It's JJ 9.04. But I forgot to show off my transparent; black background-white font terminal. Damn...
This is my Asus EeePC (sig). Woohoo! This little sucker is fun.

Hehe.. True. I didn't know what it was until my girlfriend explained what that picture was about. I'm not too interested in it anymore as well

Well it's the best wallpaper I have at the moment, what better wallpaper could I have really?

KDE 4.2.4 on Ubuntu Jaunty.
10 Second boot
I hardly see the KDE splash screen, though it's enabled.
Anyone who wants to know the tweak, just ask. -
You mean Ubuntu and not Kubuntu?
-
That basically means I didn't install the Kubuntu-Desktop package, but installed kde-core from the KDE Members KDE4 PPA. -
nothing special, but this is my F11 x64 desktop (resized from 1600x1200)

This probably won't get you the same results as me, but it should speed up boot.
Alright, so you need to do ctrl + alt + f1(save data and exit programs first!).
Login with your username and password.
Type:
Code:sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop && sudo readahead-watch -o gdm.list
When it stops, type:
Code:/etc/init.d/gdm start
Wait for the login prompt, and login.
When gnome is fully loaded, do ctrl + alt + f1 again.
Type:
Code:sudo killall readahead*
Start a terminal, type:
Code:sudo su
Type:
Code:cat gdm.list >> /etc/readahead/desktop
