Anybody update the "Intel Experience" Driver? Did you have any problems with it.
I keep getting reminded to update it, but last time I investigated it seems I remember there was an issue with updating it, but I can't find that again.

Resolution, Google Chrome, Registry settings, and Chrome flags...
Okay, I'm working my way through the steps from my original post -- #2646 --
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9651997
Time to think about screen resolution.
I tried a couple tests with 1920x1080 and 1600x900, but in the end, I wanted to at least *try* for some sweet retina action.
Here's what I ended up doing (for now anyway)
Resolution: 3200x1800.
"Change the size of all items": Extra Extra Large - 250% (default)
Metro IE zoom: 250%
Desktop IE zoom: 250%
Google Chrome:
I downloaded the latest Beta (as of 11-May-2014, this seems to be version "35.0.1916.99 beta-m", which I didn't expect would work with the registry change, but it did).
Registry change:
I downloaded the "Enable hiDPI and "Disable hiDPI" registry files linked to from this page:
Chrome High DPI: How To Enable It In Windows 8, 8.1 (v34+) | Ubergizmo
I opened each one in Notepad to make sure it did nothing other than change one registry entry -- the entry called "[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Chrome\Profile]"
I ran "Enable hiDPI" (and then took a peek with Regedit to see the new entry it created).
When I launched Chrome, I saw that... it WORKED! Even doing it with beta version 35, instead of dev version 36, it looked much better. I might even say "Basically acceptable!"
The text looked better, but the font spacing was off. But I had read about this in this thread -- in particular, splus's post #2570 -- http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9625116
I typed "google://flags" into the URL bar, and did 4 different experiments, trying each combination of the 2 flags mentioned by splus:
"Enable DirectWrite" and
"LCD text antialiasing"
I launched Chrome 4 different times -- to test each combination of the 2 flags, and here were my findings:
1. My wi-fi sucks! (at the moment anyway) I'll have to come back to that soon, but I really got tired of waiting for Google to load.
2. DirectWrite made a huge difference. (I pasted the results into a Word doc, but I don't think I can upload that here.)
3. LCD Text Antialiasing didn't seem to make any difference. It was very "Princess and the Pea," squinting at the two screenshots in my Word doc, trying to see if I could tell any difference between LCD Text Antialiasing set to Default vs. Enabled.
I had come a long way from "Holy cow, do I have to give up on Chrome completely?"
I'll stick with this resolution for a while. Next, I'll be tinkering with improving the wi-fi, and the screen's various auto-brightness settings.
BOTTOM LINE (for me, for now):
3200x1800. 250% Display.
Latest Chrome beta, as of 11-May-2014
One reg tweak
One flag changed in Google ChromeSzczepanik likes this. -
Yeah, the Enable Direct Write in Chrome flags makes all the difference in letter spacing.
Enable LCD antialiasing gives you a very subtle difference, you'll have to look carefully because you can see the difference only between certain letter combinations. But it's slightly better with it than without.
Actually, if you're running your Windows at 250% scaling then you can hardly see any difference! ;-)
I'm at 180%, and the letters are smaller and rendered with lower DPI, so it's easier to see the difference. But still subtle... -
Replacing the Wi-Fi card in a Yoga 2 Pro...?
I'm pretty sure that I'm happy with my refurbished Yoga 2 Pro. But I can see that I'm having Wi-Fi problems that will require some troubleshooting. From what I've read, the best solution is to buy a replacement card for $35 or $40.
It's an "AC" card, but from what I read somewhere, it will even help me, even though I only have an N router.
I won't buy the card until I'm sure I'm keeping my Yoga 2 Pro. I'm pretty sure I'll keep hammering on my new Yoga for the remainder of the Best Buy 15-day return period, and THEN maybe open it up to replace the network card.
