If you read through the descriptions of the iPearl cases on Amazon, they both clearly say "NOT" compatible with the Y2P, so you probably don't want to go with those. I got the Slot-In and it fits very well, but think it's WAY over-priced.

    I found this review:
Picked this up for my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro. It doesn't fit perfectly for the Yoga 2 Pro, as in a good half inch of the laptop sticks out, and none of the holes on the case matches up with any of the ports on the laptop. I guess I could have looked at the description/pics a little better, but considering the Lenovo website is selling it for $40, I thought this would be some what of a steal to buy. This case was probably originally made for the older versions of the laptop, I just wanted something that would actually protect my laptop for travel reasons, etc. Which i highly doubt that this one will do the job. Better off buying an aftermarket case for any ol 13 inch laptop.
    Would you agree?

I really like the custom Timbuk2 case I got for it. The small size fits perfectly. Even got mine made from custom waterproof material.

Depends on how fussy you are. The Slot-in is a perfect fit with perfect alignment. Skimpy, but what I wanted for keyboard protection. Some people want a more secure case for carrying/dropping/etc, and this would not be it. I'm just annoyed at the price, but it's what I'm using.

OK then. I thought the Slot-in was made for Yoga 13, not y2p.

You cannot use it in table mode if you add those shells. In order to use it in tablet mode, you need to take the shell off.

Ok, thanks for all the input guys. I think I am between this one and the Y2P slot in. I want the protection of the first, and usability of the second. My life is so hard.

2 different models. Be sure you get the one marked for Y2P. The other one would probably fit, be a little cheaper, but openings do not line up.

I just got my replacement Y2P, since the current one that I have has a display issue where it would got to 100% brightness by itself all the time and the buzzing noise while being charged. So, maybe I should sell my unopened one. I have thought about it, but love this PC too much. I thought that it was so nice from Lenovo to let me keep my current PC until I would get my replacement(they have earned my business for sure).

The Lenovo Slot-in case works well, but I wish it had more cutouts for the opposite side.

You can use it in all the non-laptop modes... tablet, tent and stand mode. It covers the keyboard and still gives you access to the side controls (volume, power, USB2 port and the power port).

The top is intentionally exposed to allow the vents to work. The inside lining is very soft...

So, it can be used as a sleeve (with 1/2 inch exposed) and as a keyboard protector, with the same 1/2 exposure.

Well my bad luck continues! Now the touchpad on my new machine has a little looseness to it! When I tap it lightly it makes a rattle that I hate. Boy oh boy. I should have just sent my other laptop for repair. Other than that (WIFI ok, color ok, no scratches, no frame bent etc.) everything else is OK. Light bleed is present, but I think that is inevitable. I have learned my lesson, and would send this one for repair if it gets too annoying.

That doesn't work :(. Alt+Enter does nothing on Civ V. It's stupid because the Yoga 2 Pro has only one scaling option, always on, and Civ V ignores it.

Seems it's a common issue for this game :(

    Hi,

Ended up uninstalling the Realtek HD Audio driver as I got nothing but errors. In the end couldn't even play ordinary MP3 files anymore. I'm now on the Microsoft driver, works like a charm!

Anybody ever had a Realtek thing that worked? Not me!

For the rest very happy with my Y2P

I upgraded my display driver straight from the Lenovo website and since then I cannot get the settings to stick on the "turn off adaptive brightness" setting! Rebooted a few times and nothing. Tried downloading the latest display driver straight from Intel and I get an error message saying that my display adapter is not supported?

Any way to change the direction of touchpad scrolling? I got used to scrolling with two fingers on other people's Applle PCs and I really don't like how it's done on the Yoga 2 Pro.

I read a review that said you couldn't...but I find it hard to believe. I would assume that changing scrolling direction would be a standard across windows products. I asked this before and no one responded. As soon as my laptop arrives I'll check it out.

I also asked if you could just tap on the touchpad to click rather than pressing down on the left corner. The same review that said you couldn't change scroll direction said that you couldn't tap on the trackpad. Again, I would assume that it would be the standard to just tap the touchpad to click, but I'm not sure. On the 27th, I'll confirm...if my laptop arrives by then...

