Kind of liking XFCE, even though I've swore against it in the past.

The background information is made by conky and the shortcut bar might be wbar (but there are other similar tools for that).

Top panel is nothing but AWN, bottom is nothing but a window selector which I wanted there....as far as eliminating the gnome panel altogether, how do _you_ do it? I see many ways, but none clean enough for me so I leave it as is.

I modified my desktop a little, however, still kept the old wallpaper, I really like it!! I'm also hoping to keep Ubuntu for a lot longer, considering I've just installed Windows XP in VirtualBox. That should hopefully do me for school related stuff.

Thanks! I actually installed Windows 7 last night because my friend was driving me nuts and he wanted me to play Combat Arms, wouldn't work in Wine... But when I have the time, I'll chuck Ubuntu back in on a dual-boot.

Seems like programs launch slower. Looks like there is no right click functionality. You cannot drag and drop in the launcher. I don't like the file manager...

I managed to located a different File Manager, which brings up the traditional interface and gives me full right click functionality. I could like with this if this is the future.

.....Why not just use another Gnome distro? However, I fully support the move to KDE :) Specifically, Chakra or OpenSuSE :)

Edit: Also, Unity will look nothing like the unity in 10.10.

Ubuntu 11.04 gives you the option to use the traditional Gnome Desktop as well.

It's Ubuntu with Faenza icons. I decided to replace the Ubuntu symbol with the Debian symbol.

Yeah, I miss waking up at 7AM just to play Mario with my bros :D, good times .

Dead simple, but all the fun is in my compiz configuration. I love running 10.04 on my X201.

Cool desktop, KZ! Then I guess your X201 isn't "on the way" but rather "on the road" now, right? :)

This is as close to a dedicated desktop as I'm ever going to get for the foreseeable future. But that doesn't matter, since i have zsh + oh-my-zsh + node + rvm + ree