I did some reading, like the first message of this thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/742574-yoga-2-pro-faqs.html#post9527565
and here:
Yoga 2 Pro WiFi Replacement Cards???? - Page 11 - Lenovo Community
It seems that what I want is THIS product:
Amazon.com: 7260NGW Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11ac, Dual Band, 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0* - Ships from California. In STOCK: Computers & Accessories
(Amazon reviews start with "Excellent upgrade for Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro" and "A must have upgrade to the Yoga 2 Pro from Lenovo!")
and NOT this similarly named product:
Amazon.com: Intel Network 7260.HMWG WiFi Wireless-AC 7260 H/T Dual Band 2x2 AC+Bluetooth HMC: Computers & Accessories
That said, I doubt I'll be buying a Torx T4 or T5 screwdriver and trying to do this myself. Maybe I'll watch a YouTube video or two, see if there's anything major about these "snap-on antenna wires" mentioned as the "difficult" part by a couple people in their Amazon reviews.
But, still, I know a local guy who does PC repair, and I'll bet he already has the right screwdriver, and I wouldn't mind giving him some business.
Hopefully, this post will either be helpful to people, or that someone will correct me if there's anything wrong with my information.
Thanks. -
I was really torn between keeping my refurbished yoga and switching to the apple macbook air. I just did not want to have to be making modifications to the registry etc. However, in the end I decided to keep it and purchased the AC wifi card mentioned in the above thread. I followed the youtube video and it was very easy. I had a little trouble reattaching the leads to the card but got it done and I can notice a difference in upload and down load speeds as I connected to my 5MHz signal. The only remaining issue is that it does get warm on my lap but overall I am enjoying the experience of using this laptop.
-
Question: Between now and the time I replace my wifi card, are there any other tips on things I can do (other than have the latest BIOS and drivers) to improve my Wi-Fi? -- specifically, the fact that it intermittently cuts out completely?
In case this detail is relevant, I have an Anker wireless keyboard and mouse I've been experimenting with -- folding the Yoga into Tent mode, placing it on a 4" tall wooden riser, and typing on the wireless keyboard. It uses a USB transmitter, not Bluetooth.
I recall, when I was first reading through the hundreds of posts in this thread, that a few mentioned things that I thought I might try. But searching the thread for "Wi-Fi" isn't getting me back to the suggestions that I think I remember.
One bit of advice was "Turn off IPv6; you don't need it." But can someone remind me of, or point me to, any others?
Thanks in advance. -

I actually tracked down a couple of the posts I remembered involving Wi-Fi. One post was actually a text file full of notes kept by a pretty meticulous guy who shared them with the group. (Sorry, I don't remember his name; I only have the link to his text file):
http://forum.notebookreview.com/att...1389722881-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread-yoga2.txt
His text file also includes a pointer to this URL:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread-155.html
And on that page, UncleSpam's message #1550 has some good Wi-Fi tips, like disabling the Network Adapter setting that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
playboyzay, I gather you unchecked for both Network Adapter and Bluetooth? I think that's what I'll do for now, hoping that it doesn't mean I'll kill the battery on my Bluetooth mouse by preventing it from ever "turning off" or something. -
-
BUT... it seems like there's an easy workaround for it.
If I want to move the Chrome window around, I have to grab within the TOP LEFT part of the title bar. Specifically, in my case, I have to be in the top 40% and the left 40% of the title bar (apparently related to the fact that I'm using a zoom of 250%).
Despite the cursor displaying incorrectly (showing the up-down arrow icon, as though I'm going to increase the height of the Chrome window), moving the window works.
Further analysis:
I'm sure this is related to the "Zoom" level I chose for my Windows display (i.e., the percentage I chose under "Control Panel > Display > Change the size of all items"), and the fact that Chrome is mixing up the virtual number of pixels with the actual number of pixels.
I think Chrome sees that its title bar is a "virtual" 1000px by 45px, and then sets the target area for dragging/moving to be an "actual" 1000px by 45px. Since everything on my screen is blown up to 250%, that means that the "actual" target area is only 40% of the width of the title bar.
Bottom Line:
If I want to move Chrome around by its title bar...
When my "Zoom" is set to 250%, I have to grab within the top left 40%.
When my "Zoom" is set to 200%, I have to grab within the top left 50%.
