No, I mean the Turbo light comes on, but you will see catalyst control centre is not installed, also Eco Mode Icons don't display or cannot be started. Does anyone know how to fix this in Win 7 or is this not possible at the moment?

 

fishslice, you have to make sure you have the "System Control Manager" drivers installed to take advantage of the eco-mode/gaming/turbo etc. Found out that without that program running the lights will turn on but nothing will happen. Just a thought but it should be the issue.

 

no this is already installed, sits in the system tray but does not function. So just to be totally claear, under Windows 7 Cat control, turbo and eco modes don't work. I've tried the mod tool, and forcing the ATI drivers but no luck so far. Any ideas?

Watevaman who did you buy it from off ebay? I got mine off ebay too for $1600 w/ free shipping (except then I had to pay for shipping cause my address was APO )

 

They work for me...well mostly. After installing SCM, turbo/eco functions worked normally. Catalyst Control Center has been an issue. I have only gotten the official MSI package to work. I can use 9.6 drivers, but it messes up my CCC... I'm hoping they fix this before official release.

 

The icons come up and the eco mode works after starting SCM, but according to CoreTemp the processor is still sitting at 2GHz

Are you talking about the verified windows 7 drivers. I can get this working, but the MSI control centre and catalyst control centre don't work.

Either I'm missing something here, or the CCC and MSI CC is all messed up under Win 7.

 

so long as your in Vista and your using Mod Tool everthing should be fine. If not just load the latest MSI video drivers back on your machine, and be certain too unistall the ATI 9.6 drivers first. The MSI Control Centre seems to get a bit techy if everythings not running quite as it should, at least in my experience.

 

Has anyone been able to get hold of one of these? I'm looking at this, to buy in the UK, but can't seem to find anywhere that has it? Anyone know whats happening with the stock of these? thanks

 

Nope, the official MSI vga packet for Vista works fine in W7 64-bit. Drivers and CCC

Wow, MSI updated their VGA drivers! Looks like 9.6 to me (updated 6/29), but I haven't tried them yet

I got it fixed, but my video card is not as good as it should be. Can you tell me how to get the latest drivers? Or best drivers.

I cant get my GTA 4 to play on all high
My crysis is bad.

 

First make sure you do an uninstall of your current drivers, possibly use Driiver Cleaner.

Then reboot and then install the MSI Catalyst VGA drivers from your driver disc.

Make sure your Turbo and Eco modes work and that Catalyst conntrol centre works.

If this all looks good, then progress onto the latest MSI VGA driver.

If the update works with Catalyst and control strip, then you could tentatively move onto the ATI Mod Tool and try modifying the current 9.6 drivers on ATI's website. I've been having issues with the Catalyst control centre once I'd done this, so possibly stick with the latest MSI version for now? I still get good performance with Crysis using the MSI 2009-06-29 update

 

The settings I've found best for GTA 4 are as follows:

Texture Quality: Medium
Reflection Resolution: Very High
Water Quality: Very High
Shadow Quality: Off (they look like crap anyway)
Render Quality: Very High
View Distance: 37
Detail Distance: 60
Vehicle Density: 50
Shadow Density: 0
Definition: On
Vsync: Off

You won't be able to set textures to high unless you use the command to ignore VRAM limitations.

With turbo on and these settings, my 074US doesn't dip below 25fps and runs very smooth ALL the time.

 

What resolution do have it set at?

i prefer to have the res turned down to about 1280x800 so that then i can get 45-50 fps, which also helps when there are more explosive scenes as they only drop down to 20ish fps. The most annoying thing is not having antialiasing grr i hate jaggies

 

Hello as many of you know aleady i had problem with my msi GT725 i sent it away for repair its took 3 weeks and i recieved it back yesterday.
MSI fault report show nothing wrong with the laptop and they replaced the thermal paste thats all i turn the laptop on and see the result for youself and plz post coment to what you think is wrong with it i am very disappointed with msi support

Yep I thought so!! Got mine from the same guy! He shipped to me priority and I got it within a week of him shipping it which was awesome! Everything was packaged good and the laptop is awesome!! .

Also got Farcry 2 and Grid in today and both look amazing! Ran both on ultra high for a few minutes just to check it out (but now I have to go back to work for a couple hours!)

 

Is that $1600US? Just wondering cuz i got mine for $1450US.

I'm pretty sure you'll need System Control Manager. Does your touch sensor work? Also, how did they stop working? Or they just never did?

If you entered the key on the bottom of your laptop, then you just installed home premium. Also, if the key you got from someplace else was home premium, you just installed home premium. The disk is only 32bit or 64bit, its the key that determines what version is installed. I don't think there is much of a difference between home premium and ultimate, I certainly haven't found any.

 

Has anyone had a problem where your computer just freezes after using turbo?
Then after I restart it works.

Also my comp just instantly restarts when I try 3.1 I have no idea why, I have a laptop cooler and from what I see my laptop is cooler than most, the highest ive seen it go was 78 c during 3 hours of Cryostasis at 2.9
and the CPU gets around 59 max to 62.

I would really like to be able to play at 3.1 ghz and what kind of fps are you all getting on Fallout 3? I get at lowest 30 and in alot of places 60.
I get like 80 constant on bioshock too.

 

yea lampo you have true!!i put the key under my notebook.. coz yesterday with same dvd i install ultimate anw i have problems find all drivers that i want ..i put the first recovery disk that i created and waitting to finish... ://

9.3 ye say? thats dissapointing. lenarass, I'd say it'd be worth investing time into the 9.6 drivers if you're planning to play many games. And watch out ninja dude, I think he has you...

You'll need to reformat again to install ultimate. And one more thing, I wouldn't go badmouthing tester... too much around here, he's kind of a legend.

Guys, now that my laptop purchase is finalized, I turn to you for guidance on what I should do first with it. I'm planning on installing Vista 64 bit, but I want to know if I'll have to update all the drivers and stuff again and if it will make any of the stuff existent on the laptop stock disappear (like Blu-ray compatibility) ? And what is the best way to go about getting a 64 bit copy? I've heard that the only price you pay if you get it from Microsoft is a $10 s+h fee, which isn't so bad.

 

lool .. i quess you want 64 coz you will have 4gb ram and not 3gb ?? doesnt make sence..i was playing 3 hours crysis with 32bit and the ram usage was 80% ...

 

I didn't get that model becuase 1. It wasn't out yet when I bought mine, and 2. I prefer a 1680 x 1050 screen anyday.

I'd say if you get a disk for $15, thats a bargain. Otherwise, you can find someone else with a 64bit disk (doesn't have to be home premium), enter your home premium key, and all shall be sweet. Or you could just download a copy, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. Actually, I think tester... wrote a tutorial on this. You can find all the drivers here

Nah, I've never done that before sorry!!! I think you can just download the latest from MSI, put it on a USB stick, (make it a system disk so you can boot from it), and boot from it, and go from there. Hope that helps you, as I said I've never done it before.

 

Also, has anyone had a chance to benchmark the new MSI drivers vs 9.6 catalyst?
