Just a quick hint for everyone using Chrome on its new Y2P.

Go to "chrome://flags" and activate "HiDPI-Support". Your websites will immediately look waaaaaay sharper. :D
And while you are at it you can also activate "Optimized UI for touch screens" (might be called a little different as my Chrome runs in German and I just translated it). It will tweak the UI a little to make it more touch friendly.

But keep in mind, that this are experimental features and might not always run stable.

I tried this on the latest Chrome stable build. In the beta- or dev-builds the effects may be different

Just FYI to everyone. Best Buy in my area (Austin, TX) shows a lot of the stores having the i5 $999 version in stock when viewed on their website but does not show any of the i7 $1199 versions. However, I was just at a store and they did an inventory search. There are 2 of the i7 versions in stock (1 ea at 2 stores) in the area. Tempted to go pick one up but I think I'll just wait on the 512GB one I have on order and hope it ships before the current estimated date. So the online inventory is not quite as up-to-date as the store inventory information.

I'm expecting mine to arrive Monday, November 25... i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Clementine Orange.

When I get the chance, I plan to use my colorimeter to create a custom color profile for the display. I will definitely let you know what the optimal settings are to get the best performance out of the display.

Just ordered a 59394167 Yoga 2 Pro Clementine Orange i7/8GB/256GB SSD...The website said 6 weeks and order status said January 2014 last night for estimated delivery and then this morning it was already released to manufacturing and has an estimated delivery of 11/26. I am coming from a Surface Pro that I use with a 23" Dell S2340T touch screen monitor and bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I don't take the surface with me hardly anywhere, It generally just sits on my desk every day. I am hoping I will use the Yoga 2 Pro a bit more outside of the office.

And my Clementine i7/8GB/256GB just arrived. Very fast turnaround, I ordered it on Monday afternoon and here it is! Unfortunately, no time to open the box and start it up until at least tonight. Bummer...

Did Lenovo do something to make fonts and everything look better? I haven't touched anything on the display settings, and everything is readable at the highest resolution(even Chrome). I like my new machine better already. Like I said before, I only noticed the light bleed on the start-up screen.

I do believe they use the 200% scaling at the native 3200x1800 resolution, thus boosting the size of the font, while keeping the sharpness of the fonts.

Mine too, it has two spots in the lower left corner that are worse than the rest of the lower edges. I thought it was just a initial star up thing, so I waited a couple of hours and then a play this video ( 10 hours black screen 480p!!!! - YouTube) in full screen and the light bleed still the same. This wont be good while watching dark scenes in movies, etc.I think this one is going back to BB.

Well my silver i7/8GB/256SSD which I ordered on 11/01 has finally been released to manufacturing... Still shows an estimated ship of 12/15 but upon calling Lenovo today they said it's actually scheduled to ship 11/27 or 11/28... So much for arriving before Thanksgiving

Alright, for some reason I'm totally unable to search this thread - just tells me there's no hits although I know there are. I was trying to find information about the wifi dropping the network connection that others have hit, and if anyone found any way around it.

I've got the AC network card in this, and the other people I've seen who did the AC upgrade didn't experience disconnects, but I'm getting it just as often as I did with the single band card. Tried the driver off of Intel's site as well rather than the one that came with this (although the driver that came with it worked for others with the AC card) and set power saving to off in advanced power properties so that nothing tries to conserve power with the wireless card... And I get drops on my Airport Extreme at home, and just about every other wireless access point or router I've connected to at dozens of client sites from Netgears to Dlinks and everything else in between.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

I haven't noticed it anymore. Like I said before, it was only apparent on the dark startup screen. People are saying that ALL IPS panels have light bleed, no matter who the manufacturer is, but I don't know if that is true.

I've had two IPS displays (a 23" HP and the current 27" Dell) and they both had/have some light bleed. This is not normally visible, since the display is not always completely black.

With a more reduced brightness, this is even less visible.

One of the reasons this panel develops some light bleed is that it is so thin and we are constantly twisting and turning the thing.

Happy for you guys with good yellows. I am assuming this is without BIOS and EM updates? Any ideas how that may be the case?

I am in the process of installing fresh Win 8.1 Pro and plan on not updating BIOS and EM updates thinking that they may cause the fans to go wild as some have noted. I am ok waiting until all the kinks are out.

I have checked everywhere I believe and changed and re-saved settings etc...not working...

    Any help?!

(As soon as I received my Pro, I did the update for the Yellow issue)

Anyone using Anker's USB 3.0 Dual Display Universal Docking Station? wrote to their tech support and got this response: "We currently have some compatibility issues with Windows 8.1, especially related to the Display Link drivers. Also, the docking station actually doesn't charge the laptop."