When my "Zoom" is set to 150%, I have to grab within the top left 66%
I hope this is helpful to someone. -
In any case, I now have the Power Management checkbox unchecked in 3 different parts of Device Manager:
1. Bluetooth,
2. Network adapters, and
3. Universal Serial Bus controllers.
I'm still not sure what side effects I might get. For example, will #1 cause my laptop's battery to drain faster, or the Bluetooth mouse's battery? -
Anybody notice Energy Manager using a lot of memory lately? It's using 1.5GB on mine as if there's a memory leak.
-
I'm still getting a lot of glitches recently in chrome with hidpi, flashing menus/text sort of thing. Happening in all the latest versions of beta/dev/canary and release versions of chrome.
I'm using the latest intel graphics driver, not the current lenovo release. Is anyone getting weird things happening in chrome with the lenovo graphics driver? Mostly happens to me now with the gmail site. -

Has anyone come up with a solution to a High DPI scaling media player?
VLC as well as Windows Media Player won't scale on my Yoga2Pro with full resolution and 200% scaling enabled.
Especially trying to hit a Play/Pause Button in both programs via the touchscreen is almost impossible without proper scaling.
Any ideas? -
Free, no bloat, heaps of useful options, support for all possible codecs and low CPU usage. Works perfectly on my Y2P at any scaling.
http://download.cnet.com/Daum-Potplayer/3000-13632_4-75587055.htmlThe Peanut Master and Szczepanik like this. -
Thanks for the hint. Looks good. I will try it. Any other suggestions?
-
I'll probably try Daum PotPlayer as well.
As for VLC, if you want to use it while you're in laptop mode, you can just use the keyboard shortcuts. (Spacebar for Play or Pause, N for Next, P for Previous, etc.)
You can also customize any keys Preferences > Hotkeys) to do any keyboard shortcut you want. I program the Up and Down arrows to adjust volume. I like left and right for "Slow Motion" and "Fast Motion."
I actually dedicated the whole bottom row of letters for Jump backwards a whole lot, a medium bit, a little bit, then Jump forward a little bit, a medium bit, a whole lot.
One other key for Full Screen, and one key for Show Title on Screen, and I feel like there's maybe one more.
That said... I'll still probably try Daum PotPlayer. Thanks for the lead, splus. -
And as for the shortcuts - PotPlayer shines there. I usually assign these keyboard/mouse/touch shortcuts:
One click/tap for play/pause
Double click/tap for toggle full screen on/off
Up/down keys or mouse scroll up/down or swipe a finger up/down over the screen is volume up/down
Left/right keys or swipe a finger left/right over the screen is fast backward/forward
These are the most used shortcuts, and they work perfectly with keyboard, mouse, touchpad or touch screen... Super user friendly.
And then there's combination of keyboard and mouse shortcuts with so many different functions to play with... Lots of technical and general options, but it's worth going through everything the first time to set it up. Once you set it up to your liking you'll really enjoy it as a video player. -
How is everyone updating their Intel Graphics drivers? The Lenovo ones are still from September 2013 and whenever I try to download them from Intel and install them I get:
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."
What's the work around and how are the newest Intel driver? -

Thanks for the help. I've been annoyed at having to use chrome with scaling disabled for a while now. I just wanted to add that it appears you *must* use the chrome beta for this to work. I attempted to do all of this with the current chrome release with no real luck. Downloaded the beta and instantly everything looks beautiful and crisp! -
-
Hello,
Just got my refurb Y2P from best buy and did a fresh install of 8.1. I am going through the thread and applying any tips and tweaks that are mentioned (color profile, chrome hidpi settings, yellow and flicker fixes, etc).
I remember seeing something about leaving the battery charged at 60%. What is the benefit of this? Is this that conservative mode in the energy manager?
Also any other tweaks and tips would be welcomed too. Thanks! -
1. KMPlayer works 100% and it scales just fine.
2. VLC + Metrox_vlc_v2.1.2 skin - very usable at 200% scaling. -
Question for whoever has the very latest Chrome:
Is the title bar working correctly? Are you able to drag the Chrome window using any part of the title bar (and not just the top left, like I described in message #2662 -- http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9654559 ) ?
Can you reorder the tabs with your mouse?
I found that, at 3200x1800, it was completely impossible for me to grab one tab in Chrome and drag it to the left or right to reposition it. That might be a little thing, but it was enough to make me give up on 3200x1800 for now.
