It happens to me when at 60% signal strength, games will just drop, i cant understand why, i've tried re-seating it but no luck, tried other drivers from intel but no luck, it just has to stay at 80%-100% for me :(

Hi fellow gt725 owners. After waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive, my own gt725 came. Best of all and most surprising it has a black shell with silver instead of red. :D Installed the 9.9 graphics drivers last night, just have to test them out with a good hit of Waw.

Welcome to the nbr forums for starters. Your silver chasis, is it a barebone? And also, I'd go back to the 9.8 drivers, the 9.9s are a bit unstable I've heard.

Hmm actually lambo, they did release the carbon GT725 at some point, with silver/black chasis and the blue backboard (not the advent one, but the gt725 one in blue).

Its definatley a gt725, its what the sticker says. Your right about the 9.9 drivers lambo. installed them and then i couldn't even get into Waw. Would come up saying that there is an error that windows has no ideas about. Now to find 9.8 drivers. Anybody know where i can d/l them from? ATI website has gotten rid of them

What bag/case/sleeve do you guys use with your 725? I currently use the msi backpack supplied with my 725, but to fit it in i have to remove the battery (for it to fit comfortably) and i need a new case (preferrably more of a shoulder strap bag that i can fit my external hdd and other bits in).

I was thinking of this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Targus-Mess...200-11/dp/B000687SLU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

    what do you guys think?

Hmmm, they dont have any in at the moment, but I got a 19" Ebuyer Extra Value backpack for mine...for a whopping 6 quid. Its nothing special but is solid enough and has plenty of room (the m17 is quite chunky). If they come back in, Id suggest grabbing one. If nothign else it'll cost about 8 quid with saver delivery so wont break the bank in any way possible, and with the front pocket would probably hold your antec 200 and power pack nicely too.

Was a bigger version of this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138809

I got a cheap nylon briefcase style (lay it down to open it) 17" case from Ross which works great. The battery isn't an issue for me in the MSI backpack, but the height is (well, width of the laptop, biggest dimension, whatever you call it). The backpack barely zips over it and it doesn't feel well protected to me. I got a cheap neoprene sleeve for mine which I can actually use even inside the briefcase style case for extra protection if desired.

I managed to fit the GT725 in the backpack provided. It's a tight squeeze with the 9-cell battery and all. I suspect the bag is actually designed for the 15in chasis, because theres no way, even if you can fit the laptop in the bag, that you'll get the securing strap over the top.

And I hear len you want a pic of the motherboard? In my sig about applying thermal paste there should be one. Enjoy.

I've used the RBE Bios Editor to save the original Bios and only revised additional features method 2 no hash to set the Upper limit GPU,Upper limit RAM to 550 1050 then save it as another file, when I was flashing the new 1.0Y BIOS,poped up a never happened before warning said something not found with the NVRAM,and finally when flash BIOS finished said checksum is bad.I thought I should roll back the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4850 Bios. But when I restored the orginal rom file I'd saved, the problem is still there. And I found I can't open GPU-Z on my MSI GT725.I also use Enermax Aeolus but I found it's smaller than the GT725,not very suitable.Btw,where is the attached Bios file,I didn't see it.Thank you very much,it's very kind of you.

Or could you use the ATIWinflash to save the VBIOS as a .rom file, probably it's better compatible.

here you go , i've attached it . even though the enermax isn't that big the fan does cover all the vents underneath the notebook compared to others. and you mentioned something about bad checksum after the bios flashed , isn't that normal ? you need to press F1 or F2 and set it to default

When on Aeolus, when you open the GT725.It's easy to slip on it.So I recommend people to buy two Aeolus or a bigger another one.

mine fit perfectly and doesn't move at all .. bring it to the front till there's only half an inch on the enermax showing at the front .. the half inch on each side doesn't really matter there's no vents there .. i would recommend a faster fan as the one in the enermax seems too slow for my liking

I tired it again, ATIWinflash can not flash your M98.bin and Radeon Bios Editor v1.21 can not load it,said"unable to find clock settings. This may be due to an unrecognized video card. Please drop a note to the eMail-address found in the about section - Debug information: 'GetClockPos' reported 0".Could you use the ATIWinflash to save your VBIOS rom?

Yes,it worked.I followed your instruction when I've flashed my system BIOS 1.0Y.Enter setup and load default setup, never show again CMOS checksum bad.But that warning is the same:No SMBIOS structures are found.Nothing will be preserved in NVRAM.I think it's a routine. Not a big deal.GPU-Z can not open all the same, probably is my system software isssues. And I compared my original VBIOS saved in rom file AtomBIOS version:ATOMBIOSBK-ATI VER011.016.000.020.031382,yours is:ATOMBIOSBK-ATI VER011.019.000.014.031766,really newer than my older one.hehe, all for this.I put away my Aeolus, the winter is coming, let it rest. When I overclocked all the system to the peak I can't play Arma2 with all highest setting fluently on the GT725.Looking forward to Mobility Radeon HD 6850 or 6870 to handle it.Thank you by this song <friends> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydingPIMWsgThanks to this forum,a good forum.

I know im using the older 4850 bios, so im out dated.

Yes! at the cost of a slightly lower clock speed you gain 2 cores and and a 100% bigger l2 cache!

    Blazin

edit: i may actually buy one myself...

2nd edit: why is the q9200 not on intel's website? did they not mass produce them..?

3rd edit: i'm not getting one.. as the only ones available at the moment are engineering samples, so i will wait til xmas and get a qx9300
