Ordered on 10/16, when the page actually said it would ship on 10/16 (Orange i5/256/8). A day later it was pushed to 10/18. On 10/18 it was pushed to 10/24. On 10/20 it was pushed to 10/30. On 10/26 it was pushed to 11/6. On 10/31 it was pushed to 10/13. I called in on 10/31 and expressed my dismay at so many delays and the rep assured me that it would ship before 11/6. She said she checked the inventory numbers and warehouse and there's no way it would delay anymore than that. Since she gave me her word, I decided to wait a little longer rather than cancel.
Well I called Lenovo again last night after I didn't receive a shipping notification and I was told that there was no indication it would ship before 10/13 and that even the 13th was still an estimate and it may not ship by then. The rep I talked to last night could not provide me any information regarding what the previous rep was looking at in reference to her guarantee. So, I just decided to cancel the order. I've learned from reading these threads and past experiences that you can't really trust Lenovo reps. I hope you all have better luck! Now to figure out what to get instead..... -

On a related note, I installed Gameplay by GestureWorks and have been very happy with the results. For those who aren't familiar with it, Gameplay allows you to overlay touch controls and create multi-finger gesture controls for games that do not natively support touch. There are some quirks, but it works great for the most part. Now I can happily sit on the couch with X-Com in tablet mode, just like I had dreamed -

Edit: Answered my own question, I believe they are T5 size and I was able to find that size in a torx set on amazon. -
You need a T5 Torx screwdrive, I got one by purchasing the AGPtek 45 in 1 Screw Driver Torx Tool Set Repair Kit on Amazon.
The bottom plate pops off with a little flexing (outward pressure on the sides where they meet the bottom plate) of the of the keyboard unit (black plastic shell that forms the other half of the base of the yoga).
In comparison to a pci-e form factor wireless card replacement that I just did in another laptop, working with the m.2 form factor was much harder in that the 2 antenna connections and posts are much smaller. I tried attaching the antennas first and then re-inserting the card into its slot, but the antennas kept popping off the posts. So I had to seat the card first, and then attach the antennas. Unfortunately the location of the antenna wires makes this somewhat difficult.
I then reinstalled the Intel drivers.
I can now access 5g band and my read/write speeds are 270/160 Mbps instead of ~100/70 Mbps.ferrydust likes this. -
Also, do you know if opening the laptop will void the accidental damage warranty?
Thanks! -

I was having BT issues after running the WIndows Update, so I went and got the latest driver package from Intel. Turns out that the Windows Update of the driver reset the BT Power Management switch, so that is what my issue was. The Windows Update and Intel drivers appear to be the same revisions. -
Just a FYI for those with chrome issues. The proper hDPI fix isn't really working yet, but there is a solution out:
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=149881
You can use the target: --high-dpi-support=1
When I force the hdpi support in flags it destroys the interface totally.
Not a Yoga 2 owner but rmbp which has similar headaches with windows chrome!ferrydust likes this. -
One of the HUGE problems with a device like the Yoga 2 Pro and it's extreme resolution is the fact that Microsoft has not yet seen fit to allow users to set zoom levels on extended monitors independently. So, while your screen may look amazing on the Yoga 2 Pro at 200% they will look pretty ridiculous on your external monitors.
This and this alone is why I have not purchased this laptop as otherwise I love it. -
They have now. Windows 8.1 supports this.
EDIT: Read extended as external! Maybe not. This covers feature:

Yes, it seems it's already ready for 5GHz
No idea re: warranty. -
I replaced my card with the AC card as well, but want to make sure I test my read/write speeds in a "conventional" way. Thanks.ferrydust likes this. -
Hey everybody! I have what I am sure is a stupid question for anyone willing to help out a novice. Does Chrome not have touch enabled pinch to zoom? I went into "flags" and enabled touch events, HIDPI, and any other touch related flags that I could find, but still no pinch to zoom. I have IE, and firefox Aurora installed, so I can just use those I guess, but I would prefer Chrome

OMG. My delivery date was bumped again - it was December 2, but it's just been changed to JANUARY 8th. (I ordered the orange i7/256gb/8gb)
I think this is the last straw - I'm going to cancel my order. -
Hey all,
Is anyone else having an issue with disabling the right side mouse swipe feature? I hate having the windows charms pop up anytime my mouse is anywhere close to right edge of my screen. I have disabled this in two different places and I'm STILL having that damn screen come up from the right side. Someone help please! -
I just got my new Yoga Pro 2 - after researching and after reading a lot of the reviews and questions here. I've been up and down getting used to Win 8.1 as well as the hardware itself. But I have a question - what good does it do to have such a high-resolution screen when running it means having very small windows and fonts? I've read everything and done everything I can think of to resolve that but to no avail. And to top it off the tiles and fonts on the Metro screen suddenly got smaller even though I'd had everything set exactly where I wanted it (resolution had to be 1900...)

Hi there, I noticed allot of people saying their shipments were getting pushed back. Well I ordered a Yoga 2 Pro from John Lewis (a very good retailer here in the UK), just now they rang me to tell me that their supplier has discontinued the laptop and my order has been cancelled. Needless to say I was a bit upset. Presumably Lenovo haven't stopped the Yoga 2 Pro but I think it points to them having allot of problems with it.

