We love the Czechs too.

Nonono, dont take me wrong I chose Germany because its the closest neighbour - no offence
Anyway, ordering from DE could have one downside and thats keyboard. I guess you guys have specific charset on it do you? -
where did u get yours from? implanning of getting the 212us soon and it would help if i could know where you got it so i could avoid that seller, thanks
-
I got it from Scan computers in the UK and mine is 210Uk which i think is practically the same as the 212us. Also, there is no fault with mine, i have found out that in turbo mode it overclocks each core by 15% apparently, so the speeds i have been getting are correct. And as for the seller, they shipped it really fast and even gave me a free gift, so i cant fault the seller.
It would just be nice to see MSI give more specific details on the turbo mode
but anyway, its an awesome laptop
-
The q9000 can handle the heat, i had it going at 20% for hours, it just sat at 66-70
-
The keyboard can easily be replaced though.
When i buy the GT627 from Germany in july i will replace the keyboard with this US international keyboard (new design):
MSI Notebook Keyboard (S1N-3UUS191-L05) (16 euros)

Hi , laptopsdirect.co.uk would ship to czech as i asked them!
. Inthe end i got it from scan.co.uk and picked it up from the uk with a nice £50 return flight via easyjet . Nice

another question for you
did you get any LCD bleed on your? -
I heard about the LCD bleeding, I should get my GT725-075US model tomorrow, I also heard that the bleeding was only on the Glossy screens, is this true? Mine will be the Matte screen so I am hoping there will be no bleeding.
-
ah well seller has now agreed to pick up my lappy. Hopefully I'll get a new one sent out soon.
PS got no screen bleed on my 210, just power strip not working -
I initially had some massive light leakage/bleeding/whatever. But like I always tell people, just USE your computer. It'll go away over time. After a week or two it's pretty unnoticable unless you're looking for it.
-
is MSI GT725 better or the MSI GT 625?
-
to make things short, yes.
-
I didnt have any screen bleed on my screen (which is matte)
-
erm yes??
I asked is MSI GT725 better "or" MSI GT627? -
Well, you know what they say... ask a stupid question...
First, you said GT 625, which doesn't exist.
Second, as almost any "what's better" question... it depends on what you want. The GT725 beats the GT627 in pure gaming performance and doesn't suffer from the keyboard flex problem of the GT627. The 627, however, has a keyboard without squished period, slash, colon, and quote keys and is smaller and lighter than the GT725. Also, being that you asked the question in the GT725 owners lounge, the responses might be a wee bit biased. -
yea i understand that.. i just need an answer cuz im planning to get it today..
I heard there was also a screen cracking problem with GT627 as well..
So the screen bleed will go away after a while? -
Hi, guys. I just got my second GT725 from Amazon cause First one is broken in the shipping box -0- But here comes another problem: my micphone didn't work, and I changed to realtek 2.24 driver, still only small noise and no sound...
Sorry for my Eng, but I really really wanna it working! Can you give me some suggestions? Thank you ALL!!!!!! -
Well if the mic sockets not working after installing the supplied driver I'd be pretty pissed! All you can do is send it back again!
I'm in the same position, unfortunately I have to wait till next Thursday now due to Bank Holiday and so on to get mine picked up as the power strip has failed, so no wireless OC or anything related to those functions.
I like the machine but failures like this arn't good. I may consider looking at another brand.
-
I am sorry that I have not expressed clearly that I mean the internal mic is not working. Thank you for your information anyway
-
nkwd, here's some advise from another thread that might help you:
-
Thank you very much!!!! It worked!!!

