And I assure you guys, that it's noticeable in my backpack(My previous 15,4" Asus was around 3kg)

Hello steal waiting for my notebook
I 'll buy the case someone told us few post before the zeroshock 3.
Now I'm looking for a mouse and I'd like to know if the Wifi and bluetooth connection can be active independently?
And if just the bluetooth consume lot of battery?
Because I don't know if I buy a mouse with a dongle like the logitech VX nano, or a bluetooth mouse directly connected to the notebook. -
I've just bought this beauty and it's amazing
Does anybody know how to change HDD? I would like to change the drive to 500GB 7200 Seagate drive. -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-ZJA-00006-Arc-Mouse-Black/dp/B001D7OHOO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1236021955&sr=8-1
Plus it goes with the laptop
Oh and dont bother with the logitec nano they dont switch off unless you put the dongle inside which makes having the micro dongle pointless. Design floor i think. -

Weight:
According to http://ca.lge.com/en/products/model/detail/p300series_p310k.cpw1a9.jhtml# weight is 1.6kg with a standard battery.
Screen contrast:
Yes, you can enable/disable wireless & bluetooth separetly. I guess bluetooth uses a LOT less power than wireless connection and is probably unnoticeable on your battery power consumption. -
Of course you can switch off the nano without pulling the receiver out of the port. Just have to hold the power button for some 3 seconds.
The nano will consume considerably less power than bluetooth solutions, so if batterylife is important you should use this mouse.
In my case the receiver is always in on the right and I have 2 spare USB ports left on the other side of the machine. Even when putting the laptop into a sleeve, you don't have to take the receiver out
One hint - the little "cord" over the HDD isn't only for protection, as I thought initially. You have to put it back, as it is responsible for volume control. I mounted the laptop without it, and the little volume joystick was not workingI had to go through all the fuss again.
I plan on exchanging the disk again in my computer this week, so I will probably prepare a tutorial with pictures that I will take during this operation.
If you're not in a hurry you could wait for this tutorial, if so, write me a private message and I shall explain in Polish(think it will be easier that way).
-
And no problems with my screen at all all the yellows and oranges are realy nice and all the blacks look realy black my desktop is black and my firefox browser and igoogle is all balck and shades of grey and the blacks also come out nice in video playback. My be worth getting your screen checked? -
So you finally got your baby, Lord Turel ? Could you please let us know exactly how much did you pay for it ? One of my "computer illiterate" friend will visit Korea next month and I'm struggling to find a way to show him how to purchase my desired configuration. Can anyone suggest an English website of any Korean store that I can show him ? I suppose the price is cheaper in Korean, isn't it ?
Thanks.

Hi guys, would the P310 fit my needs? http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=358771
How is the battery and keyboard on this LG? -
Guys whats the difference in performance of 9600 GT 512MB and 9300M GS 256MB?
I have this offer;
LG P310
2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 3 MB cache
4 GB DDR II SDRAM - 800 MHz
13.3 tum WXGA LED Backlight 1280 x 800 bp
Nvidia GeForce Go 9300M GS 256 MB
320 GB HDD 5400 RPM
For 1 500 USD including VAT. Should I go for it? Please, I really need feedback. I cant find anyone selling the P310 in sweden with the better graphics card. Would the 9300M GS use less power? Less heat? -

nothings blowing your cash unless the motherboard is crap, really. and the graphics. because you cant upgrade the graphics. just get a 9 cell battery.
-
Where are these 9 cell batteries? :S
-
Getting the 9300 version for 1500USD is a HUGE rip-off. As you can see, you can get the higher spec version for less in Poland.
If you need battery life, then you should look somewhere else. The P310 was not designed with this feature at the top of the wish list. You could consider Dell XPS M1330 with 9 cell battery. It goes up to 6 hrs without electricity -
This is the best 13.3 for gaming fact i think it even beats the zepto a4 (14 inch) just on the grounds of weight and quality. -
Edit: Wow I actually looked back and noticed how extremely wrong you are, the higher spec version is more expensive in poland than this that I am buying in Sweden. You fail. -
Nothing matters anymore :] I ordered the P310 for 1 110.00 Euro including 25% VAT.
-
My P310 has been ship today, I let you know when I'll receive it.
Negative where did you buy your ? -
I ordered it from www.inet.se. According to pricerunner they were cheapest in sweden.
-
Ok, negative. I don't fail, because you may buy it in Poland for ~4800PLN, so about 5000PLN with shipping. This means 1320 USD. Please, double check before you accuse...
But that's irrelevant now. Congrats on ordering the best 13" laptop there isPlease let us now how do you find the version with GF9300. What are the temps and batterylife?
-
You guys are in for a treat. This note book is beyond nice. Been playing crysis today and if found out i quite like using the external dvd as a mouse mat
-
Just placed an order with notebook-shop.de
.
Side note: Has anyone tried running linux on this? If so, which distro, and what does/nt work? -

Hi guys, where can I buy this laptop in Europe or in the USA?
-
Anyhow, I would have to add a swedish keyboard to the price if I import and thats like 60 dollars...? No matter anymore, just as you say.

