Well, it's in my cart but says store pickup only and when I try to select a store (I tried several states I can possibly get to!), they all say unavailable.

Hence the call to my local best buy...

Anyone have issues with getting a two finger tap to right click to work (bringing up the context menu)? It has never worked for me, so I end up clicking the lower right portion of the touchpad. It's checked in the Synaptics options and driving me nuts!

You have to go into the registry and change it, it's not on by default.

change HKEY_USERS\\Software\Synaptics\SynTP\TouchPadPS2\2FingerTapAction from 0 to 2 and then reboot

Well, the good news is the delay will give Lenovo time to correct the color, so if it is not fixed by my delayed delivery date of 11/21 a cancel is easier than a return :)

I called and the rep told me that they are waiting for a part to ship before they can assemble and ship your machine. i7/8/256 in my case. Obviously need to take it with a grain of salt but maybe they are trying to fix something? Obviously the other possibility is that it's a plain old supply chain issue.

Trying your advice now. A few days ago, while using my bluetooth mouse and keyboard, my bluetooth option in devices disappeared until I installed the driver from lenovo. Not sure how that happened. That seems to be when all the connection issues began. Thanks Don1 and Led Zappa for the advice. Hope this works.

Best Buy has been hit or miss. Yesterday I had the i7 in my cart and as I was attempting to pay for the unit it was removed because they were no longer available. About twenty minutes later they came back "in stock" and I jumped on it...but then the fraud department at my credit card company wanted to verify the charge...the delay caused me to lose the unit for the second time. Finally about an hour later it came back in stock again and I jumped on it as fast as possible. I received a tracking number this morning. Best Buy's systems stink so you have to keep trying at different times of the day.

That would be good but no use for me - if I don't get it by 11/11/13 (and I'm pretty sure I won't at this point), I won't be back in the US until at least next June. And my t500 is over 4 years old!

Maybe..I replaced their whole interface with Synaptics own which offers a lot more options. If you want to try it just use the one for windows 8. It's a little backleveled and you will have to uninstall the current one before it lets you install this but like I said you get a lot more options.

Mine got pushed back from shipping out on 10/29 to 11/14. I need my laptop before I fly out to IT Nation on the 12th.

Too bad Best Buy doesn't show that it is shipping anymore, and it is unavailable on all local store.

Best Buy gets shipments at stores all week long, some get on Wed/Fri others Tue/Thur.... I would call and ask what day the trucks come in stores in your area. They stock in the evening, but while they are still open so I would check inventory on the evenings of the days the trucks come to a particular store. They are going to continue to get stock every week.
You have plenty of time to get one at BB before you go back to wherever.

Hey all; been following along silently as much as I can as I tried to make a decision what laptop to update my 5 yr old Dell Inspiron to. After much debate, I settled on the Y2P. I'm in Canada and grabbed the 8GB/256GB SSD/i5 model from the Lenovo Canada site - got it for $1100 with my computer's Lenovo discount. Some quick questions that might not have been answered:

1 - Will I regret not getting the i7? It is mainly video editing (which I do minimally) where this would be beneficial?
2 - Will the old case work on the new Y2P? Canada Computers | Notebooks, Netbooks & Tablets | Lenovo 13'' Yoga Slot-In Case
3 - Is the screen protector worthwhile (smudges/glare/etc)?
4 - Any recommended first steps for first time use?

I plan to check out the owner's thread once it comes (it said 7 business days, so hopefully for next weekend).

    Cheers!

I ordered the i7/512/8GB on 10/18 and tracking says it should be here tomorrow.

I also managed to get one of the i7/215/8gb floor models that people had been snagging from best buy last week, but figured i'd upgrade to the 512 with that SCOUTS coupon that had been going around. Will be returning it soon, but has been a great test model.

only wish battery life was more. Probably wont be too much of an issue, but I was really hoping haswell was going to make the yoga more battery friendly (8hrs instead of 5)

Ouch! Just looked online and sometime today my delivery date (orange i7) was changed from 11/5 to 11/21.

I could do BB I guess but two issues

    (1) not orange - not a huge issue, but I preferred the orange

    (2) no inhome service - I sprang for the in home service buying it from Lenovo. My son has a notebook from Lenovo from in home service and we just had someone here today doing a repair. He uses his notebook all the time for college and with in home service he merely had to leave it home for the day for the repair. Without it, he loses use of his computer for much longer. So I sort of hate to lose the in home service by buying it from BB.

    Edit:

I looked online at BB and while you can order online it says they won't ship and you have to do in store pick up and no stores in the area have any available so even that isn't an option....

I spoke with Lenovo chat rep and they said once you register your laptop from a retailer with Lenovo you can purchase their warranty upgrades. Haven't done it yet, but plan on it.

I installed these drivers too. Definitely more options but I feel like it changes the motion of the cursor, so I had to go back and make some adjustments. I notice that the tap to drag feature is also not working correctly. The is the one were you tap, tap again and then drag the object to the location and lift to release. Let me know if you're seeing the same thing.

I had no idea this was possible. BB charges way more than Lenovo on warranty. I would definitely get the Lenovo warranty with this information. How would we go about doing this exactly. Btw my bluetooth seems stable now. Thanks.

Like I said, I haven't done it, but the chat rep said it would be an option I would see when I register. I will probably do it tomorrow since my 15 days with BB is Sunday and I want to make sure I can get that warranty, but I'm not to worried about it, chat rep sounded confident.

