Well I updated the AACS key like it said I needed to do. Had to run as an administrator in order to get it to update. After which I put my blu-ray in (In the name of the King) and it pulls up a red screen that says I need to update my blu-ray player in order to play this video. It gives me some website that explains why I need to update it and then tells me I need to go to my manufacturer's home page in order to update. However, if I try to play an older blu-ray movie such as Fast and Furious it works without any issues. I guess I'll download a couple other blu-ray programs and see if any of them works. It just sucks since I'm in Iraq and my downloads take such a long time. Aggrivating!! Anyway thanks for the update about MSI saying we have no firmware updates. Boo!

    For clarification this is what the error message on WinDVD 8 I get;

    WARNING:
Your blu-ray player requires an update in order to play this disc.
Please visit your blu-ray manufacturer's website and follow their instructions to update your blu-ray player.

For additional information on blu-ray player updates please visit the blu-ray update website at
    blu-raydisc.com/forbestresults

20th century fox is not liable blah blah etc

That's the jist of the message I get on WinDVD 8

Thanks for the help guys :p

I can't watch movies on my sony bravia via my 725 coz of some copyright BS or it may just be the lack of support for HDCP on the bravia and now this ... getting better and better  like you said , big F. BOO!

Hm, still trying to get this blu-ray crap figured out, lol. Sure would be nice to just have my PS3 here to just.. pop it in and play!! lol.. Downloading totalmedia theatre to see if it'll play using it. Tried using MPC-HC, downloaded the H.264 codec and whatnot and tried to play off the disc. From what I read you have to rip the blu-ray onto the HDD in order for it to work on MPC. Bummer, another file I would have to download in order to rip it, lol.

Anywhos, haven't played any games lately. Need to get back on FO3 and play some more but I'm trying to get Mothership Zeta installed before I go further on the game. Level 21 now, Deathclaw gauntlet, chinese stealth armor, lucky 8 ball, lucky shades, and the radio dude's hat that gives +1 luck. Lol. Kill deathclaws in one hit on hard with a sneak attack critical. Still don't have all the bobbleheads, need to start on the main quest again. I think I just passed the part where I did the simulation and now I'm supposed to go back to project purity, etc. Fun stuff!! Helps that I've beaten the game a couple times already :p!

Ok ok.. going to sleep while this blu-ray program downloads, hopefully nothing interrupts my download and pisses me off!! LOL! Later

Huraaaay, make sure you keep close eye on temps!

The 4850 can stand up to 1125 on memory clock i believe.

But overclock very slowly man, no rushing now you hear me!

thanks catacylsm for ur care..really thx
i had problems with core clock at 550.
so u wanna hear the best clocks? i wanted to keep them secret coz lot of here dont like me but anw..life is too short..
    on the game u know..mw2, full i played 2-3 hours with 535/920..max temp 79-80
    just perfect :))) smoooooth
i thought that trick with maximize vram mhz coz as u can see manufatures of graphics card dont really care about gpu core as they give max 850mhz.if u see at vram they update to ddr5 for 1200+ mhz.so lower core mhz to 535 and issues just gone :p
let me know if am true..
with my system it works perfect until now..
oh also i flash idle clocks too 160/200 and the screen was lighing like dead and i scared LOT ..so dont underclock less than 300/300 :p

Hmmm, this is good to see lena, so no problems with the memory and core up that high?

How did you get out of underclocking it so low??

You've got me all curious now dam you lena :)

run some 3dmark 06 runs and a vantage, but do this after you find what ur max memory clock hits! :D.

What gpu bios are you also running?

That is a nice laptop, yet it would cost 2x what a GT725 cost, and weight more than 2x.

I'd probably reformat, my answer to everything :p

lenarasss, surely if your laptop is suffering an intermittent fault like this, it's down to a running process starting up, consuming resources. A virus scanner, spyware scanner, defrag, or compression and storage software.

When the problem starts I'd look through your running processes and track down anything that may look suspicious that could cause the machine to slow down, particularly anything which may be consuming the CPU or accessing the hard disk.

Hardware would be the last place I'd be looking for now.

    Just a thought.

ok, well double check the internet security software isn't scheduling a scan while your playing, and although 50 running processes isn't a lot for Windows 7 it's still worth checking through to see what is running.

It's rare for this sort of problem to be a hardware fault, and you can easily obsess about overclocking, voltage settings and timings. Try and approach it methodically.

Honestly I'm wondering if it is just WoW. I do notice that when I push the 'turbo' button in wow the issue gets even worse, though.

I'll try to play some other games and see what kind of temps/performance i get.

Here is an article about C-State,

Intel mobile architectures such as the Intel® Pentium® M processor include Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology to optimize power and performance according to the demand on the system. The technology operates by providing multi-point operating modes (referred to as P-State, P0 being highest CPU frequency) on the CPU that increments or decrements the processor frequency depending on the demand. When there is negligible demand on the system and the CPU is idling, it provides multiple processor sleep states (referred to as C-State; higher C-states such as C4 refers to deeper sleep state) that reduce the overall power consumption significantly.

Every interrupt will pull back the CPU from a deeper sleep state to C0 due to the interrupt handler that services the interrupts. This impacts the sleep state residencies that are critical to optimize the power consumed. There is also an energy cost associated in transitioning between multiple C-states. If the interrupt rates are high, the power savings due to deeper sleep states are negatively impacted due to the decrease in sleep state residencies and the cost associated with C-state transitions. While Intel® platforms offer platform-specific C3-like states, they require long residency (multiple milliseconds) to fully amortize their transitional costs. An aggressive interrupt rate can potentially negate the benefits of deep sleep states offered by the platform.