(If the 1920x1080 Yoga 2 non-Pro were half a pound lighter and came off the shelf with an SSD for the price I paid for my Yoga 2 Pro, I'd probably take it in a minute! But, for now, I'll wait for Windows and the world to catch up with HiDpi, and then I'm sure I'll be glad I bought the Pro.) -
I can tell you what I did. If I were a little more sure it was all correct, I might even try to compile it into a single post:
SETUP SEQUENCE:
I asked a similar question when I got my refurbished Yoga 2 Pro, even listing the sequence in which I planned to do all my setup:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9651997
Although no one ever confirmed that my sequence was correct, it seemed to work all right.
SCREEN RESOLUTION & CHROME:
Next, I posted a follow-up as I tried to contend with screen resolution:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9653446
However, at the moment, I'm not happy with how the 3200x1800 turned out, and I'm trying out a more simple solution: 1920x1080, 125%, and no HiDpi for Chrome.
WI-FI:
Toward the goal of improving Wi-Fi, I turned off a few (three) of the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" checkboxes in Device Manager:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9654419
I also posted another message, showing links to the Wi-Fi card that people keep recommending putting into your new Yoga 2 Pro:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/735166-yoga-2-pro-owners-thread.html#post9653492
YELLOWS:
I never bothered to do anything to make my yellows look more yellow.
THE "60% BATTERY" THING:
I sort of understand the "60%" thing now. It comes down to: If you're going to always have your Yoga plugged in, then you can set the battery to never charge above 60%, and it will make the battery last longer.
I never know when I might want to take my Yoga on the road and use it battery-only, and doing this method means I'd either have to accept only having 60% battery, or plan in advance a couple hours before I decide to unplug. I have no idea how much longer it makes the battery last, and I haven't pursued that further.
CONCLUSION:
Sorry if this post contains too many links to other posts.
I hope some of this is helpful. And I especially hope that if any of it is dead wrong, people will correct me. I'm not afraid to come back and edit any of this. -
I didn't use this 60% thing on a Samsung X9 I've owned and killed the battery in less than 2 years. I have my Y2P for over 6 months now and no wear at all.
Very good feature

Regarding chrome with hidpi what didn't you like in particular? I am running that latest beta with the hidpi reg hack and the 2 flags your posted about and it seems fine. I also turned off display scaling in the compatibility options on the executable.
There are some small glitches still (like tiny extension icons) but they seem tolerable to me.
I really do like this high res screen. I think i'd rather switch back to firefox than lower the resolution.
Edit: Read your reasons in another post. With the current beta I can move tabs around with hidpi mode on. -
Also, can you tell me... what version number is your latest beta?
Thanks. -
Well, I use 180% Windows scaling, don't know if the scaling percentage has anything to do with those issues. Maybe Chrome loses its "coordinates" if Win scaling is too high? What's you Win scaling? Try to change it...
I have Hi DPI enabled in Win registry, few more Chrome flags enabled (esp. "Enable DirectWrite" for proper font spacing), and Chrome is perfect at Yoga's native 3200x1800. IE Modern still kicks Chrome's a** when it comes to battery life, that's what I use when I'm outside and need to use the laptop for longer times.
I really don't know why would anyone want to use any resolution other than native 3200x1800, considering the amazing sharpness. Everything works perfectly, bar Photoshop and few other small apps. Any 1920x1080 panel is literally blurry when compared to this one... My next laptop will definitely have 4K resolution. After trying this there's no going back... -
Thanks for posting your version number, and your suggestion not to use the Chrome shortcut properties to disable scaling.
About your comment, "I really don't know why would anyone want to use any resolution other than native 3200x1800," my answer would be: if it caused apps to misbehave :-o
I'm set to 3200x1800, 180%.
I'm on Chrome beta version "35.0.1916.114 beta-m"
I ran the registry patch and confirmed that high-dpi-support is set to 1
I have both Direct Write and LCD Text Antialiasing enabled.
I can't drag a Chrome tab one position to the left. Nor can I use the right side of the title bar to move the window. Or drag downward at the bottom of the Chrome window to make it taller.
