Nothing was wrong with the way I measured it - just booted up and ran AS SSD first thing.
Your numbers look a lot better obviously. Is that the i7 / 512 ?
-
It's i7/256/8
With your 512 the numbers should be even better.
Return it, I mean it. Don't waste your time here. -

Compared to someone who comes into this thread complaining about everything and then claims his alternate choice is a T440s which isn't even an ultrabook hybrid tablet nor a touchscreen. Then tells everyone the SSD is crap, which gets repudiated within minutes by another owner?
Yeah, what was I thinking. -
Will it fix the low AS SSD scores that I posted ?
Know what, why don't I just cancel my return authorization and keep it since you're happy with yours ?
Oh, and as for that invaluable ultrabook expertise that makes everyone else's opinion irrelevant, I think you're wasting your talents on this forum. Lenovo could no doubt use your input in, at the very least, their display department.
One tip though, before you embarrass yourself on your 1st day working at Lenovo, let me assure you that the T440s is indeed touchscreen and labeled as an ultrabook as clearly stated on the site:
No need to continue replying to me, nothing you've said was even the least bit helpful. -
Why someone would want a touchscreen laptop that doesn't become a tablet is beyond me, but whatever.
And why would I try and help someone who's already decided they are returning the laptop lol.
The Yellow isn't bad either. You're just too picky to be on board with this edgy of a laptop. Stick to Thinkpads. They'll serve you well. Unless of course they start shipping them with hard drives that die in a month again.Hunter99 likes this. -

Now that I see someone else's AS SSD score, I have an idea why. -
Hi all,
I was amaze how peoples focus their mind. I bought the Y2P before christmas and I'm very happy with it because I understand how Marketing dept. vs Engeneering ones show us their state of minds.
If I was a user who want to do Virtualization with a computer, how can I think to do it with an ultrabook of 75 watts of power vs a desktop computer of 400 watts. Where the 325 Watts are vanished for god sake ??
Peoples who want to run a virtual machine on the Y2P and complaint about the heat can't understand how electrons travel in silicium chips.
Sorry for my two cents.

The yellow issue was fixed...and a previous owner posted a better color profile that makes yellow look yellow. Even before, it was hard to see the difference. Now it's perfect

Hi
Lenovo is not offering or selling the Y2P in Orange color with i7 and 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD configuration anymore.
Lucky I got mine last month.
Anyone knows why ?? -

Just checked out the yellows, they look pretty good over here (haven't done anything to the BIOS). Ran image searches for DAFFODILS and BANANAS and YELLOW.

Have you found a solution for this? I'm experiencing the same exact issue. The problem is mostly due to the ndis.sys, the usbport.sys is not high enough to crack the audio for me.. It works if I turn the wifi off, the audio wont crack and i can dj with no issue. Although I do mix in a bar with wifi and sometimes I download special requests, audio crackles in the bar, nottt good.
I was thinking of changing the wifi card to the 7260 ac one from intel. Could someone with this tweak run latency moon and tell me if they have this problem? This wifi card is worth 30$ on ebay...its an upgrade and could be an easy fix -
I'd like to run the touch pad drivers from Synaptic, but the touch pad won't be disabled when using the computer in tablet mode. Have anyone fixed this? Thx.

Official screen protectector is pure crap. Tried to peel of the top layer after applying but it just took it all off and now there's dust on the sticky side. I'll never buy a screen protector in my life again.

Waiting on my Yoga to be repaired (loose touchpad). Guess what? I returned my previous Y2P due to a weird noise when charging, and you guessed it, the new one that I sent to get repaired also has the same noise, although it's not as loud (electronic noise when charging).

