I'm guessing you have the 9300 version rather than the 9600 version, which would make a pretty huge difference.

Anywho, is LG coming out with a new version of the P310 (as in one with different components) sometime soon?

he said the camini so thought that was the polish one with the 9600 and he can run crysis but not witcher, hmm. I have read that the witcher does run slow in some cases. Also there has been afew mentions of this card downclocking in earlyer posts. Is it is profomance mode, are you plugged in etc?

Camini and Tarsia drivers should be the same. The differences like RAM, CPU and HDD don't need drivers...

@Turel: You can either try this: http://www.lge.com/support/software.jsp

Or you just find out what components are in your P310 and go directly to the sites of the manufacturers.

Intel for Chipset Drivers, Synaptic for Touchpad drivers, Nvidia for the latest beta video driver,... (just guessing about Synaptic, though).

EDIT: The "Series" field seems to be a bit mangled, but it works.

Hi guys, I just talked to the LG Germany Service and the P310 Tarsia is definetely not produced anymore. They still have some Caminis left but there are no more Tarsias.

That is quite sad for me, I received my Tarsia on Friday with malfunctioned keyboard and touchpad. I thought about returning it and ordering a new one but suddenly it is not listed in amazon.de anymore and the other shops increase their prices.

The LG-notebook-guy is in a meeting today but I was told tomorrow he might give me information if there is a similar model coming up.

Ok found the site and a drivers page thanks to you all even though the crappy page custs of the bottom and wont let me see the full list of drivers.

But came across some interesting info. Looks like the next P310 is 2.80 dual core http://www.lge.com/products/model/detail/P310.jhtml

No more Tarsia at Amazon.de? Good, temptation to burn more money gone! :D

But if they build a "similar model" with an ATI 4650 or 4670 I think I will have to get one of those...

    Here's a Q?
We Know Canada sells a scaled down version of the P310, How hard would it be to order the German 310 and then look for a replacement KB from Canada?

its not that hard to order things from germany. As you are out of the EU you dont pay VAT but would have to pay import tax i beleive. I cant realy aswer you about finding a replacement keyboard as Im lazy and am just paying for the replacement , but i can imagen either germany or canada would stock them somewhere maybe worth cantacting LG Canida or Germany perhaps?.

Well... yesterday I had format the laptop and install Vista Basic X86.

Not as smooth as XP... that´s normally... but... again have instaled The Witcher and I also have the same problem, its doesnt run god enough, maybe still worse than XP...

Using Everest, the program shows that I have the 9600M GT 515mb DDR3

I cant understand it... I need a solution...

Hi guys, I am afraid I have bad news for you.
I talked to the LG Germany notebook guy today and he told me that there is in fact a new Tarsia on the way. But it will have the same components as the current Tarsia, it will just have a smaller CPU (same GHZ, less Cache).
They had a problem with the price management, the prices dropped too fast on the internet. The same model would now cost about 1.500 Euros so if they want the prices to stay at about 1.350 they have to use cheaper components.

On the other hand he told me that the Camini in Germany now always has the same GPU as the Tarsia.

The P9500 (and all others of the P9xxx series) has 6MB cache, the P8400 has 3MB cache (P8xxx series).

@vollviel: That's really bad news. How can "prices be dropping to fast"? Doesn't LG sell them at a fixed price, and the resellers charge whatever they want?

Still, there's hope that some other company might build a 13" notebook with a 4650/4670. I'm looking at you, Asus!

I am not 100% sure, but I think they intended the notebook to be constantly sold for about 1.500 Euro. The prices for the first charge dropped lower than 1.400 Euro and they aren't able to produce a second charge for the same price. So they could either increase the price dramatically for the same model or they could use cheaper components. I guess they chose the second way.

Well, that is what the LG guy told me today. Another certainly less informed guy told me last week that they are still producing the Tarsia. I really hope the new information is correct, but there is no guarantee for it.

Starting to think it is in the bios... By the way how does bios upgrade work with LG? havent seen any bios on LGs site. /Thanks.

You should try buying in Poland. If you live close I think it would be easiest to come visit and buy in a regular shop. Maybe you have some family/friends in Poland who may buy it for you and send to Ukraine?

Tough one then, as buying via internet they will probably charge some tax and customs :( I think that private import is the only way for you :( Maybe a friend of a friend?

As regards PowerMizer on Vista I found a solution for you guys on a blog - visit.
It turns out that the solution was also present at this very forum - visit.

Enjoy the full power of your new laptop :D

well, what can i say... I have a brandnew P310 Tarsia, and it started to behave strangely on hibernation.

every 3rd-4th time when I hibernate it on purpose OR when the compueter hibernates after 20 min standby, it will not completly shut down. hibernation progress bar finishes correctly, screen gets dark, BUT the LED buttons all switch on and the blue power button stays on too. the computer will even after hours (whole night) not completly shut off, fan running.

from this point, i can not wake it up. i have to press the power button five seconds, then everything is off. now the strange part begins: the computer will not turn on anymore until i remove the battery.

what could that be? windows driver problems? battery defect? mainboard problem?

on the other hand, once tuned on, the computer works like expected, not a single problem with nothing.

My Tarsia arrived 2 days ago. I am typing from it now :)
My first impression are very good, I am ipressed by the small thing. From the gaming perspective I only tried Fallout 3 and Red Alert 3 and both run very good at maximum quality. Only for Fallout 3 I had to put AA to 2x to make it run smooth.
The battery is quite impressive also, I don't have exact numbers but from a subjective P.o.V. is impressive. I also wanted to attach pictures from unpacking and some for it running but the forum doesn't let me so I put them on flickr.

TrueSilvo, did you try installing the latest drivers for the 9600m GT from the nVidia site? For me the performance was much better after installing those.
Also maybe it's a heat related issue because the P310 does run pretty hot and maybe the gpu protection kicks in when the temp is too high. Try to play with the notebook on a table (as in not on the bed) because the cooling would be more efficent that way.
Also, like Yuna said, powermizer could be at fault. You can find info on how to disable it a few posts back.

Because I have the same problem.

    I run GPU-Z and show me: PCI-E 2.0 16x @ x1 also on CPU-Z...

I dont know the reason, if it is about using XP or something else... but I have to resolve it as soon as I can.

aboreal, chill :) that techarp report is part full of BS, part refers to something else.
First, so I don't forget to tell you, ensure that that you have the power plan to "high performance".
That article was refering to desktop cards, in notebooks it's little different, the GPU, apart from underclocking when idle to save power it also changes the link in the PEG bus (PCI Express Graphics).
So, when it is idle it stays at x1. When it is used it switches to 16x. With PCI Express 2.0 that we use it is 1 x 500MBps = 500MBps max (which is enough for non gaming use) and 16 x 500MBps = 8000MBps max (which is more than enough for gaming). Also when it is idle it underclocks (core and memory).
Make this test to convince yourself:
Start GPU-Z when the computer is idle and look at the link state and the clocks. After that (ensure that you are in high performance power plan) open a game, play for 10 seconds, alt + TAB to go to windows and open GPU-Z again. You should see the link for PEG at x16 and the clock an memory speed to the max. Also take a look at the attached images.

for more info about how PCI-Express works take a look at:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

That its totally right. I have made the test with a game, and on GPU-Z shows x16@x16.

But I have a question Avoid ; why on 3DMARK06 I have only 3700 points? Other users with same configuration and hardware (same laptop) scored 6000 points.

And a game like The Witcher I cant play it smoothly with 800x600 and config in LOW. I think that´s not normal... isnt it?

Hope you can answer with a racional explain. Thanks.
