This laptop appears to be as rare as silicon gold.
I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered from notebook.de with a UK keyboard. However, correspondance was been somewhat lacking when I try to wring delivery dates from notebook.de.

OMG ! JUST GET IT ALREADY!

The reason why they can't deliver it is because THIS LG P310 HAS HARDWARE ISSUES.

And i guess it is heat-problem/fan-cooling problem.

No wonder, lol a 9600GT in such a small frame.

Only LG would get this idea? Other producers are stupid?
    I doubt!
They have reasons. And these reasons are most probably related to LG not being able to deliver it :)

The P310 should come with both OS, Vista preinstalled and XP as Recovery available.

Well I had some problems connecting to the internet... but after using the rescue disks and re-installing drivers and such and configuring my wifi network, i finally managed to get it done! :)

The pc is barely hearable, and has a button to slow down the fan. Believe me, if I would make a video then you wouldn't hear it!

It has been working all day and the battery seems to last 3-4h in power saving mode.

Also it gets a vista experience level 5.3, with a score of 5.9 of allmost every aspect except the HDD speed (lol) in which it gets 5.3 :s....

What programs should I run to test it and make a decent review?

Also, the heat is almost none ;)

I think the most interesting data is:
    -3DMark06
-battery runtime using Powersaving, doing nothing, min display brightness
-battery runtime using Batteryeater, using average display brightness
-subjectiv opinion about display readability outdoors using max display brightness

3DMark '06 with external display so you get the result with 1280x1024 resolution, pref. with stock drivers and with www.laptopvideo2go.com drivers separately. If you could get heat and noise readings while running 3DMark that would be nice. Looking forward to hear more as well! :)

well 3dmark scores are gonna be the same with other 9600m gt notebooks (~ close to 6000), that's not really news. how hot and loud it gets running that would be more interesting.

Also, it would be wonderful if you could take some pictures!

There are rumours around, that the 9600m GT in th P310 is bit downclocked because of the heat, also some other components have (some) impact on the result, so this is not for sure.

    I agree.
The power is clear. 9600M GT and a T9600 has a lot of 15" notebooks.

Hope i can order it this week too

You can readout the clock from the videocard with for example Everest.

I emailed LG Portugal about a month ago asking for info on the p310 and they said they had no idea what I was talking about...

aesgan, where did you buy the laptop? Was it at a store or did you order it online?

It seems the Portuguese model is the same as the German 'Tarsia' except it has a T9400 instead of the P9500, which should mean shorter battery life and slightly more heat, but equal performance, right? It might also mean that the P9500 is the reason why the p310 has been delayed so much - maybe there's a lack of those processors, like what happened with the Atom?

i'm configuring some stuff in my home wifi so i couldnt do a review regarding temperatures.

In my portuguese review I wrote that heat is not an issue, in my opinion. It is quiet and cool when surfing the web and even playing warcraft 3.

When I start Team Fortress 2, that's another thing lolol, the fan starts rotating faster, and heat starts pouring from the fan (im glad it responds like this and doesnt melt :)).
Still I dont think its very hot, but to proove it ill play team fortress 2 while having GPUZ monitoring my temps, I'll then post with the average temp I get.

    Cheers

PS: if anyone can read portuguese you can start reading my PT review here: www . techzonept.com/showthread.php?t=366614

Ok so after playing a while I realized that I get breaks when trying to play TF2 in any of the settings, I'm guessing this may be cause of drivers or just vista sucking like allways....

Anyway the temperature goes up to around 55ºC when playing as Heavy in a 32 populated game, with some minor breaks, but when I return to Windows the temperature drops almost suddenly to 45ºC again :).

I've tried connecting via HDMI and it worked perfectly, I havent played via HDMI but i will try it tomorrow.

    Cheers

thanks aesgan and sorry for the doubt^^
but with the pics you have proven it.

how is the manufacture? it's a pity that they used plastic....also it is not the cheapest notebook.
    Is the frame rock-solid?

    And how is the screen-brightness?

Can you use it under sunlight, outdoor?

    thanks

agree with EAPOCS, too bad they decided to use plastic. It does nothing but make such a good notebook look cheap.
one more question; does it attract fingerprints?

the S510 has no glossy at all :/

would have loved it if they had integrated some special features like LED-keyboard.

sorry guys i didnt have time today to make any more benchmarks.

The cover is in plastic (black), and it does attract fingerprints... Actually I wanted the striped one just to mark my "territory" and make sure to everyone that I had a "special" notebook :p.

Without the stripes it looks normal, though when I give it to someone to lift up they all get amazed!

I've played TF2 with High settings and it does get sloppy mostly in heavy populated servers. I've tested with GPU-Z the temps and it never got higher than 58ºC (it was like a peak).

I'll check HWmonitor tomorrow (its late here).

Regarding the monitor, i think its quite bright, then again my laptop uses a 8800GTS 512 with Quad core Q6600 and a Samsung 940BW with not so high brightness. I think my laptop is a lot brighter than my desktop monitor.
When its off its like a mirror but when its on it reflects some lights but nothing too much.

Also it takes around 1minute to boot to the vista sign in screen, dunno if you wanted this info or not :p.

And last but not least, In the bottom side there is nothing but the battery slot, so I dont know about removing the HDD. What I do know is that on the bottom there is a screw with a keyboard image and an arrow, which makes me think that to change something inside I will have to remove the keyboard (therefore the access is via the top).

I dont have many games I could test but I will install UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3 tomorrow and check out how high I can put my graphics :).

    Cheers

Does it come with 64-bit Vista? If not, the 4th gig won't be used anyway. If it ships with 3gb, I'm guessing it's 32-bit.
