Ordered t400 on 8/5. Currently status is still "in process". Ordered with 4 cell and bluetooth. Any idea why my laptop is not shipped yet?

 

I'm in the same boat, with the same config, so don't worry too much. Kind of annoying the 8/5 orders haven't shipped yet, while people after us have, but hopefully they should be shipping out on the 26th or so.

 

WOW! Just got a knock on the door this morning from UPS with my T400. So to recap. Ordered on Tuesday NIGHT and received on the following Monday MORNING. And this was with FREE Shipping, nothing extra. I'm impressed. This is a lot better than the 3-4 weeks I was expecting for a custom build. My 3rd laptop but my first thinkpad. I can't wait to open it up and play!!

 

Wow lucky you. I have not even received one single email from Lenovo after the initial one.

Just asked again for about the 100th time now, and they said my ship date was still aug. 26th... which is odd because last time I asked it was sep. 1st. That's good at least.

 

Ordered my first laptop a T61

Order date was 8/23 and it still says in process with a ship date of 9/8

 

I called last week before I went on my vacation and they said it was gonna ship the next day. Well, it's been a week now and still I haven't heard from them. I hesitate calling them again because I'm using the SPP program and I don't want them to give me any problems. They haven't even charged my Bank of America account. This is really2 weird.

I am in the same boat with regards to the Credit Card processing. They told me it was sent to the credit department with a priority notification.

Halo^3...just call them. they wont ask you about SPP.

 

They don't ask about CPP. I ordered on 8/5 and I have an estimated shipping time of 9/2. I've called 2-3 times now and it's different everytime. I got a 8/20 once than 8/26 now 9/2.

 

Maybe you should count yourself lucky because the estimated shipping date changes. Mine has not been updated since day one. Emailed them a few times and they took 1 week to reply. Even then their reply is not helpful at all. They just asked me to call the cust serv number.

 

Just called Lenovo. I was told that my t400 is going to ship on the week of September 2nd. There is a backorder issue with the 4 cell battery. Any changes to the order will result in more delay. -_-

 

i had a problem with the 9 cell i ordered on 8/5. ESD was 8/26 online but everyone i called at lenovo said it showed 9/28. i changed my order to a 6 cell and he put it into expidited handling and the ESD should be sometime in the next week he said...not sure if that will happen my confidence in their "word" is close to none.

 

I am starting to lose my confidence in this company too. I bought their laptop because my friend recommends it. Their email support takes a week to reply and even then they are not helpful. I had to do price matching because they dropped the price of my notebook by almost 500 bucks in 2 weeks and now I'm stuck with their 9600 processor because of the typo early on. Price match won't let me do the 9400 processor.

 

Ugh. Now the 4 cell is back ordered? Can't win with the batteries lol.

 

Yea, maybe they should have a no-battery option!

BY the way, do you wanna know how welt build is a T40? my old T40 was taken and drowned by a Turbion (tsunami in a river lol) and after 4 hours in water, only the screen and processor screw up. The chassis, and the information are just there, laughing at the river.

 

Wow, November is out of control. I really want this T400, no way in hell I'd wait till November though. I'm sure the extra battery is messing up your order, I would call and take that out and see if it gets better.

 

How long did it take for Lenovo to bill your account? I would think it would be instant but they still have my order as "in process" and have not billed my bank account yet. I wonder if using paypal is causing the delay?

 

they dont "bill" your account until the system ships.The 24-48 hour hold is to check with the bank to make sure you have the credit to buy the system and to also verify that the shipping address you gave to lenovo is listed on the credit card...

 

Argh, they said mine would ship first week of Sept. Ordered 8/6 with 9-cell. I leave for school on 9/5, so this will be interesting.

 

Actually, everything will ship (acording to lenovo.com) in 09/08. Only the battery will ship in november. I'm not in a hurry, but hell is waaaaay far.

About the status> In process. I bought the laptop today in the afternoon, (like 6 hours ago), so this is normal, I think.

I don't think they are dumb enough to put a laptop for november. I hope they don't.

I'll be notifying all you about the order status.

BTW tzcomwiz, everybody that bought the 9 cell get delayed.

 

I ordered my T400 (P8400, WXGA+ LED BL, 6 Cell Batt) on 8/19/08. Gave me an estimated ship date of 9/2/08. Today (8/25/08) I got an email saying my order has shipped. Seeing that some people who ordered early august are still waiting almost makes me feel bad.

 

I bet wait times will be less for orders placed later this year. Going to wait for the next big sale when Wimax is introduced.

BurtStanton, are you sure your notebook shipped and not just like the lock and mouse?

Because that's what I thought at first and then realized the actual notebook didnt ship.

 

order 8/9, est 8/28, shipped 8/24. 2 days ups, which means it should be delivered today 8/26.
but ups says "Rescheduled Delivery: 08/27/2008"

How do you check your status?

 

lenovo gave me an email about the order statuswhich contains a link of ups "Track Shipment"

 

The tracking info says the package is 3.6kg so I am assuming it's the laptop.

 

I ordered my T400 (P8600, LED display, 6-cell battery) on 8/24. Estimated ship date is 9/8. I'll update this post when it actually ships.

Edit 9/1: Just got the shipment confirmation email. Took just over a week from order to shipment, and they shipped it a week earlier than their estimate. I'm pleased.

 

Nice to see some people got theirs... I'm one of the poor saps that ordered the 5th and keeps getting pushed back. I'm sure it's something stupid, but last week got told it would ship today and when calling to verify (today) got told it'll ship some time next week now...

Half tempted to cancel, reorder and probably get the dang thing before the 1st one would have actually shipped.

And I believe that is like all you say, IF you bought your T400 between 5 and 10, you won't see your laptop untill september. Nobody knows why this happens?

very rarely do they actually update the online status...u have to call in to get the actual one... the one they always put online is exactly 3 weeks after you order it. it usually doesnt change. they call the date they put online an "artificial shipdate"....wth is that supposed to mean???

Chinese warehouses. I have heard some people mention Shanghai sometimes, but I don't know for sure.

me too. just received a confirmation email from lenovo for my already cancelled 8/5 T500 order which says "Your order has been received and is being processed."!!!!!!!!

i cancelled this T500 order on 8/9 and ordered a T400 which is on its way. Oh, gosh, just hope my current T400 could come tomorrow. i paid for 2-day ups and should have received it yesterday or today.
