    hi,
TrueSilvo I'd like to know how did you put 4GB DDR3 in your camini.
Did you chose Pc3-8500 or Pc3-10666?
And how much did you pay for it ?
    Thanks

In Poland we don't have Camini and Tarsia models. LG Poland has it's own models, which differ from the German's.

At the moment, there is only one model of P310 available with P8400 processor, 4GB RAM and 320GB HDD.

I did no such thing :D

My P310 is not the Camini. I bought it in Poland. It's labeled LG P310-S.CPRAY.

The spec in my footer is what we get up front. Apart from the HDD which I changed myself. The standard one is 320GB 5400RPM.

In Poland we have "US international" keyboard layout - the same like in US.
Yes, the screen is LED type.

The notebook appeared also in MediaMarkt Markets :) It costs there about 1000 Euro. :) (4800 PLN)

I tried calling them but the customer service only works till 4 PM :( I was 3 minutes late...

You should send them an email in English asking whether they'll ship abroad. So far we didn't manage to find an internet shop in Poland which will be able to answer to English mails and ship the product abroad :(
    BTW their email: [email protected]

I just have an answer saying that they didn't ship abroad.
Do you know if another shop will ship abroad?
    I really want this notebook.

I just send e-mail to every online shop I found.
But I see that for the same notebook some shop say it's a 3GB DDR3 and other 4GB DDR3. Are there differents model ?

No, that's just an error which appeared initially on the importer's website. The shops just copied the description and didn't bother correcting it. I assure you that this model has 4GB of RAM :D

Hope that you will manage to find a shop which will service you. If not I'm going to France soon, we may work sth out if you're so desperate :)

I made another attempt to find a suitable shop in Poland. I made a run through the websites looking for info on shipping abroad. Here's the list oh shops (and their emails), who claim to ship abroad:

They all claim on their websites that they ship abroad. You will have to confirm that and also ask for the final price...

I asked http://www.notebook.de/ if it was possible to deliver this great notebook with an azerty keyboard lay-out. They replied they can only offer an english international keyboard... Too bad :-( I thought someone in this thread mentioned that the azerty lay-out was possible too?

It's just too bad that the best 13 inch laptop only avaible is in 3 or 4 countries in the world. I have a German Mediamarkt at 40 minutes driving from my home which sells the P310, but the keyboard layout is a to big disadvantage for me...
Hopefully in the future will a more global manufacturer like asus, toshiba, ... see the light and make a similar notebook, but I doubt it...
The next best thing (Dell studio XPS 13) is just not worth the money :-(

After that it will be game install time.

That's not a problem. They will be able to get it for you. It's available through a wholesaler to which almost every shop has access.

And that's just pure BS that UPS doesn't ship abroad.

    I ordered from notebook.de.

I have talked a Rick a few times via email as he is the only one who responds. Now he is telling me that there is a 5 euro bank fee that I need to pay but this was not mentioned the last 2 times I called them! While 5 euro is not a lot of money I don't know what is going on.

It also seems now that they know the keyboard is an international English keyboard and not a UK keyboard. Which is good, because the international keyboard is what I wanted. But I would have to initiate another bank transfer for this!

Ouch, I didnt have any of that. It is the international key board. I only noticed today. But that 5 euro thing? I had a bank transfer fee at my bank but that was it.

On another note I am now questing for vista 64 bit from LG, lets see what happens.

Apparently they do not keep the cheaper model in stock. So those who want to get quick shipping, stick with Tarisa. But to me it was not worth the difference in price.

I have no doubts that I will get the laptop at some point, but I think the language barrier has been more frustrating/inefficient than it needed to be.

And I am still thinking about the keyboard now that they can confirm it is an international keyboard. When I ordered, they were still insisting it was an UK keyboard while evidence was showing otherwise. I should have went ahead with the international keyboard order then!

Ok so far LG uk wont supply a vista buisness disk they have told me to try LG germany. Just sent them an email. I think im going to stuggle to get this for free but it seems such a wast to pay for a simple upgrade of what is basicly the same thing i already have. If anyone has a spare vista buis disc let me know :)

Has anyone tried the P310 with Windows 7 yet? I'd like to know if the Vista gadget they had that allowed you to turn on and off wifi, change resolution, toggle projector mode etc. can be installed on windows 7, and if there are any problems (like drivers failing) when coming out of sleep.

    Thanks!

In my case it worked great with Win7 32bit. No problems whatsoever. Then I tried the x64 version. And it fails to function properly. I used the drivers for vista x64 and whenever I try to connect to WiFi I get a BSOD :(

However, the LG Smart Indicator Gadget works great in both cases...

just for clarification about the availability of AZERTY keyboards : initialy it was available in the spare part list with undefined delivery date. Afterwards it got removed from that list, according to Rick from notebook.de

After some days playing with this laptop, the only downsides I found are :

    - not so good screen contrast
    - camera driver : default settings not so good, gamma control (save/restore) setting is broken
-region : only few keyboard layouts available + vista license key (not even speaking about the provided vista installation) is locked to a short list languages(english, german, poland , ...)
    - card reader : no native support for 'mini' card formats + not user friendly when using memory stick pro duo adapter (risky for nails).

I can say i havent had a problem with the contrast whatsoever, but it was very bright when i first got it. Just poped it down a few notch's and it looks perfect. This is amasing seriously I just wish I had more time do mess around with it. but thats what family life does to you :)

I havent bought in the US but it may be worth working out what you want from notebook.de as they seem to be best for import and keyboard change. Then price of machine add 89 Euros for new keyboard and ask them for a quote on shipping and add that then use currency converter to work it out. Thats how I did it for UK pounds and the shipping was only 30 euros for me.and trust me it was worth it.

Oh and just to add the 3-4 week delay for keyboard never happened and it was shipped next day. Took 3 working days to get to me.

I am trying to have 3 units delivered to the US. I've ran into some hiccups with them and it is annoying that they do not followup. However since there doesn't seem to be any issues reported with the store, I am pretty sure I will get them at some point.

A quick heads up on the powermizer issue discussed earlier.

After I changed my drivers to the ones from lv2g (185.20) The powermizer started to bother me again, ruining the video performance on battery. This time even changing the option in nvidia control panel didn't help. Neither did installing the official drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/drivers.

I had resolved this problem by modifying the registry. More info here.
Now everything is back to normal. I just played NFS Undercover while running on the battery :D

Anyone knows something about CUDA aceleration for 9600M GT?

Its for HD videos using CoreAVC 1.9. It seems to work for Nvidia VGA with 182.x drivers. But our 9600M GT its still with 179.28 version.

    Have a look here: http://www.opineo.pl/opinie/prono-com-pl

It's a site which collects buyers opinions on particular shops. The average is well above 9, so I think they can be trusted. Also, the details of the company from your previous post look solid. There is no obligation to put the www address in the company name, so I wouldn't worry about that.

All in all, you are buying in the EU, so I believe you are secure :) We're all bound by the same law.

    Hi,
Can Intel Turbo Memory 2GB be installed in P310?
Intel Turbo memory is able not to be installed though it seems to be able to exchange main memories by removing the keyboard.
Please teach when someone knows how to install Intel Turbo memory.

That's 1.29kg without the battery, Alien :) 1.6kg w the battery, 2kg with the power brick and wires, according to notegear.com .

However, 1.6kg with 9600m gt is still unheard of elsewhere.
