5970 is the best out there not the 5870 ( even though it is GOOD ) .. good girl ! hopefully we won't be hearing anything about CCC , temps or MW2 anytime soon what you mean by 24" or 26" ? a new screen ? if that's the case i would personally go for 22" .. i got my eye on one at the mo

guys if someone know how to raise on rmclock the multiplier tell us please.
I tried sometimes to undervolt with it but somehow my laptop always freeze from voltage reduction. Not to mention but interesting the when my cpu ste back the speed from 2ghz to 1.6ghz my cpu voltages (CPU-Z) raising from 1.15 to 1.263. In rmclock not know any voltages under 1.2 for my cpu.
So it will be resolved this in bios 1.1?

Unfortunately there is no space for a second HDD (Just external) however, you do have a free mini pci slot so you can go netbook style ssd in there.

As for half multipliers, give me 1 more day, im going to be quite work focused tommorow and will definately get the tutorial completed for you folks.

5870 may be powerfuller lena, but the £100 price difference i dont think makes up for the small improvement in clocks.

Naa its no issue, but i am not too worried about the board going as it has its own ec chip and blah blah, its like a complete individual module, i think we can also buy the boards too, but i understand what you mean, that is indeed quite worrying.

 

I only care about idle temps, as I use my GT725 for work 5 days a week. Load temps I think are irrellevent, unless you are overheating. If you're playing Crysis on very high for hours, of course your temps are going to be through the roof.

 

Hell no, i played crysis for 4 days straight without temperature issues .

 

It stays on more than 11hrs a day and never had temps issues whether on idle or load .. right now it's 39 while surfing .. 5hrs on crysis with average temp of 65 something .. bottom line is my 725 is running ice cold . lena is the one having temp "issues"

 

Yeah I'm saying if you're playing Crysis for hours your temps are going to be high, so theres no use stressing.

Im thinking ICD-7 but i'd need to look for good pads, i want to get the memory wraped up all nice and cool on the 4850, as that seems to spike much higher then the other diodes.

my case is closed , 1) that's because i don't want to damage anything with static E. , 2) i NEVER complained about temps , it's you who been complaining .. check my other post , i always said my temps been low , 3) copy you ? you must be kidding

Yeah I'll have to look into pads for the memory as well, as the ram is hotter than the core. Let me know if you get some good ones. That would mean removing the heatsink again which also means re-applying the whole thing

 

I see 3 taking effect to IDA multi locking, but the fourth hasnt budged yet, may try to hit 2.5 ghz OC with the multilock and fsb, the q9000 should be quite happy with that.

 

Do any of you open your laptop to clean out the fans? and if so is there any guides on it or do you have pictures?

 

and how easy and safe is it to clean out crumbs from the keyboard

 

I did that over the weekend. See the sig, under the thermal paste tutorial, it'll tell you how to get the fan off.

 

a shame i ain't got a Q9000 otherwise i would have give it a go , got screwed for my Q92 .. waiting for refund and probably get a Q91 from shirley afterwards .. there ain't many quads on ebay at the mo

I use the compressed air can to blow the dust away from the fan and keyboard , that's the easiest(& Laziest ) way to do it

 

Ahh shame dead, you still have the p9500, could try and push the clocks past 3.4 ghz?

 

So you guys have finally figured out how to o/c the Q9000? Going for 2.5ghz? I would be happy with just 2.4ghz and stable temps. Keep us updated .

When you work on computers you're supposed to touch the metal casing surrounding the motherboard before you open the case in order to prevent shocking your motherboard, video card, etc and frying them. If you leave your case open you could potentially fry your computer by accidentally nudging against something while you're holding a charge. (Rub your feet across a rug and then poke a friend = static electricity)

i wont open my case again..i will cleaning fun and headsink 2times per year.I contact with msi support and they told me that i lost my world wide warranty by removing seal but i can still send it back where i bought it and fix it..unfortunately i stay in UK and i bought it from USA. I dont think i will send 1400euros laptop to USA.. nevermind everything is ok i cant find any reason to send it back to usa. I dont know bout ur laptops but coz i dont move it from desk its brand new.very clean no scratches at all )) just brand new

Oh, and if you're still worried about cpu temps, you could try de-lidding (although this is really only effective on quads).