One thing I forgot to mention: The inability to reorder Chrome tabs wasn't the biggest problem I was having. My biggest problem actually came with YouTube staggering, and also freezing up my (wireless) mouse, and doing other weird stuff that it only seemed to do when I had all these reg tweaks and flags going.
It might have been a coincidence that the YouTube / staggering / mouse problem happened when it did. It seemed to go away when I turned off the reg setting and flags, but that was also when I switched from one wireless mouse to another, and probably did other things to contaminate the experiment as well.
20 MINUTES LATER... FOLLOW-UP:
I upgraded from "35.0.1916.114 beta-m" to "36.0.1985.5 dev-m," and it was a great success.
I'm now set to 3200x1800, 200%.
I'm on Chrome beta version "36.0.1985.5 dev-m"
I ran the registry patch and confirmed that high-dpi-support is set to 1
I have both Direct Write and LCD Text Antialiasing enabled.
Rearranging Chrome tabs, resizing, dragging and moving all work perfectly.
Whatever other problems I was having with YouTube staggering, etc., I'll have to troubleshoot separately.
Thanks all. -
Oh yeah, there IS a problem of flashing and staggering of parts of web pages, and funny enough, this happens especially on some Google's own sites. I think it started to happen few weeks ago, must have been a new Chrome update. Yes, Chrome has its issues on Windows, especially on Hi DPI computers (it's not just Y2P, but almost all modern ultrabooks have 1920x1080 and higher resolutions), and Google is working its way through them.
It's actually really pathetic and saddening to see how browser scrolling is so smooth on both Android and iOS smartphones(!), which have much weaker processors, but still all choppy on Windows (except IE 11, which is perfectly smooth, real delight to use if it wouldn't be so basic). It almost feels as if the mind frame of Windows developers and programmers is the stuttering is a "normal" thing on Windows computers, but shouldn't happen on smartphones.
I wonder when will things start to change... -
The only workaround that i've found (apart from not using chrome) is the Gmail offline chrome app. Install it from chrome extensions, it'll add a Gmail app to the 'Apps' menu in your bookmarks bar. It opens Gmail in a tab, or new window if you pin it to your taskbar, in an interface without the glitches. Actually quicker and useful for the off-line access, so might stick with it anyway.
Here's the link to the extension -
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gmail-offline/ejidjjhkpiempkbhmpbfngldlkglhimk -
So I did what you did and changed to the dev channel and now it is fixed for me too.
I can also confirm that youtube also has weird stuttering issue for me as well. -
Dear friends,
I have been owning this wonderful laptop/tablet/convertible (Yoga 2 Pro) for more than 6 months and, since the beginning, people are having trouble with the stunning resolution (3200 * 1800) and Chrome.
I don't want to start a battle Firefox vs Chrome, but I just want to give you my experience: I haven't had any trouble with Firefox and the max resolution of our Yoga.
Moreover, the recent update (version 29) brings a nice and clean look very similar to Chrome, and, in my opinion, even better (less space between each tab, but still well separated). Not to mention that Chrome spies on you a lot and is not open source...
A word to the wise ! -
Question about Intel Proset / Intel Wireless-N 7260 version
(after the quoted text)
I've ordered, and will soon be installing, the wireless card mentioned above. Also, I think we'll be upgrading to an AC router as well. I mention this as background, in case it affects the answer to my question today:
Do I have an out-of-date version of my Intel drivers.
Under Device Manager, here's what I see under Intel(R) Wireless-N 7260 Properties:
Driver Provider: Intel
Driver Date: 9/19/2013
Driver Version: 16.5.3.6
16.5.3.6 is the "Kona" version (whatever that means) from the Lenovo site, dated 07-Nov-2013.)
On the Intel page, I see that they're up to version 17.0.0.0:
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software — Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software downloads
17.0.0.0 is dated 20-Mar-2014
It certainly *looks* like that version is higher than what's on the Lenovo site. But maybe it doesn't work well with Lenovo machines, and that's why it's not on their site...? Maybe I should only stick with ones from the Lenovo site...?