Wouldn't be at all surprised if there are quality control issues since the performance of mine seems well under par. -

Then I went and found the registry item and added a few lines.
I'm sure it was mentioned somewhere in passing in the hundreds of pages earlier, but here are the directions:
Warning! Screwing around the registry can have massive repercussions. Don't do it unless you know what you're doing and also always back up your registry!
1) Run regedit.exe from a command prompt or just searching via win+q
2) Using the branches, go under: Computer ---> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--->SYSTEM--->Enum--->HID
I looked for the registry value with the same ClassGUID that you found under device properties (in my case it was under VID_046D&PID_C00C--->6&389ae43c&0&0000)
Then under that key I went under Device Parameters and added two 32-bit DWORDs
1) Name: FlipFlopHScroll, Value Data: 1, Base: Hexadecimal (This is for horizontal scrolling)
2) Name: FlipFlopWheel, Value Data: 1, Base: Hexadecimal (This is for vertical scrolling)
Save, exit, reboot. Sometimes it didn't work the first reboot so I did it again and then it was fine.
Anyways, I hope it helps. This thread has been extremely helpful, so I hope to pass it forward. -
So I keep getting the "unauthorized battery" error in Lenovo Energy Manager. Doing a hard reset fixes it for a while but it keeps coming back. I've just closed Energy Manager. Is there a reason you can't just close it and not use it? It seems to fix the issue and I can still select the Lenovo power profiles (daily, stable, etc) from the Windows battery icon. I can't really tell what value Energy Manager provides other than giving you some additional options (conservation mode, etc).

SOLVED - "Stuck" Trackpad after Wifi card upgrade
Yesterday I installed a replacement AC wifi card in my Y2P (as discussed many times in this thread). This requires opening the case of the Yoga 2 Pro, installing the new wifi card and then, obviously reinstalling the back "metal" (shinny plastic) case.
After I replaced the wifi card, the trackpad on the Y2P would no longer recognize a "click". I could move the mouse but could not click. I played with drivers but that didn't fix it. There are a few posts on this forum and the Lenovo Community Forum of others with this problem, one also after opening the case to do the same upgrade.
I finally worked out what caused this and wanted to post this here, especially for anyone else you opens the case themselves.
There are two screws on the underside of the Y2P almost immediately underneath the trackpad (or "opposite" the trackpad if you prefer). If you OVERTIGHTEN those screws (or somehow put that part of the case back on wrong) the TRACK PAD "JAMS" and won't click.
SOLUTION - loosen those two screws slightly. Problem solved! My trackpad is working perfectly again!
SUGGESTED PROCESS FOR REINSTALLING THE BACK COVER...
1) Place the back cover loosely in position. There are 2 lips (or hooks) on this front edge (the long edge that doesn't have the hinges on it). Make sure those 2 lips are correctly hooked into place into the front (vertical) face.
2) PLAY WITH THE TRACKPAD -- sneak the Y2P open a little (while holding the back panel in place) and play with the trackpad buttons. They should make a nice, satisfying "click" when pressed
3) Install the one screw in the middle of the rear case and the two screws on the front lip ("opposite" the trackpad).
4) PLAY WITH THE TRACKPAD AGAIN. Do the buttons still "click" nicely? YES - great, keep going with the other screws. NO - check the backpanel is really "seated" correctly (especially those two "lips"), maybe loosen those 2 screws opposite the trackpad. Keep playing around with the screws and checking that track pad is clicking
5) Reinstall the rest of the screws, checking the trackpad buttons every so often
Basically, the Y2P is built with very tight tolerances, and when you reassemble the case, you just have to be careful not to overtighten the rear case, as it appears to cause the trackpad buttons to jam.
This might be useful also for folks who have intermittent problems with their trackpad. You might want to try very slightly loosening those two screws (use a T-5 Torx screwdriver)shakermaker41 likes this. -

-performance : cost ratio... the machine is brisk, to say the least
- other than some bleed ...I love this panel, resolution is stunning
- I am getting a legit 8 plus hours of productivity between charges (browsing/media consumption/work station)
- I thought the form factor was a gimmick, I am now enamored with it. Maybe not so much tent, but tablet (I dig my nex7² ...but this just smokes it for reading/media) and stand are part of my computing experience now.
Overall... pretty pleased. Gave my zenbook ux31a to the misses.shakermaker41 likes this. -
Seriously. Something is wrong with my track pad, almost 8/10 times when I wake up my laptop from sleep mode, the two touch scrolling won't work and I need to restart my computer...