It felt kinda slow though, maybe because of the 64bits. There were, however, no problems with drivers or anything else. Even the OSD was properly installed.

For a total of 907.5 euros nett (without VAT). -
TrueSilvo said: ↑That will be quite complicated. It was briefly described a few pages back in this thread. First you have to unscrew two screws on the bottom that hold the keyboard (you will see the kb icon next to them). Then you take off the keyboard (there are four "latches" at the top of the keyboard you have to unblock first). When its done you unscrew everything under the keyboard that holds the panel and take of the panel itself revealing the disc in the bottom right part of the laptop.

I just talked with the people supplying LG parts and they told me they do not have a 9 volt battery for P310, I guess that can be interpreted as they do not exist. They seem to be friendly and helpful though, good support so far.
-
Does your P310 actually look like on the foto? Do you have those horizontal stripes on the lid?
-
Yeah it has those stripes. I'm not yet sure if I like them or not. Quite unique though.

Hi guys, i'm dead set on getting this laptop, but i've read the previous posts n it seems u can only get it through polish or german stores
. I'm in the u.s now n i want to get the tarsia model from notebook.de (with uk keyboard, not too much of a diff between uk n international keyboards) but it costs too much with UPS international shipping (1,765.81 USD), i was wondering if i send it to my friend who lives in the uk would it cost less for him to get it. I've tried putting in uk address but with VAT it cost more than what it'd cost me to send here to the us (1,918.63 USD). any way around the vat? i've read some ppl saying they got it without VAT, how can you do that? Bear in mind that my friend is only temporarily living in the uk and thus he can claim vat taxes from airports.
Thanx -
I think you need to buy it for a company you own to deduct VAT
Also, you will probably need to pay some customs fees for the lappy, if it is delivered to US.
Quick heads up:
LG is backing out of Poland. They do not provide any new laptops since the beginning of March. So if you want to buy in Poland, you should hurry, while there are still some supplies in the wholesalers' warehouses.

I see, well that sux
. But for all the ppl that own this laptop, do u say it deserves $1750+? I'm loving the specs on it, but what are its drawbacks/ deficiencies? Any help would be appreciated, coz im close to pulling the trigger!

I am slightly concerned about the potential custom fees as I don't know how much it will be, but I will update when I get them! -

Be aware though, that being a small laptop it can get quite warm under stress (especially on the bottom). It's not to hot, just warmer then the previously owned 15" ASUS. I also would like to see a eSATA port, but that's hardly a drawback, as I got an expresscard with that for less than 20 euro. It also catches a lot of fingerprints on the lid, but when I put it in the sleeve it magically cleans itself
I say: Go for it, man! You won't regret it. The size and weight of this baby will amaze you. I still cant believe that it is so light when I pick it up. -

Hi i'm considering getting one of the P310 with p8400 cpu. Quick question, will p8400 be enough for stuff like video/music editing and other ? Also does it get 3+/hrs on wifi. Having 25w CPU increases battery life right?

2.Also does LG P310-S.CPRAY comes with 320GB 7200rpm or 5400 rpm ?
3.Do you know what is the maximum CPU u can upgrage in the future ? Will it handle 2.8Mgz CPU ?
4.How do you like the silver and overall design ? It doesnt make it look like toshiba right ? Is there a way to swap silver keyboard to a black one ? that would be neat -
Hello All,
I read through this thread and I am still unsure of the build material of this laptop. Can anyone confirm if the bottom case is made of metal (mag or alu)? I understand that the LCD cover is plastic.
Thanks!

So, is there no upside to getting the gf9300 version? Like longer battery life, lower temperature? I'm not going to be gaming on this machine anyway...

Your Wallet will be lighter meaning you will reducee your overall weight when carrying the notebook.
From what I have read about other notebooks with simular versions the 9300 doesnt have any difference on the website specs but ofcourse these are other laptops i have been looking at. Also that said If you are getting this lappy then I would say why not get the best you can for your money.
I can imagen the temps would reduce for gaming maybe at a guess because there is not so much graphics being used but this is a pure guess it could be worse as the 9300gs could be understrain? as i say this is pure speculation on my part. Anyway that woulddnt realy effect you as Thats realy a Gaming issue. If your realy not looking at graphics there are other lappys on the market with the 9300gs for considdereation. Even though this is the best
