This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Just because the max/min/close buttons are on the left doesn't make it OS X like. Makes it easier to use, and they aren't even in the same order as OS X. And I've just switched DEs, after I broke Hardy. Generally been sticking with Lucid.

    I'm using Lucid too...pretty good general purpose distro....like it. I do have a growing interest in Salix though...time will tell :)

    Thanks! I will have to try this when I get home. I am still trying to get Compiz to make a cube out of my desktop (can't quite get it yet), but I may have to put that on the side for this one for the time being.

    LXDE added to a Ubuntu CLI install, I also have gnome(gnome-core package) installed though.