If I hook up a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro to a 4K Ultra HD TV via HDMI, will it be able to display at 3200x1800 resolution (or even higher)? I heard some people had problems with latency, delay between action and visual displaying, when doing something like this, is this a common problem?

Sorry but ii have to vent here. I think its reasonable since the name of this thread is Owners thread and is about owners experience. For reference my configuration is yoga 2 with 256g and 8g memory, with the ac card upgrade.
I also want to say i actually worked as tech support for a company that released one of the first desktop computers and have lived with all of the windows versions since then, so i have some experience. I also want it on the record i am no fan of Apple, I don't like how they limit what you can buy, don't have a lot of options for their equipment and you basically have to buy from them.
A friend of mine who happened to be in laptop development a few years ago recommended that i get off of the Windows platform and move to apple. His advice was from the perspective of production and said that windows just was too buggy. This person was at the top of the development chain and had over 100 techs working for him before he retired. Now this seemed like strange advice and i chose not to listen, especially since i don't like how Apple jacks around with you.
Here is what i have done in the last few minutes prior to signing on to this website because I had to reinstall chrome.
First of all i just corrected about 5 typos because i had to expand the font with the touchpad since it was too small (2 minutes)and i could not see the mistakes initially,
prior to that i had to go look up the password to get on to notebook review since right before I came to this site,
I had to re-install chrome as a result of enabling hdpi bit (read as a fix but this totally changed the way chrome was displayed and i was not able to go back in and change anything since the buttons were mismapped and not where they appeared to be) (this lesson took about 45 minutes)
Since i no longer had the extnesion for lastpass installed in Chrome this required me to go to ie11 where it was installed to look up notebookreivew passwords. So came back to chrome and entered passwords (5 minutes). Still need to reinstall Lastpass extension (5 minutes sometime in the future)
Prior to that this morning spent time trying to fix scaling (60 minutes).
This is the 3rd or 4th time i have tried to get scaling right. Still not right.
Production very low for this morning. Lenovo did you try to run anything on this computer before you released it.
Here is my opiniion of scaling and also what the reivewers should have said about this computer. First of all what the reviewers should have said.
Yoga 2 Pro. If you are looking for a gaming computer this is it, i don't mean one to play games with but one that plays games with you. The Yoga 3200x1800 display is basically unsupported and not usable. If you like trading punches with people then this is your computer. Nothing you do with scaling will fix one thing without breaking another. If you are an early adopter and production isn't important to you and you don't mind waiting 5 years for the software to catch up (assuming Microsoft is still in business) then this computer is for you.
Now some opinions about scaling. Some of the problems i have are when switching a program panel from one screen to an extended monitor it does not scale properly, for example on one screen the panel might take up to 1/3 of the width and when you move it over it might take up 1/2 of the screen, I know there is a setting for this because i see it reduce when i get the image on the other screen, otherwise it would take up 2/3 of the screen. Then there is the differences between pop ups, menus and text sizing. For example after jacking with chrome for awhile i get the text right but cant read the font size on the ribbon, I finally get the ribbon right then the little Lastpass icon is still too small( cant figure out how to change that). Popup menus like for dropbox still cant figure out how to change those either, so small I cant read them. It seems like when you make a change one place it changes something somewhere else. Spent hours so far. Imagine a response I read that says use the magnifier feature. Are you kidding me, i have to use an app to read the screen. Why dont I just get a magnifying glass and keep it near my computer, it would be faster.
