hmm...Lenovo is famous for its slow shipping.
Last time when I ordered my X61s, it took them 1 months plus 5 days to ship it.

I spoke on the phone with a sales rep about this. He didn't know why the page wasn't there, or when it was going to be there. When I called he simply created a quote based on the spec's I desired, and he can add whatever warranty option you desire (the part numbers are the same as those listed for the X201s) and he will email you the quote. Then just convert it into an order. I'm not sure what warranty you're looking for, but the 3yr onsite+3 yr adp is 41C9338. Call them, they're helpful (I got an American call center, I guess because I called during business hours?)

I think that was more of a demand than a statement? Like he wants an unboxing video, not that he's seen one.

I created a shareholder account on their website las week. Can I get my shareholder discount if I call them to place the order of X201?

Yea you can, just mention it before he starts the quote so they can use the correct order page. I used shareholder pricing as well. They'll ask you to confirm your shareholder account user name and information. The warranty price for 3yr onsite+3 yr adp is XXX.XX. That comes out to 26 cents a day for the warranty. Not a bad deal for the peace of mind (especially the ADP).

    I got an x201 with:
    540m
    7pro 64 bit
    12.1" w/ camera
    2gb ram
    trackpoint+touchpad
    160gb 5400rpm hdd
    9 cell
    bluetooth
    intel 6200
    trackpoint cap collection
    12w sleeve
    3yr on-site + 3 year ADP

    @ XXXX.XX taxed and shipped.

Throw in 8gb ram and an SSD and its a beautiful machine sitting right around XXXX.

Sunday night on the EPP site. Its already in Anchorage. Fully loaded X201S except 2GB of RAM, 160GB HD, 7 Home Premium 64 (plan to add 2GB memory, 160GB SSD, and 7 Ultimate when it is in my hands).

Don't the laptops that come with a SSD from Lenovo have some sort of special tuning in order to boot in 20 seconds? If you do a clean install after, don't you lose that tune/mod?

Which X201 and X201s models come with the enhanced experience?

    • Faster startup, shutdown and application loading with the latest Intel® Core™ i CPUs with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology and Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (on X201 and X201s)
    • Startup as fast as 20 seconds and shutdown as fast as 5 seconds with Windows® 7 Lenovo Enhanced Experience

i've just ordered mine a couple of days ago using "myus.com" and have them send to Indonesia. I have to pay upfront for the X201. They are still waiting money to be in their account first. I will let you know my experience with them. There is always the first time. I hope this one is good.

That's marketing speak. My X200s booted up in 20 secs with an SSD. They're smoking something and they's like you to buy it too.

I don't believe much in the "enhanced" experience. Maybe they load less crapware on the computer?

It's the IBM SPP (shareholders purchase program). I'm not sure what percentage the discount is, but it's usually a decent sized discount.

    everyone,

EPP, CPP, and SPP pricing info is not allowed to be posted publicly.   please do not post it, ask about it, or otherwise discuss program pricing or discount percentages.

please refer to ZaZ's sticky at the top of this board.

    thank you. ;)

Good to hear that people are getting their x201 machines shipped; I'm almost tempted to cancel my x200 that's been in limbo for 1.5 months (supposedly due to an inverter shortage) and upgrade to an x201 just to get something that's more 'future proof'. Too bad I need it by early next month.

SockMan! - have you considered purchasing an X201 TopSeller model?   there are a few resellers with them in stock.   they may not be configured exactly how you might want but they're at least available immediately.

erik - thanks, I haven't looked into those yet but it looks like it might be the way to go. Heck, it's not like my current order is guaranteed to get to me by the time I need it.

Anyway, has anyone managed to confirm for sure that the x200 and x201 batteries are compatible?

Edit: after checking the TopSeller models, I noticed that the wireless cards are not listed as Intel models; I'm guessing these are the standard "Thinkpad" wireless adapter option. How do these typically compare to the Intel ones?

buy a share or two of IBM or lenovo because of the investment, not because you get a discount on products.

if you have any questions about SPP pricing, call the sales line. ;)

Purchase it as you would purchase any other stock. Sign up for something like e-trade or get a broker and buy a share of IBM. Going for 127.33 right now. Of course that doesn't include any subscribers or brokerage fees.

I'm about to order x201s. just have one question about the ram. What's the highest speed DDR3 it can use? I see that it comes with PC3-8500 one. I want to order the 2GB one and upgrade the ram myself. If i replace it with PC3-10666 or PC3-12800, will it run at that higher speed?

It is probably because one of the part that we have ordered is out of stock which made the est. ship date to be blank. mine is the same.
here is my configuration. please post yours so maybe we can figure out which part is out of stock.

i need a new x201s model with both WWAN and web cam.

If lenovo can provide optional screen update, i would pay 250 extra for the ips version.

come on lenovo, listen to custom's voice. the x201s would be unbeatable then.

<s>you should.   call the warranty department and check with them to make sure.   last i heard it was determined solely by the machine type (5129) and not the model number (CTO).</s>

update: yes, your warranty will carry over.