Re clicking/tapping, both one finger (left mouse button equivalent) and two finger (right mouse button) work just fine. There is a version of the click pad driver on other brands that allows reversing the scrolling direction but not on the current Y2P settings dialog. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a registry setting that could be set to enable it however. Couldn't find anything searching the web.

I believe to achieve this, people have been using the yoga 13(first model) driver for the touchpad( the latest 8.1 driver) on the Y2P. I used it for a while on another Yoga 2 pro that I had since I hated how sensitive the touchpad was, but for some reason the current touchpad driver feels fine to me. I didn't verify if I could scroll the opposite direction though.

still surprising that windows hasnt figured out how to standardize scrolling on their devices-- that we have to go for 3rd party programs to get our laptops to act like modern devices

got my Y2P -- so far so good. not sure if my bios is updated to deal with yellow, but i can still see that yellow is still pretty vomitty. not sure if it bothers me yet, but lets see...

also is there a source of truth for all the ways we can optimize Windows for high ppi screens? i feel like there are a million little changes to make the display usable. would love to know what others have figured out.

Got my Yoga 2. I am wondering how I go about making my firefox "larger." As in, the high resolution makes chrome appear extremely small. Is there anyway to make it more normal sized?

Also, I am not sure if I need to update my BIOS. How do I tell if I need to? And, if I need to, how do I go about it?

I was wondering if other people are having this problem or if it is pretty standard. I got my Y2P a couple of days ago and noticed the slightly loose touchpad rattles a bit while i'm just using tapping around. I'm considering sending it in for repair but don't want to if it is normal and I'm just being picky.

I have 1 VM running on this thing and gets pretty warm. Also the SSD performance seems slow. I haven't benchmarked it or checked temps yet.

Also, I don't even try to mess around with the highest resolution, I stay at 2048 x 1152. 3200 is ridiculous for me.

Anybody else running VMs, notice any heat issues, or SSD performance problems ?

I use it for Reason, 11ms latency, using ASIO driver for various M-Audio/Edirol/Korg/etc. devices - had no issues with latency; no unusual updates done other than normal Windows Updates - stock from Lenovo.

Are you using ASIO? DX-Audio is usually terrible on all machines. Are you in High-Performance mode instead of Balanced or some other power-saver mode? Is Windows updates and all network I/O stopped?

On my old (slow) laptop I always turned off Indexing and Windows Update auto-downloading and every other behind-the-scenes networking software I could as WiFi seemed to have a big effect on latency on my old machine when doing motion.dive Tokyo live video mixing... Also some USB devices seemed to affect me a lot - swapping to other USB port fixed some issues on old laptop - have not have these issues (yet?) on new laptop.

It's not normal, because, ironically, the one I sent back had a solid touch pad with no looseness. I'm going to call them and get it repaired, since I don't want to go through this again (getting another machine with a different problem).BTW, that's exactly what is wrong with my touch pad (what you described). It rattles when you touch it lightly.

3 more weeks left to return it. The light bleed on this thing is horrible. The whole top left corner of the screen is yellow when the screen is black. I've seen something similar on two in store models. I still can't get more than 4-5 hours out of the battery either. Other than that I'm liking it. I'm still on the fence about keeping it. I'm highly considering the 256/8gb Surface Pro 2. I've played with a few in store and the build quality is incredible and there hasn't been any light bleed on any of the models.

    BIOS:

Power on the computer by pressing the Novo key to go into the BIOS, or press F2 after you power on and read the version on the BIOS screen.

    -or-

When you execute the latest BIOS, it will tell you before it does the actual update. Download the latest BIOS, run the exe and check.

    Energy Manager:

Open Energy Manager and check the menu. (Settings > About)

Having intermittent wireless issue - not losing the connection, but it slows to a crawl. Happens several times a week, generally cured by a reboot. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks! ...Steve

When I'm plugged in I use Chrome and then Opera 12.16 for heavy-duty stuff. Unplugged, the included IE is very impressive. Lightweight, fast, a battery sipper. And this is coming from someone who swore off IE for a decade.

The dev channel chrome fixes the HDPI issues on this laptop found with the production version. Before you install it disable HDPI in the production version first (if you have already manually enabled it in settings). Then just install the dev version and use it. These fixes should make their way into the production version. Otherwise I haven't found any other issues with the dev version.