Ok so this is interesting. I am happy that you are getting yours tomorrow. But I ordered an orange i7/8/256 on 10/17 and the estimated delivery is 11/21 ?! Any ideas anyone? Could it be the orange color or 256gb because that's all I can think of.

Well, I picked up surface pro 2 today, since I have the yoga within return window still. I am actually liking it more than I thought I would. The screen is smaller than I want, but MS is heading in the right direction with this thing. Nice quality device and zero color issues.

Out of curiosity, why did you pick the Surface 2 Pro over the Vaio Tap 11? I was deciding between the Tap 11 and Y2P, but like have a bigger screen.

The silver i7/8/256 one I ordered on 10/17 shipped ground today from North Carolina. Estimated delivery is 10/30 :/. I ordered it through Lenovo for the 3 years in-home with ADP. After all the discounts the total will be ~ 1290 after tax.

I read a lot of forums about the surface devices. I also am not a fan of Sony. The reviews I read about the surface 2 were stating the great build quality and long battery life. I decided to take the dive as quality is very important to me. From having it a couple of hours it is very smooth, very fast and a very good build quality.

One more thing, you can see QC from MS is a lot better than the attention grabbing display Lenovo put on the yoga while sacrificing quality and simple color accuracy you would find on any cheap laptop. People might not like it but this will probably be the real culprit in the end. Along with a hell of lot less battery then we originally expected. When they are forced to increase brightness to make it semi-ok the real fools might be us consumers with our 3-4 hour batteries,

I ordered it with the SCOUTS coupon (20%) after going through shopdiscover.com (5%) and using discover card (another 5%). Then I called to cancel my order and they gave me another (~ $72) 5% off to keep it. I just have to send them an email after it charges and my support rep will process the credit. Basically I got the warranty for free which make me quite happy. Though this will max out the 5% cash back on my discover for this quarter but I don't use it unless it's something crazy like this so it's all good.

I'm in the same boat. When I ordered it was supposed to ship on 10/29 and be here 11/5. I never got any notice of delay, but I checked today and the estimated delivery is 11/21 now. That ticks me off quite a bit. If I can find a silver one at BB I might buy it. I had used the scouts coupon so the price was the same as BB but the local BB was out of stock and I preferred the orange anyway.

Online it says estimated ship dates for the orange are 11/11 and for the silver it is 11/1 (this is for the 256). The silver i7 with 512 is shown as 11/11.

However, on my order page it says my est. ship date is 11/14 which irritates me since I ordered mine a week ago.

I'm not sure. The i7/256 Orange is said to ship on 11/11 (although my order says mine ordered a week ago will now ship on 11/14). The i7/256 silver is said to ship on 11/1 which does make it sound like the color is difference. However, the i7/512 silver is also shown as shipping on 11/11.

    Hi,

I'm considering buying Yoga 2 Pro, but after I read through this and the Yoga 2 Pro owners threads I still have a few questions.

1.) How is the resolution working out for normal day stuff? Browsing internet, writing Word documents, ... I spent most of my time developing web applications so wouldn't mind if anyone can share their experience with that.

I have experience with full HD resolution on 13" screen, but haven't had a chance to try anything bigger.

2.) 256/512GB version - is it worth to pay additional 300€ for bigger storage, or should 256 GB suffice for next few years? I guess that mostly depends on what I do, but would like to read your opinion.

3.) I'm an occasional gamer (I mostly play League of Legends) and wonder if integrated graphics is good enough for this?

The resolution seems to work out fine. It's actually probably overkill for most applications, but in general no problems. The worst is Chrome. If you use that, in the current version, it doesn't handle the high dpi stuff very well. Your taps will be way off. You can enter "chrome://flags" in the url field and enable high dpi mode, which handles that, but causes some other glitchy stuff in the UI. (There are also some other touch settings in those flags you might want to check). But reportedly, the next version of Chrome may fix a lot of these issues.

    2. As you said, depends what you put on it. If you're used to a 500gb or 1tb drive, you may have to adjust your habits for 256. My last machine was a Surface Pro with just 128gb though. I also had a 64gb micro sd card. I adjusted to it pretty well and never ran into a problem, so 256 seems roomy right now.

    3. Not much of a gamer, so can't answer this one personally, but others have reported that older games seem to work fine.

I just bought this mouse: Amazon.com: Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse (H3S-00003): Electronics

I paired it with my Y2P and started using it with no issues. Within 1 minute of using it, it lost connection and now I can't get it to work. I've tried removing the device, rebooting, etc...but it's stuck in my system as a mouse that isn't connected and it doesn't see it as an available device when I hit the pair button on the mouse now.

Anyone else run into issues with Bluetooth mice?

If anyone is in the west Texas area, I'm thinking about returning mine to Best Buy but if you want, I can sell it to you instead. Just throwing it out there. I really really love this machine and want it to work so bad but I need my colors. Anyway, anyone who may want it, you'll have to decide by next Wednesday because that's when my 15 days is up at Best Buy

    Hello All,

I currently have a fairly new Lenovo Y500 but due to it's weight and awful touchpad, I'm selling it and I am looking into either the Yoga 2 Pro or the new 13" macbook pro. As I won't be playing games much (I have a gaming PC), this will be mostly for traveling and work. My main concern is the touchpad. I don't want to have to carry around a second mouse so if the touchpad is bad, and usually on windows notebooks it is, I can't purchase this laptop. So what are your impressions of the touchpad?

They haven't invented the trackpad that isn't bad and that includes Apple's and any other you might come up with so I still carry around a mouse.
