i was charged yestoday, but the order status doesn't change! why?

 

I woke up this morning to find that my order had shipped, haven't checked my amex card to see when I was charged, but still a far cry from "the x61s is not shipping until August" originally ordered 6/15, shipping date originally changed to 7/18

I didn't order the dock or anything too widely different, in fact I went for cheapness - debunks my personal belief that maybe a specific set of components may have been holding up manufacturing - looks like there was something common among all orders, or just a huge number of orders.

 

the esd on my x61s, ordered june 20th, just dropped three days to july 20th. the price dropped $47.70.

Mine ordered 06/07. first esd 06/15, second esd 07/16.

I do speak Chinese. Since they ship all notebooks from China, I called Lenovo China. The real person customer service pick up the call immediately after 2 seconds. That's great comparison with US's an hour's waiting. Probably due to the labor cost. So developed country = high labor cost = long holding time = bad customer service ?

They said still no plan for large volume sale for x61 in China until two weeks later. There are no x61 appears on Lenovo China's website but only x60.

So, we'll wait ...

 

yesterday i called lenovo, no idea, same word from lenovo like others. but today i find my x61s (ordered on Jun 5) shipped! hopefully i can get it Monday!

As am I. So far all I've seen are notifications of the X61s shipping, makes me worried for my X61... =/

 

Just called, the representative told me it should ships mid-July...Who knows

I called and they said that the shipdate "was wrong" and that the laptop would ship in one-to-two weeks

Does the type of screen appear to affect the ship date.

Do units that have shipped have XGA or SXGA screens?

 

Still waiting for my x61s ordered on 6/11. Rep had no idea - "by last week or july" - though they did answer in 10 seconds.

 

SXGA is only available on the tablet version. The X61s that have shipped have XGA screens.

 

i called yesterday again (see my previous posts on this thread). they apologized for the delay. they said it will ship third week of july. they will take $50 off the price. call them and get yours.

I'm still hoping for the 3-week-plus-3-business-day rule holds true... If so, I've got less than 1 week to go...

 

How will this affect the FatWallet discount? Just wondering.. because that's more significant than $50.

Also, I ordered with EPP (not Meyer, someone else I know), so, I'm leery about calling them regarding my order...

i don't know about fatwallet, but i ordered using my friend's EPP.

 

First off, how did you get 7%? I only
got 3.5%. How much is the EPP discount on a T61
anyway? I wish I could have tried the legendary "Meyer"
deal as that is actually my last name.

I too, am afraid to call about my order as I don't want
to lose my combo of discounts, (spp and 5% coupon)
but I've been obsessing over whether or not I should
have ordered the T7500 instead of the T7300 as
it would have been only been about $100 more.

So what do you guys think? Is it worth trying to change?
Will they apply the combo discounts to the additional
$100 or will I risk losing the deal all together? I
emailed them a couple days ago asking about what
the price difference would actually be and I still haven't
received a response.

I just don't want to lose my deal or delay my supposed
7/18 delivery date, especially since
my $159 4GB memory should be here soon.

Just wondering if anyone had this same problem with their shipment. I checked the status of my order and it says it's being warehoused until release in Louisville, KY. Can anyone tell me if this will take long?

I just received a phone call from Lenovo, they told me they have to re-book my order, hopefully this time will go through.

 

I'm really fed up with Lenovo. I ordered an X61s on 5/31/07, and have yet to get any accurate info as to when the laptop will ship out. Currently the ESD is set to 7/19/07.

My sales rep is a complete moron who does not respond to calls or email. I've had the issue escalated (I've been told she is an executive), but she is just as clueless as the rep.

 

I'm been reading here prior to my order and thought I would add my info:

Tried to configure a new X61.

Found the shipping date changed from 1-2 weeks to 3-4 weeks if changing the CPU from T7300 to T7500.

All other components seems fine now except the IBM a/b/g/n wifi card is call for availability.

 

My sales rep is similar. No reply for email and phone call.
Mad about it.

I just managed to speak with a manager, and the reason some of the X61/s are delayed is due to the Bluetooth module 62P6054. Supposedly there is a hold up due to this part until next week. Not sure how much I believe them, but we'll have to see.

Has anyone got their ThinkPads yet?

How long does the actual shipping take? Does everyone's laptop get stuck at the customs?

My X61s is supposed to ship on the 13th (assuming that they don't delay it), which is Friday, and I'm leaving the country for a month on the 18th, is it likely that I will get it before then?

I would love to travel with my brand new ThinkPad but if it's likely that I won't get it before than I will have to cancel my order
