Oh thanks dude, great to hear my drivers have helped someone, instead of ruining their computers

 

Fallout 3 is very very addicting. I love the game! I've pre-ordered Point Lookout and Broken Steel already (they're out on Games for Windows - Live) but I don't want to go through the service due to me being in iraq and them not really being available here so I have to wait for the discs.

With Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, and the content of the original Fallout 3 I have 47 hours of gameplay on my first play through (Well, first play through on the PC, 2nd if you count my little run through on 360 where I only played about 1/6th of the entire game). Very fun game!

 

There are plenty of great games out there. And if you can't get the disk for Point Lookout & Broken Steel, why not try steam? Nothing at all wrong with that, its probably cheaper as well.

 

Well thats some good news about the ATIKMDAG, curious did you try them overclock settings with 3dmark?

Shame your not on vista 64 as i'd have someone to compare too

Normally it crashes on the shader model 3 score.

 

I've just tried W7 64 too. my other scores were on vista32

10156 with 16%oc and no gpu o/c. 667 mhz mem

weird... it's mad to think there can be that much dif with the same hardware ...

 

So what's the highest 3dmark06 + vantage score with the gt725 (default 1280 x 1024 resolution)?

 

Scores in my sig. Thats with turbo on my quad 9000 (2075MHz) and ati 550/900. There are higher scores around though.

 

10699 is definately something to be proud of, with a single-GPU laptop.

Wow, those vantage scores with the quads are MUCH higher than ones with a dual.

 

your 06 score isn't that bad... I might run a benchmark on mine one of these days.

 

I bought FO3 through Steam - but they don't offer the DLC's. PL and BS are offered on Disc but it's not released until August 25th. I've pre-ordered this disc already and it should be shipping out on August 27th (from Amazon). The only way to get the DLC's is to get them ilegally through a torrent download, to buy them legally through Games for Windows - Live which is such a horrible service and seems to jack up a lot more games than improve (Oh, and the downloads aren't working from my Iraqi ISP.) So my best option is to buy the disc which I already did . The game is too awesome not to buy the DLC's so I refuse to download them thorugh the torrents.

 

Did you blow up megaton? i'm really tempted to start again and blow it up this time as i have ended up killing everyone in megaton anyway (they annoyed me and I wanted to steal their belongings ) and also i want the apartment. anyway, back to the 725..

Cataclysm, have you installed the 9.7 drivers? and if so has it resolved the issue of using dual monitors without crashing?

Yeah blaze, 9.7 killed the issues with display drivers Still i get real low frames on furmark these days but meh,

Im running a dual screen vga setup but sincei have a grounding issue my wires are all messy to semi get it working lol, i've been told to aquire a 2 pin adapter to sort me out, i ordered a gold plated ferrite core vga lead.

 

where is lambo's inf.. and that inf for which version of the driver?


this is the first time i'm using 64 bit OS.. and all the games installed in `program files(x86)`.. does it mean these games run in 32 bit?.. if i reinstall these games in `program files`(not `x86`) will they run in 64 bit? i checked gta iv running in *32 in the task manager.. how can i run the 64 bit supported games in 64 bit?..


can i flash bios with cd or dvd boot? is liveupdate's bios update safe?

No I didn't blow up Megaton, but I did have the ghouls take over Tenpenny Tower. I also killed Tenpenny later in the game for the You Gatta Shoot Em in the Head quest, lol. I got the megaton house instead of the nicer house @ Tenpenny tower. ... It's alright though, I think I'm going to re-run through the game as an evil character once I get BS and PL..

 

yeh i started off trying to be a good character.. but then i realised it was easier to sell things to the traders.. kill the traders and then get everything back and more and then i ended up in a downward spiral of murdering and pillaging.. the annoying thing is that you can't kill the kids (wow did i just say that??!?!) in megaton.. as everyone else is dead.. except them, so they just run out shouting and absorbing my bullets

 

I've started playing Mothership Zeta. You get to keep all your stuff unlike The Pitt, Point Look and so on.

