chip has imperfections when it is made, the manufacturers sell those that are closer to perfect as the higher clocked models.

So, no, not better silicon atoms, but fewer defects.

Hence higher clocked cards have better components providing a better over clock (not always true thou luck of the draw plays a factor at times)
So a 755 is still the better choice for maximum performance output over a similarly based 750m

I still wont say its anything significant. You could easily match the 755m's performance with 750m overclock. No one really overclocks the 755m because its already too hot.

Uh no that is bogus. The difference between 750M and 755M is nowhere near that big. Reason being that 3DMark 11 or SystemInfo (can't recall which) was updated which changed the scoring scale. Everyone's scores instantly went up by several hundred points from that update alone. My overall P score went up by over 700 points. That 750M SLI score was obtained before the update and that 755M SLI score was obtained after the update. So 750M SLI would be getting >P5300 in the new version of 3DMark 11. Even my "lowly" Y500 GT 650M SLI scores P5626 with a slower CPU.

I'd much rather have that single 860M. Much less power draw for about the same performance without the SLI frame pacing and game compatibility issues.
