Are you sure temps are ok bud? thats normal a symptom of overheat, if you run hardware monitor and play your game, it'l give you an accurate peak temperature.

Guide comin in...a few hours, lol.

Seems there may be a problem running the game on Dual Core and ATI cards with 9.11

I don't have any problem with my UK 210 Quad Core. Runs great at 1600x1200 although very slight lag if there's a lot of heavy smoke. I have also tried running in 9.9, which I have to say right now seems more stable for this game than 9.11.

There seems to be quite a lot of discussion on Steam amd AMD forums about 9.11 and dual core ATI series 3 and 4 cards.

I'd be tempted to wait for a driver update, since this seems like a common issue.

PS, if your getting high temperatures make sure your machine gets plenty of circulation on the right side since it can get stupidly hot. I made the mistake of not running my first machine on a flat surface with it o'cd and totally burnt out the machine. The power strip and GPU just completely failed but I did get a replacement.

1st i got GT725 212US which is guad core
i run game at 1920x1200 0AA everything on EXTRA
am always running everest program and gpu max temp is 74celcius after 2+ hours.i didnt check cpu but i will today

You also got loads of crap running in the background ! Is it that important to run everest and other of your BS app when playing games ? Turn them off ! On mine I have less than 50 processes , and mem is at 20% , when playing I turn off my AV and other stuff I ain't gonna need .. Also , tone down the graphics a little ..

 

I agree. MW2 can get pretty intense graphics wise. I'm lucky to get smooth game play consistant at 1600x1200 let alone 1920, and like Dead2th3world has already said go through your windows running process and kill anything you don't need.

I don't run any anti-virus/spyware tools or third party maintainance software, it just slows it right down. Default windows protection is good enough. Never had any problems. Just paranoia sells AV and spyware tools

 

i just run everest nothing else...i have 50 processes so i dont have lag from processes

ppp also how fishslice play mw2 at 1600x1200 fullscreen? i try all aspect radio and i cant get full screen..

 

never been a big fan of them anti-spyware , especially windows defender , it's always off on my lappy i use avira , it doesn't use much mem but those annoying pop ups can't ruin your games

 

I can get any resolution from the game menu from 640x480 up to 1920x1200. I find 1600x1200 gives me the best performance without AA and everthing set to high and not max settings. This gives good consistant frame rate on the UK210, and still looks great.

 

Does it not look strange? because the native aspect ratio is 16:10 (i.e. 1920x1200) and you are running it in a 4:3 ratio. So you have the same amount of pixels vertically as me (when i play at 1920x1200), but you have 320 less horizontally.

My bad, I've checked and it's 1680x1050. Even without AA it still looks really good. It seems the LCD naturaly softens the pixel edge a little, but not enough to make it look bad, since this isn't the screens native rez.

 

i even cant set 1680x1050 and i dont know why..... my res of my pc is 1920x1200..i dont know whats going on..u play with ur 17" lap screen or u plug it somewhere else??

 

you should be able to play at that sceen resolution from within the game.

If you go to the games graphics/video menu you should be able to see the rez drop down in basic settings.

Is it greyed out? I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with your machine?

 

i went back to original ATI drivers 9.7 from msi.com

when i was home and i plug hdmi to dvi to my 22" lcd i had 1680x1050...now i dont know whats going on
any suggestions?
(mention my laptop is US version if that make any different its GT725-212US )

 

Gah guys, i was writing the damned tutorial today, and guess what happens, im using cntl A to select all just so i can make a check point, when i go and close to tab and loose all of that work

Basically the tutorial was called, Undervolting, 64Bit, Half Multipiers and Single Thread Overclocking.

(Theres a way to trick the processor into overclocking single threads on up to 3 processors i think.) (No sophisticated changes etc setfsb, just some multiplier adjustment which strangely works.)

I can attempt to redo it if people want.

Change rez within the game menu, and not desktop or CCC. Not surprised your not getting lag on 9.7.

9.9 works well for me with Mobility Modder.

I think that since the Advents ARE msi's and since MSI still gets money from selling the tech to Advent that we have paid enough already (just less than the rest of u...)

but while am in game i cant see any diffeence between 1650x1050 and 1920x1200
is that ok?

Ahh 40 wont last ya too long bud, i havent got MW2 yet either, today hopefully .

Fallout 3 is still pretty crazy, couldnt get into FC2 too much. Although i am using 9.11 drivers however i occasionally get some stupid stuttering so i may take lenaaras advice and get 9.7 buuuut.... DNA version so i get the good performance and stability behind it also.

And one more: i couldnt have mw2 to 4x AA , everything on EXTRA Sync Frame ON and what else with moded ccc
Now with stock one i can have it full without overclock.maybe i get a little lag just 1sec but with little overclock we will overtake that.. i worry bout temps coz i get 80 with these graphic settings and i dont want to overclock.a friend who has gaming pc his temps are: 28celcious cpu 38 gpu.:/// jealous
I sent email to msi to tell me if i will remove warranty sticker and dont remove anything from laptop i will still have warranty and am waiting answer. I want to open the back so bad and run my cooler pad on full..significant drop temps am pretty sure!!

 

NO don't update ! FO3 lags even when there's no heavy gun battles .. anyway that game is awesome he will never change ! now he's harassing msi customer support
