I had a different order which was supposed to get shipped on the 16th, I called in and canceled that, but the rep told me that it still might ship to me anyways (I have heard something about that, they must have put in some effort to make their order system suck).

And the one that's supposed to ship on the 13th I'll probably have to cancel as well, assuming the same story happening as above, I'll be getting 2 laptops while I'm away. And I will be charged because I actually have to RMA them to get my money back.

Sigh... what kind of incompetent company does this kind of stuff, hope they get their acts together soon.

Sorry about that, my original ship date was June 28, then changed to July 16, then finally changed to July 20. So congrats to Lenovo, they beat their ESD by a full 9 days

My status page does not show tracking info yet since the status was just changed to "shipped". It says I will have tracking info tomorrow morning.

 

It's so depressing... but I can't stop reading and responding to these threads...

I think you mean weight. The Macbook is actually pretty damn thin compared to other 13'' laptops.

 

Yes, sorry! I meant that my X61s order has shipped, not X60s.

IMO, a 1-month wait for a custom built laptop to be delivered direct from the factory in China isn't that bad. Again, this is IMHO!!! I know not everybody shares this opinion. I would not want to wait much longer than a month though - and those that have waited 2+ months are real champs!

 

What about the poor battery life of the current mac lineup? That has kept me far far away from considering a mac. Perhaps Apple has an awesome OS (depending on who you ask) but I think their hardware design in their notebooks is quite sub-par, aside from great looks.

 

That's one reason why I sold my Macbook.

I just changed my order from the X61s to a t61p. I'm not sure why I'm giving Lenovo the benefit of the doubt with this one. Hopefully they get shipped out faster.

But it's so confusing right now.
I have 2 orders:

1: ordered 6/26, ESD 7/13
I called in and tried to cancel many times (because FatCash didn't come through), but the system is so messed up it's impossible to do. So in the end I gave up and called in to keep this order and canceled the other one since the 2nd one ships later, and I asked for a discount they give me $100 off.

2: ordered 6/27, ESD 7/16, shipped today!
I called in after I kept the other order and canceled this one, but it shipped early! So I called in today and canceled the 1st order that I got $100 dollars off, and they said they might be able to get that discount on this order, so let's see what happens.

Looks like I might be able to get it before I leave the country! But that 1st order might still come through and get shipped. Their system is so messed up!

You might wan to call Lenovo and ask them if your order needs to be rebooked.
The rep. told me that the early orders (cut off date is around 6/7) have some issues with their system.
As you can see someone ordered theirs around mid-june, and get shipped earlier.
And the most important thing is, you must find the right rep. to talk to.
I called more than 10 times, and each time the rep. told me there's nothing wrong with my order, should gets shipped soon, until the day before, a rep. from Canada reached me on my cellphone, and told me my order needed to rebook. So...good luck!