This is unaceptable and probably why Apple complety dominates windows. I think Lenove probably screwed up because they thought this super high resolution monitor would help sell the yoga. so now a non compatiable format, yellow problem, probably shorter battery times. Is anybody home. I think now it was a huge blunder and it wasn't necessary for me. The tablet mode the size, the screen brigthness and the 4th generation haswell was what sold me. Now i have a computer that is anything but productive.
Ps. It would be wonderful for a guru to tell us how to do this scaling so that chrome, ie11, popup menus and ribbons on word and other apps are readable.
PPs thank god for this user forum and the contributors or we wouldnt have a chance -
@firepro
I only skimmed your post but it seems that a lot of your pain points don't really have anything to do with Windows but with the companies who provided the software/hardware. Windows is an open ecosystem and it's experience is somewhat marred (or augmented) by how well or poorly those other vendors implement their products within Windows. So while I agree with some of your frustrations, I think it's too easy to lay all the blame at Microsoft's door. Apple's stuff works great because they control almost everything start-to-finish. And despite "completely dominating" Windows (with something like 10% market share?), Apple doesn't have to worry about trying to support a massive install base of old software and devices into each new version. In my view, Apple has a much easier job than Microsoft in producing easy to use software that works with everything.
This is all just my opinion, but I just think its way too easy for people to point the finger at Microsoft and compare the experience to Apple, and I just don't feel like it's quite an apples-to-apples comparison.
As far as the scaling, I set my Y2P's resolution back to 1080P within a couple days after I realized there is really no reason for such a high resolution on a laptop screen and the experience is better (in my opinion). Microsoft can improve here, but again there is also responsibility on the software vendors to update their apps to take advantage of higher resolution screens.
Also BTW - I am not telling you your frustrating aren't valid, and that if the Y2P isn't working for you then hopefully you can still exchange it. I just occasionally get moved to get up on my little soap box from time to time when these "Why can't Windows be like Apple" posts pop up.SDC_Bolts likes this. -
Just thought I would run the same test and share the results - seems ok (assuming this is the expected result or should it be much higher). So far everything seems to be very smooth and that worries me. Only thing I have updated is the BIOS, Energy Manager and Wireless Driver (which thankfully work very well). Specs are i7, 8GB and 512 SSD.
I checked running youtube videos in tablet and tent mode - again runs fine even at 1080 res without any judders. Like I said - I am kind of waiting for something to go wrong but at the same time praying it stays like this. The fan is behaving too. Gets a little warm when I play Skyrim but I would expect that. Office 2013 is generall open as I work on excel and powerpoint.
Wireless speed is lower than my old desktop so maybe that is one area I need to check. Otherwise it all seems ok.
Well it seems the speed is back to normal. Must be that time of the day when the whole street has nothing better to do than use the internet (including me...lol)
Must add that I was a Chrome fan but I tried out Opera and its great. Will check the performance over the next few days but I think Opera could be really good alternative to Chrome and IE.Attached Files:

Yes LoJack is pre-installed, but you had to enable and activate and pay the monthly/yearly fee.

I searched for a nice sleeve for days and decided to try this one made for the Macbook Pro 13". It fits perfectly and is much more beautiful than the eBay pictures let on. Took a while to ship from China, but I'm very happy with it. I'll post some pictures later when I'm home.

Ugh...I'm very very sad.
I got my Yoga 2 about 10 days ago from Best Buy and paid for it (without warranty) using an AMEX card. Last night while carrying it the Yoga 2 slipped out of my hands and fell about 1.5 - 2 feet and crumpled up the left front corner on the keyboard side of the ultrabook. Luckily everything works great still but it's making me sick to look at the corner. From looking at it the lower/bottom panel (silver in my case) probably can be pulled back into shape since it has a very minor ben but I don't know if the top panel (keyboard surround) can be. My question is what is the most reasonable way to get this repaired? I don't live in a major city so I'm guessing I'll have to send it away to get Lenovo to work on it. Alternatively is it possible to buy the panel and replace it myself given that it's a fairly new offering from the company?
Any ideas, suggestions or commiserating is much appreciated.