So now I'm in a space ship killing small alien guys with my winterised power armour and gattling flamer as a level 29 character with max perks. I did Brotherhood of Steel in one sitting since I think I was tooled up to much.

yea i already saw that "Wired LAN is found at (DVDdrive)\Vista32\Lan\Realtek, and the .exe is called setup.".. isnt working. i run it and its says that isnt 32bit my system...

Maybe I won't be switching to that Asus just yet. Like an idiot every time I tried to install the 9.7 drivers I was failing. I just figured out which step of modding I was skipping. Everything is running much better now, except for the game crashing. Now it makes a totally different clicking noise.
If anyone is playing COD World at War please let me know if you can make it more than 10 minutes.

Clicking sounds like the HDD is losing sectors, = bad if its trying to use those sectors at the same time.

 

I don't think so, because it is coming from the speakers and only sounds when it locks up when playing that game only.

 

Speaking of the speakers, how can you be sure they are all working and the subwoofer? I just installed the newest Realtek Dolby drivers for Win7 and the test only sounds the front right and left. How do we know the rest are really utilized?

 

There may be some Realtek diagnostics you can find somewhere. If not, just play some tunes, then stick your ear up to each speaker...

 

i play cod4 and cod5 for HOURS ..no crashing at all. not overclock at all , i just use a cooler pad, windows 7 64bit and nothing else...also the cod is patched

 

yea m8 i already looked there but i only see 3 files and the third is .sys, so its my driver..just copy paste it in windows/system32/drivers?

 

Ok that infuriates me now. How is that possible? I have all the right drivers now and it's on a Thermaltake cooler. I get a good 10-15 minutes and total freeze. So far it's the only thing that causes that too. I wait patched? So are you playing multiplayer online?

 

If worst comes to worst, try a re-format. But it sounds like there might be something wrong with your hardware. My sympathies

 

I just updated to 9.7 drivers.. everything is going fine.. except i am still having a problem when connecting my external monitor via hdmi. Both screens flash for a few seconds, then it just crashes and restarts. I think it may be because the 725 is trying to force a 1080 resolution on my external monitor, which can only go up to 1680x1050. Is there anyway to stop this? Once the monitor is connected, i can't do anything as it just flashes a few times.

yea i play multiplayer with both games! your cod5 is original? also with no overclock while i am playing cod5 the gpu activity go only at 80%max so no chance to freeze.

What monitor are you using? I have just purchased a monitor with that res and it has some nice drivers.

First thing i would do is detect displays after its plugged in, (with the new catalyst centre) (Use mobility modder not normal methods to update)

Then graphics and displays in ccc, and number 2 (your monitor should be there grey')

Right click and try configure to your monitors EXACT res, i believe both monitor and laptop lcd have to be same refresh rate (60?)

Dont try and force options though, if not try purely through display properties, it took me a while to get used to it.

 

I'm using a Logik 22inch TV which has hdmi input, so i use it as a second monitor. I followed Lambo's guide for the 9.7s so i didnt use mobility modder. Also, i have tried to change the res of the 2nd monitor but i can't as the screen flashes on and off a few times when i plug in the monitor and then it crashes. I tried setting the res before i plug it in but it just resets.
oh well, if i really need it, i will roll back to stock drivers

 

Come to the conclusion that its CCC not the driver, use mobility modder, its far better then manual

 

I really don't want to re-install now. All the patches to the games take hours. I just don't know why it would only be with that game and it is the original. I think when I installed it on the Vista 32 it ran fine, but I can't remember. A hardware problem with only one culprit? I don't know.

ok i just did the vantage test and it seems to be pretty normal with no turbo on right?

Quad......why?
I checked them against the first page of this thread and it was a little bit higher.

 

I was just wondering, becuase if you have a quad, your score is going to be higher than if you have a duo.