I'd want to use this mostly for external display, but it looks like that might be a problem?

I use that one. Its my first USB docking station so I have nothing to compare to, but its fine to me. I have two 24" 1080p external monitors connected. There is a little mouse lag on them but nothing significant. Certainly doesn't keep me from working. I love being able to connect Ethernet to it as well.

Hopefully they will push out an update to smooth out the mouse lag though.

Within the BIOS settings, I did notice a setting to enable/disable allowing updating to earlier BIOS revisions. It was disabled by default, but if you flash the newer revision and then enable this, you should be able to flash an older revision thereafter (unless for some reason they were to remove that option in the later BIOS, though I can't imagine why they would.. usually there is a way to allow reverting to an older BIOS, so I wasn't surprised to see it).

Now that's in principle -- it of course leaves the question of where to *get* the initial shipping revision.. I didn't notice it on the downloads page for the Y2P, only the newer one. Maybe they'll put it up there also at some point, but it's not there now.

Well, I went ahead and installed the BIOS update and the new power management and I'm pretty happy. My yellows on the BB website look pretty normal now(even though It didn't bother me that much), I can barely hear my fans, and I do have light bleed, but I can only see it when the computer starts up. I'm messing around with the Intel Extreme Tuning software so that I can under volt the CPU and GPU in order to maybe squeeze a little more battery life. Cheers.

There is an app called "ThrottleStop" which will keep your cpu running in the turbo zone pretty much constantly. I used this on my Surface Pro without issue for 6 months. Just google it. Of course use at your own risk. Have no idea how this would interact with DPTF as Surface Pro did not have that (I don't think).

Again, I had no problem but you bake your expensive toy it's on you :)

I'm glad the updates worked out well for you. If it is not too much to ask, would you let us know how the under volt works out? Thanks

When I use the Y2P on laptop mode, in my lap, the bottom gets too warm for comfort on battery mode, and if I keep it plug, it gets even warmer, close to hot. Have not update anything yet. Anybody else experiencing something like this? Can I do something to improve this (beside using a cooling pad or not putting the Y2P in my lap :D)?

Check out the "how I get 7+ hours with my Y2PRO". That's where I'll probably be discussing the under volting to so that things don't get too crazy on this thread. :)
Yeah, the bottom of my Y2PRO gets pretty hot too, so I just put a pillow underneath on stand mode.

Odd - I use it on my lap every night when I get home from work, sometimes for 8 to 10 hours, wearing very thin cotton pants that I lounge with at night. Both before and after the BIOS / power mgmt. update, with or without power, regardless of the power setting I'm in, mine's never gotten hot. Warm, but that's all. I'm mostly doing web, occasional video, Office programs, RDP sessions to various servers, and file downloading. I've got the i7 / 8 / 256

Hi everyone! I have been really loving the Y2P since I got it, especially lying in bed, using stand mode. However, I'm little worried about the Stand mode's pressure on the keyboard. I don't know if there's a specific key that's absorbing all the weight of the laptop. I haven't noticed any keys being un even or distorted from the other keys though, but still I'm a little worried. (Tent mode is nice but it doesn't work with a pillow on my belly so Stand mode with pillow it is for me :D

    My battery life report:

    Settings:

    1.Daily Mode
-0.60mV CPU, Cache and GPU (Dynamic offset)
Advanced Settings in Control Panel: 80% Brightness, Maximum Power Savings in everything, Adaptive Brightness OFF
Disabled, uninstalled all Lenovo Apps except Energy Manager

Usage: Web browsing, switching between Metro UI and Desktop, tweaking some settings, Viewing photos, occasional video (mp4, Flash)

    Run time: 6-6.5 hours

    2. Stable Mode (Low performance)
everything is the same except Brightness is at 40%. Performance is the same with Daily except Yellows have green tint. Basically I just use Daily Mode to get better yellows and higher brightness, everything else is the same.

    Usage: Same as Daily mode

    Run time: 8-8.5 hours

Alright guys. I am buying tomorrow. Do I want the 59394174 or 59394177. The only differences are double the memory (4 to 8GB) and double the SSD size (128 to 256GB). Is $150 worth that? I could buy a portable HDD to store some stuff in for like $80, so I am mainly concerned about the memory. What do I do?

P.S. - these are the only differences, right? there should be no difference in battery life or anything of that nature?

Memory is soldered on this model (meaning it is not upgradeable later), so I would spring for the higher 8gb memory.