Hi All,
Complete newbie to the group here. I am in desperate need of some help. Just bought my GT725-210uk (yay, birthday present to myself) and had it delivered today. So excited, my first gaming laptop upgrade in over 4 years (yeah, I was down to playing just Civ 4 really haha).
Anyway, it's been fine all day (from 10am) until about an hour ago, the screen froze (I was writing an email in IE8, YahooMail, with Crysis demo d/l in the background, nothing else). CTRL ALT DEL did f-all, and everything had frozen. So I did a hard shutdown by holding down the power button.
Tried to turn it back on, and nothing. The half moon power light comes on, and the power button lights up, then a couple of seconds later it shuts down. If I have the power cable in (even though the battery is fully charged) it does the same lights thing, but it stays on and the fans start up, but nothing on screen, and no further progression.
I made recovery disks at the beginning (for once) but it's not even getting so far as to read them. Total blank screen. No Beeps Of Usefulness. Nothing.
I'm so gutted, I can't even tell you. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
Yours in Hope.
The Saddened Birthday Girl
PS - let me know if I should be posting this somewhere else, couldn't really see a "OMGMYLAPTOPSFSCKED" thread ;-) -
I dunno, I know one bad personal experience can turn you off to a brand (me to acer) but compared to the Asus owner's lounges, the ones for the 725 and 627 are very low on DOA/early deaths.
-
Just to add to thismy post above - I've done the static reset thing - battery out, holding power button for 20 secs, plug in try again.. no use.
-
This is the only thing i could think of. Although i have read that you have to hold the power button for 60 secs to do a hard reset.
-
Thanks, tried it for 60+ secs just to be super sure from reading your post, to no avail. Thanks for the reply, though.
-
call the MSI tech line, they will answer or suggest you replace a new one...
-
Will do - didn't think I was able until 2 weeks after purchase (assume it was vendors problem, as per the warranty card it came with) - do you have a number in mind? I will Google for one, but if you have one (UK) you've used before it'd be great to use the same one. Many thanks.
-
I am sorry I am in US, but I think you can search for msi.com or msimobile.com
-
The MSI uk warranty service is pretty good so I'm sure they'll give you a replacement. Just got my GT725-210 yesterday as well. I sure hope they've built my one properly.
-
I hope so for you too! There goes my Bank Holiday weekend of playing on my new laptop
I'll post whatever happens (with numbers etc) back here, in case this happens to anyone else. -
Any MSI GT725 with Q9000 review?
Tq -
Tester, your 9.5 step-by-step install worked. rep

..Awesome

Hey can anyone tell me how to update my Graphics driver?
I just bought my GT725 the UK version the duo core one and when it plays Team fortress the graphic still looks a bit ty. Is there a way for me to upgrade my ATI graphic driver?
I am currently using Window Vista 32bit, the one that comes with the laptop.
Thanks!!! -
I live in Canada and am contemplating a 074 model from newegg.ca. The couple of issues I am worried about are as follows:
-Stuck/dead pixels (newegg.ca has a poor dead pixel policy) What can I do if my new laptop arrives with a dead pixel in the middle of the screen?
-I am having trouble spending that much on a laptop I have not touched before. How is the build quality?
-I am a programming student and was wondering if the resolution will be decent for long hours staring at code? Much bleed on that model?
I was also looking at the ASUS G50VT-X6 but the smaller screen and weaker video card are not looking that great and it's not much cheaper... -
Not that much more portable either. It's almost as heavy and needs pretty much the same size case. I have experienced nothing but awesome from my 074. Honestly, unless you code with white font on a black screen, you won't notice any bleed. I love 1680x1050 on a 17", it seems perfect to me. As for the dead pixel policy, you should consider XoticPC if they ship to canada. You have a complete satisfaction guarantee period with them.

can anyone help?
and btw, anyone know how to increase the storage space from D drive to C drive? -
Use vista's partition manager (Control Panel>System and Maintenance>Administrative Tools). Completely unallocate drive D:, after which there will be empty space to the right of drive C:. You can then right click on drive C: and choose expand volume (or extend, or something like that). Use all the new free space.
As far as the drivers, check tester's signature for the links. -
thanks for answering... just wanna know... cuz im a computer noob.. how exactly do you unallocate D drive? like what do i press? Disk Management and Delete the volume? or just shrink it? ( THANKS, i figured how to fix it.. )
-
yea furthermore.. i read testers thread in the "english" only section... there are a lot of german ( dunno what language it is) links which direct me to creating an account or something? Is it possible someone here could explain it to me
?
I would be extremely grateful thanks.. -
Delete the volume.
-
i cant really see tester's explanation cuz u need to have an account to see? and i dont really understand the language....
Can anyone explain it again clearly here? Thanks so much!!!
( On the updating of Ati drivers thanks!! ) -
Lol, what do you mean awesome? I think he's asking if someone else has written a review yet, not him providing one. Anyways, I guess forum language has a different grammar structure. Gramur lulz.
Edit: Not refreshing your screen before posting ftl. I'm a few posts late. =p -
need help on this please
-
Lol save time and read all the freaking pages, or freaking use the search on top.
-
Search 9.4dna drivers on google.
-
so i just need to download it and install? i dont need to clear drivers or anything?
-
with drivers from ATI i never used driver cleaning (found it causes more problems sometimes and only should be used if you had a problem after you tried the ATI setup. and had to do over again) (driver cleaner was needed back in the day when ATI would not uninstall crap from a previous driver that did not get replaced and was abandoned causing wonderful lockups BSOD's or complete system freeze at boot. they have 'Matured' a tad since those days.
however if installing 3rd party hack jobs like DNA drivers (which includes bits and parts from 3 to 10 different driver versions to get the 'Best performance' in a few games while hurting some games) i would use driver cleaner after replacing them. (lord knows what bits it has left behind) But at least DNA drivers install with no complaints unlike ATI's 9.1's to 9.4's
