build/ship wait time??

Im not sure.. I ordered via cpp as well on 8/18, and just received my confirmation email today -> order sent to be built. ship date hasnt changed since.. still 9/1.

 

I ordered mine with visaperk on 8/19 , called lenovo today sales rep. told me estimate shipping date is 9/5.

 

Well, I've ordered via EPP and I can tell you that there isn't anything fast(er) about my situation.

Ordered a T61 on 7/29, original ship date was 8/12. It's been delayed both verbally and on the website to 8/15, 8/18, 8/21 (small pattern here), 8/26, and now 9/4. The cause of my month-long saga is a 9-cell battery shortage, and calling them every 2-3 days along with "being placed on a critical list" hasn't done anything. I did find out, though, that there is now a 6-cell battery shortage, a 1 GB RAM shortage (just a tad skeptical of this one), and a DVD-ROM shortage. In my case, only the 9-cell battery shortage, and I guess the 1 GB RAM shortage (if this is real, which I doubt it is), apply to me.

As for my situation, pharmacy school started on August 18, and laptops are required for class. I've been "getting by" by writing extremely quickly and transcribing my notes onto printouts after class, but apparently we will have in-class quizzes on laptops soon, and not having a laptop is not an excuse, so my grade might suffer in the near future. Thank god for Lenovo compensating me $50 though. I can contribute it towards my tuition next semester.

maybe instead of winning so many gold medals in the olympics, they should have focused on building laptops!!!

well you did buy a t61 n not a t400/500, they probly have a bunch left in stock to ship immediately

congrats outbreak, atleast you somewhat confirm the availability of 6 cell batteries for those of us who got it like me =) . Mine is still in the build stage right now, it gives me some hope that it will ship "on time" if not earlier.

 

I ordered through CPP on August 5th for the x200 and it is not shipped yet, so CPP means nothing.

 

ordered a t400 through epp on 8/13 with a ship date of 8/27. was told it would ship this past monday. i called yesterday and they said 9/3, the website today is saying 9/11. this is with a 9 cell.

 

Has anyone that has ordered a T500 with a 9 cell received their laptop yet?
I'm trying if people with recent orders are getting their laptops before those who had their orders earlier.

I was told by service rep. that the 9 cell was on 2-3 week backorder and that my order would ship out 9/24. I placed my original order 8/8.

I decided to cancel and create a new order for a t500 will 6 cell that has an est. ship date of 9/15.

 

^When you cancel did they tell you that it'd take 1-2 business days for the cancellation request to process?

 

Ordered T400 on 8/16, said 8/28, and now says 9/11. 6 cell.

This rather really pissed me off considering I'll be laptopless for an engineering/technology university for over two weeks.

T500 ordered on the 21st, estimate ship date sept 5th, now bumped to 20th.... ffs. Looks like I might cancel the order n get a **** macbook pro when the new version comes out.

y not, I need a computer and since the T500 isn't coming til end of next month I'm looking for decent alternatives, and no I will NOT buy DEll/HP or some bulky *** crap =p

 

maybe like checkout some retails stores soon (At least for t400), if you can live with non-customized notebook

 

DO IT if I knew this would have taken so long I would have gotten the new Dell latitude!

 

why not Dell? everyone i know is satisfied with theirs. tons of people have em with no problems.

you can get the new latitude or the new xps line when released, and you'll pay half the cost of the apple thing.

 

Well I've had my T400 for about a week now and I am pretty happy so far. There is a little flex here and there but nothing that i would consider unacceptable (I'm probably not as picky as some). I love the look and the feel of the notebook but I am still trying to get all the crapware and settings tweaked the way I like it.

The wxga+ led screen is amazing. And I have gotten up to 6 hours of battery on light computing using the 6 cell. Closer to 3 hours with more stuff running. That's my mini-review. Kevin's was much better.

As far as shipping. I have read most of this thread and I feel like I must have won the lottery. I ordered my T400 through the cpp site on the evening of 8/19 and on the morning of the 25th it was at my door in UTAH. I have been nothing but impressed by my first Lenovo experience. I paid via paypal and it charged on 8/23 (the day the computer shipped).

I called lenovo again and my shipping date is now sept 9th, wth?? first the 25th than sept 5th, than sept 20th, now sept 9th. are lenovo reps just giving out BS dates based on how many times you call? after looknig at the dell precision M4400 I really thinking about getting one instead of the **** t500

I am almost there... ordered through CPP on the 20th for T400 with 6 cell battery. Just got an email this confirming that it has left factory, and just now saw the tracking number. UPS hasn't provided any estimated delivery date yet.

ups works on saturday. so hopefully you can get it next monday. mine shipped last saturday but i only got it this wednesday.

 

Mine (x200) shipped out today/yesterday (in China) and should be arriving on tuesday. Monday is a holiday though in the US for anyone expecting a Monday delivery.

Same deal here, although i reordered on the 19th. Delivered on the 30th, and UPS is listing EXPRESS even though i ordered ground. Delivered from the same place, too. Wonder if they're giving free upgrades because of the wait? I ordered the 4-cell.

My estimated arrival date is 9/2, which seems too good to be true. (9/2 makes sense as monday is a holiday.) and luckily i happen to work from home on tuesdays.

Lucky you. I have to work in office on Tuesday. I actually hope the laptop doesn't come until Wednesday, since I work from home that day.

By the way, have you noticed if Lenovo made the credit card charge yet? I have been checking with my credit card company, and they don't have any records of being charged by Lenovo..and the laptop is already on its way here.. I thought charge in China is instantaneous, should be no time delays..

ordered a t400 on 8/22.. it shipped 8/30 looks like, and is scheduled to arrive 9/2. wow..i'm impressed.. the original ship date was 9/8 and even though i chose ground it says it's being shipped express.

 

It seems like people are either impressed with Lenovo or really disappointed with the shipping dates

 

I am the later one.

 

I am disappointed too mainly because my school already started and I am still using my old laptop that is way too slow already.

 

I don't believe it's possible to be shipped ground, there is no land between north america and china.