Just a thought about returns - I've seen a few folks get stuck because they missed Lenovo's 30-day window to initiate a return. One way around this is to start the return process immediately upon receipt. Nothing says you actually have to return it, but at least you'll be in compliance should that become necessary for whatever reason.

I've been researching laptops since May, and, once Haswell started coming out, I've been looking for the perfect laptop, and, sheesh, I just want to hurry up and have one. And I'm glad it's still going to be this one, my first choice, rather than a second choice. -

My trackpad doesn't work when I'm using the keyboard and vice versa. It's pretty annoying for some games and web stuff. Any idea on how to turn that off
PS. After 3 weeks with this, I still like it. Very fast. Everything is great except for 1. Display color issues 2. Keyboard is a little too smooth 3. Wifi issues, fixed 4. Random overheating -

If anyone has any experiences with capacitive pen/ stylus, please share with us. Things like palm smudges, writing delay, overall performance and of course type of stylus u use, would be welcome. -
So, the Lenovo site has a new WIFI driver listed as of 11/7, has anyone tried this yet? I also see an update for the driver for lenovo Transition to version 2.0, I do not even know what this program is, what it does, or if I should updated it. Can anyone please enlighten me?

New Wifi drivers appears to install Intel Wifi driver v16.5.3 and the "Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility"
Maybe this will help those folks reporting wifi connectivity problems. (My wifi has been fine since installing the Lenovo 10/16 wifi driver update). Just installed it. I'll report if it seems to make any major difference
FYI:
If you are fast during installation, the installer program provides links to Intel's release notes and User Guide which it places on the hard disk of the Yoga. Here are the links (default file locations) but you can only see these after installation
Here: file:///C:/drivers/Kona%20Intel%20Wireless%20Driver/Win7Plus/Docs/relnotes.htm
and: file:///C:/drivers/Kona%20Intel%20Wireless%20Driver/Win7Plus/Docs/ENU/index.htm
Would be nice if Lenovo provided release notes on the Yoga 2 support area with the driver downloads so you knew what the update was doing

I just ran a test on the new Wireless Drivers. I haven't had a chance to do any real world tests other than Stream 4k on Youtube, but here's the numbers using Ixia QCheck: Google Docs Spread Sheet
When I say Data is a "Rough Average," I ran the test 15 or so times and recorded the highest, lowest and average sets of numbers that didn't include any anomalies. They aren't listed in any order, I recorded them as I found them.
Overall, there seems to be a decent boost in speed and reliability at a distance over wireless N.
Note: My router only supports single band (2.4Ghz)
The issue with the YouTube test is I've been having some odd issues streaming on my network. So the 4k video test is inconclusive. I probably have a DNS issue, I've just been too busy to figure it out.
P.S. I'm not an expert when it comes to networking, just an enthusiast.ferrydust likes this. -
For those of you canceling orders, are you getting refunds right away? Lenovo kept pushing delivery back for me so I cancelled. They said it was too late but I could call them when it ships to have Lenovo USA cancel the order when it arrives to the distribution center in the USA. That way I never get it shipped to me but have to wait for the refund? This practice seems ridiculous as I now have nearly $2000 tied up with them despite the fact that it still won't ship for at least a couple more weeks...

Hey guys, I wanted to ask a question here. Why are some people dismissing the Y2PRO just because it doesn't have a Digitizer? These people are like : due to this, the Y2PRO is garbage when it's in tablet mode (which I don't use). I only use laptop and stand mode TBH. I have never used a Digitizer and when I'm at school I just use a good old pencil and paper (maybe I'm just old school? I'm 37).I honestly don't care about this. These people don't even care about the great specs on this machine and the relative low price. Am I being naive about this? Or ignorant? I love the Yoga 2 pro and there's nothing like it out there right now.
-
Has anyone attempted upgrading the ssd?
-
I use my Yoga in college and even if it had a digitizer, using a pencil and paper is much more convenient and efficient than using a touch screen to drawn/sketch out imagery. I've also yet to be able to figure out how to draw in Microsoft Word, even though I know there is an option for this. (Maybe it isn't enabled on non-digitizer devices? - If someone with Office 2013 and a Yoga has found this option in Word, where is it!? [Yes I've read the official documentation from MS about where it is on the ribbon, it's not there for me])
The main reason I could see someone needing or wanting a digitizer if they wanted to draw on their Yoga using an application with Digitizer support. Because let's be honest, this device would be "almost" perfect for drawing on Windows without the need for a graphic tablet.
The only catch there is you better hope your favorite application has Hidpi support.
As a graphic design/front end developer I'm pretty angry that Adobe still hasn't updated their CC suite to be Hidpi compatible. It crashes every time I load it at 3200x1800 with 200% scaling.
For the price, the Yoga 2 Pro is unbeatable. Plus the wow-factor from everyone when I flip it over into stand, tent or tablet mode is quite nice.
There's too many pros to the Y2P to let one con run ruin it. Now the yellow/wifi issues, there someone may get some argument points for debating whether or not the Yoga 2 Pro is worth it.
If anyone wants Digitizer support then they can wait for the Yoga Thinkpad, but the added weight may distract from the "tabletness" (Tabletability?) ... of such a convertible.ferrydust likes this.
