I wouldn't say all that work for nothing... Now you know how to do it when the 10.1 drivers come out.

Got some nice x530's (the bass control on the rear of the sub barely/doesnt work) lol.

Although they are not bad, im running the realtek card in 24bit 192k hz sampling and i occasionally get a stutter (odd stuff) but im also checking the DPC latency and im actually getting some yellows in line with the stutter, now im wondering if this also has something to do with my stuttering problems in game, now i need to re-create the troublesome stutter :p.

Confirmed DPC latency yellow spike for me in call of duty, idling on desktop with wifi browsing and some minor demo downloads is hitting red dpc latency!

Must be the wifi card in my case, will shut off and report back.

I have the x 540s, which are just basically upgarded version of the 530s aesthetically. I also have a soundblaster x-fi external 5.1 sound card for my laptop, and they work amazingly :)

Yeah, you have the control box seperate :p This im happy to know that you have them though!

Dude my bass is really loud even when the bass dial is on 0, are you finding this with yours??

I want that soundblaster! having to run through the supplied rca jack to tripple inputs. (although our machines do support dual input outs :/....) WHERES THE THIRD!

What i think is also happening with mine is that all 3 inputs to the sound system is piling up on the bass unit, rendering the side woofer pretty ineffective :( it doesnt sound bassy as such but rather, like its rattling something (but not rattling an object, just the sub outputting that.)

What do you think of the logitechs?

Well my bass is fine, trust me, if my bass was as loud as it can get all the time, i wouldnt have a place to live. The sound blaster is convenient because well it allows easy 5.1 hook up, and it also provides nicer sound than our onboard soundcard. I really like it for just playing games too, it has a 3d effect that basically makes my earphones as good as those super gaming headsets, and i dont have to look geeky :p its also extremely portable. Overall I think its a necessary investment if you want to play music through your 5.1 speakers with your laptop. My speakers are great, it just sucks that for music I have to use matrix mode, since most music doesnt support 5.1 sound :(

Will definately need to get one then, which outputs does the sound blaster have because i checked and it looks like an rca left right, center/sub 3.5mm and a rear left right 3.5mm?

I could just use the laptops dual out for now i think that would work reasonably well, as i say though, its a shame there not in quad configuration :(

I really pushed the 9.12 drivers to the limit just then. A few hours of online play at 80 degrees and it smelt like something was melting. No video card related crashes though which is good.

Hi Guys, Ive already posted this request in the Adent 7555 is an MSI GT725 thread but as this is the main forum for these laptops I thought I'd ask here too:

Hi Guys, I recently bought one of these fantastic MSI clones. Kudos to DSG (they are generally completely rubbish) for making this model.

Now here comes the begging request.... In my hast to re-MSI and de-Advent the machine I went and updated the BIOS and firmware to the latest on the MSI site. Now they both worked fine and I now have the MSI 2.1 SLIC table, which is handy. Unfortunately, the firmware updates remaps the touch panel back to the MSI defaults.

Does anyone have a copy of the Advent firmware, or could someone please use the dos tool to back there's up and post on here.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Bazza.

    Hey guys,

Had my Advent 6555 now for a while, and I do love it, but...

I recently bought a advent 4489 (msi wind clone) which i have updated to all msi bios etc. Are the GT725 BIOS files compatible with this laptop? Would be nice to have this MSI'ed aswell :)

Also, Bazzarooney, I believe the 7555 is the same as my 6555 but without blu-ray? if this is the case I'm running windows 7 on mine and my touch buttons are working fine. Would like a backup of mine? if so PM me :)

    cheers guys

Death2th3world, i think your missing the point,

my advent 4489 clone has been flashed with an official msi bios off the website, im asking if i can do the same with my 6555, as thats what bazzarooney is implying with his 7555.

The u90 and u100 use the same bios btw, the u120 is compatible in a sense, but using a u100 bios on a u120 causes problems like certain functions not working. the 4489 is a re-shelled u90, hence why it is compatible.

    Ok awesome cheers,

Any idea what bazzarooney was refering to when he says the touch panel buttons have been remapped to msi's default? I thought the touch panel by the screen was the same on both? it works perfectly on ubuntu and windows 7 without installing anything :S

    Left to right mine read:
previous track, stop, pause/play, next track, mute, webcam, internet, media and wifi. does it differ on the proper msi?

    MSI Touch Panel layout : previous - stop - pause/play - forward - eco - turbo - webcam - bluetooth - wifi - p1

Some keys could be in the wrong place or none functioning as the firmware was meant for msi machines and not advent .. as you can see from the above Layouts that it's not the same on both system

No keyboard shortcut I'm afraid , turbo is for overclocking the CPU , that's one of the little extras the msi got over the advent :p

Guys, would it be classed as odd if i had random foreign radio channels (i believe) coming out of my speakers? Could this be down to the line quality of my speaker input (i dont think it happens when the speakers arent plugged in, and im using a very cheap audio rca to 3.5mm connection.

May be the dead's trying to contact you OOOOOOOOOOOO :D It has to be the cheap cable , he heard weird sound(not foreign radio though :D) when using and cheap extension i bought off eBay but play perfectly with a more expensive one from eBuyer .. or it may just be your be speakers itself or the jack

Mind you it could also be the rca to tripple 3.5mm head connector :S, i mean i dont hear et and his alien buddies when i play the music (but it does actually pop.)

I've tried moving the power cables around etc, not working, its silly methinks xD.

Hmm the setup is rather strange dead,

The primary speaker is the front right, which connects to the sub with a D-Sub connection and the power cable runs from the sub.

Although all the other speakers input to the sub, the imput to all the speakers together is from the front right speaker.