Also... Any thoughts on what AC router I should buy? I've always bought LinkSys in the past, and I'm familiar with their setup screens, etc., so I suppose I'd favor that brand. Right now, we have Linksys access points and Linksys Powerline adapters, but we're kind of hoping that with a new, improved router (moved from the far side of the house to the center of the house), we can get rid of all those extra devices.
So, those are the two big questions:
1. Has anyone downloaded 17.0.0.0 to their Yoga 2 Pro and had success with it?
2. Any suggestions for a good (new, current, up to date) AC router?
Thanks. -
I'm using 17.0.3.2 version of the driver and it's absolutely fine.

I have the same and no more drops since

News about Adobe Photoshop.
"New version of Photoshop CC is designed specifically for use with a touchscreen and stylus. Icons and other UI elements have been doubled in size so that they're easier to tap with a free finger and gestures like pinch-to-zoom work flawlessly.
What's more, it should be ready to support high-density displays.
The lack of touch and high-density display support has been a bit of a pain point. And don't worry, there's "more on the way" according to Michael Goff

My Note 2 to you -
For what it's worth, I just uninstalled every program made by Intel, then installed the latest graphics driver from Intel's site, and both performance and battery life have increased dramatically. Couldn't tell you specifically why, but I was getting fed up with the sluggish behavior and this seems to have done the trick. I also disabled DPTF in bios. If I want to safe battery life, I just switch to stable mode in Lenovo power manager, which seems to do a better job anyway.
-
I don't need throttling in tablet mode, so wouldn't mind disabling DPTF...
I had a problem with my hibernating - it would take few times for laptop to power on when hibernated, and then hibernation session would be lost - and it looks like it got solved after reinstalling Intel's DPTF driver.
EDIT: Actually, it looks like my hibernation issue wasn't solved by reinstalling DPTF driver.
I uninstalled bunch of things, including Lenovo Energy Manager, and without it resuming from hibernation started to work properly.
But, after I reinstalled Energy Manager the hibernation issue came back - Windows would power itself off one second after trying to resume from hibernation, and the next press on power button would start Windows from a cold start.
It looks like the culprit was Energy Manager...
So, here's another question - is it safe to uninstall the Energy Manager??
Is the battery life worse without it? Does it affect the system in any way?
I don't use Lenovo battery plans anyway, and the only thing that's beneficial for me in that Energy Manager is the fast charge - battery charges at much faster rate with this option enabled. -
I know this is a owner's thread and most people will defend the Y2P to the end.. but before I buy one, would anybody seriously have me consider a different Ultrabook? I'm not really happy about the 1800p screen, I think it's pointless and pure showboating.. it hurts battery life driving that screen. So then people would say "Look at the 1080p Acer S7".. I hate Acer as a brand, they feel like junk to me, although the S7 does seem to have a higher build quality.
The only other Ultrabook that looks decent to me would be the Sony Vaio Pro.. 1080p and very good battery life.. and an amazing 2.34 lb weight. And offers a sheet battery and still is lighter with sheet battery than most other Ultrabooks. Downside? Price.
Upsides for Y2P.. It's local at Best Buy, it's only 1199 for i7/8gb/256ssd.. Crazy price for the specs. Tablet/Tent modes offers more fun ways to use it too.
For the price, I almost just think the Y2P is impossible to beat for the specs you get..
So, seriously, not looking for defenders, would you consider a different ultrabook if you could do it all over again?
Last thought is the Asus UX32 with 840m Nvidia graphics in a Ultrabook factor seems like a nice well rounded machine. -
How about looking at the Yoga 2 13 for $829 at BestBuy. It has a FHD screen and does not have any of the Y2P screen issues. In fact, one reviewer scored the Y 2 13 higher than the Y2P because of the lower contrast and color fidelity compared to the Y 2 13. If you buy the one with the 500GB SSHD, you should be able to add a M.2 type 2280 SSD to the empty M.2 slot in the Y 2 13. My Y 2 13 has a 500GB SSHD and a Crucial M550 M.2 128GB SSD ($99) with a max read of 550MB/sec and a max write of 370MB/sec. This combo got a PCMark 7 score over 4900 because of the screen speed and SSD speed.
One owner added a 480GB SSD for a total storage of 980GB.
