pixelot's monolithic thread was fading, so thought I'd post a wallpaper from linux-look.be. Not a lot there right now, but they are off to a good start. Working on doing a complete deinstall/reinstall of compiz and emerald to work better with Kubuntu per here

EDIT: removed Compiz as the cube and wobbly windows just wasn't worth the performance hit....keep the cpu at around 10% all the time, just compiz...

Oh, now i see. When i post my Linux desktop it'll have that too, i have vista on this computer but only because i don't feel like deleting it. I use Linux a lot, and don't need windows. I find Linux to be better than windows so i rarely boot into it.

I like it, Zoid, except for . . . LOL

Windows is now gone from all my machine except one, which I very rarely use. Kept it because I was having problems (of all things) copying Linux ISOs using . . . Linux. (I'm such a damn n00b!) With Ubuntu 8.04 and Mandriva Spring, though, for whatever reason, all seems well with copying data CDs/DVDs. Because I'm not a gamer, I really have no use for Windows any longer; its days on my machines will be ending very soon.

Ditto - waste of disk space for me these days, though I enjoyed it before all you gents got me hooked on Linux. And thank you for that!! LOL

If it wasn't for the games, Vista (sorry 'rob) :D would be gone for sure. I can run my business apps no problem in VB....just data field entry mainly, speed doesn't matter....I've solved my Blackberry Sync issue....it's just games! Strategy strategy....don't have the reflexes any more for FPS's LOL

EDIT: I'm 2 posts ahead of you at this moment, and half the rep....you've really been mixing it up around here! :D

I've already tried AWN and it was easy to set up contrary to what some people say, i just didn't like it for some reason, it felt out of place. I like the icons there more.

My notebook is just a default theme, here's my desktop PC running ubuntu 8.04:

^ note the insane amount of cpu usage in second pick. Not sure how accurate those screenlets are, but the visualizer is what's making it do that.

With the visualizer turned off it's like 2%...this on a 3ghz core 2 duo, lol.

Nice, what theme is that exactly? I haven't messed around with 8.04 too much, but I just installed the newest Linux Mint on my old desktop and that looks like something I may want to try out.
