the only thing you will loose is your warranty as you will have to open the notebook , but apart from that it's kool ... unlocked multipliers unlike the retail version and pretty cheap .. on the other hand the p9500 is doing pretty good @ 3133.6Mhz .

Actually, if he switches back to the oem chip when he sends it off, (and if the oem chip is operation) he has nothing to loose, MSI inspect the components, and you can email them about potential upgrades also, they tend to ask if your knowledgable or not with these things.

Anyone here with a qx9300 managed to overclock it? I wouldnt mind knowing what the max limit is in a gt725, it may be my next purchase for my machine to complete with the i series processors, then im going to pray 5 series from ati are released to laptop withing power and thermal tolerance.

    A) The drivers for vga/4850 are fine in my oppinion, they work fine and now that mobility modder works to the full MSI dont need to release anything and probably won't if there aware of the MM tools existance.

    B) All drivers are 64bit universal except for the 02 card one and SCM which is buggy, however they run on the WOW32 layer for windows 64 bit, they all work fine.

    A) all drivers are 32bit but works on 64bit system , therefore they aren't proper 64bit drivers

    B) the mobility Radeon HD4850 is an msi product and therefore should support it by releasing their own drivers

they do work fine but i want proper 64bit drivers . time to jump on the 64bit bandwagon

No, there 64bit and 32, if you open up the files to look at them specifically, you can get the x64 setup exes but the autorun does that anyway, will grab ya some screenshots,

And for B, alienware have 4850s too you know, but MSI still kicks :)

Also if you do cntrl shift escape (task man) look at the processes, anyone without *32 next to it is 64bit :)

Hmm getting rid of vista i would say GTFO to it lol.

hello there, i im new here.

i wanted to install 64 bit windows on my gt725 q9000 version.
but when i installed it i hanged at the boot screen, it happned with vista and seven. and i know my dvds are allright becouse they worked for a friend of mine.

when i choose safe mode with booting it hangs at loaded crcdisk.sys and osme times at classpnp.sys depends if it is windows 7 or vista

what can i do to get 64 bit running, do i need to flash my bios/firmware?

i realy want 64 bit becouse i use my pc for 3ds max and other stuff.

    thanks in advance

The newest VGA drivers they put on there crash just as much for me as the modified ones.

Tuning into a TV channel on my WinTV results in a bluescreen for me.

Hey dink, welcome to NBR, i think what you may need to do is go into bios and disable acpi (i think), if not sometimes you can remove a bank, install windows and then reinstall the bank, i think there are other reasons too but im pretty sure the ones i've stated can help you out. I know the more experienced members will chip in also :D

Yeah, one thing i do hate is when all the drivers dont work like they should, and how alot of the time aren't up to date, had 2 bsods yesteday for trying to bridge my network cons but the lan driver kept tripping out so i went back to the old one.

Vista seems to break alot lol, although can look quite nice when custom skinned :D

I take it you mean 9.9 drivers? if so i would stick with 9.8 for now.. from what i've read, 9.9 doesn't bring any worthy improvements and also brings a few issues with COD world at war.

And catacylsm, vista looks good when it is custom skinned... to look like windows 7 ;)

Here, disable ACPI (Or whatever it is) or remove 1 ram bank during the install, i think someone else had this issue and it was fixed with one of these.

People talk about outside temperatures in relation to their laptop temperature... silly. Your laptop does not know how hot it is outside (unless you are playing games on it while sitting outside). If your computer is set up in your house, the temperature that matters is whatever your thermostat is set to. Your computer will run cooler in a house in Dubai air-conditioned to 72 degrees F than it will in a house in house in Greenland heated to 75 degrees. If you want your laptop to run a little cooler, push the AC down a notch.

Edit: I live in Florida, where everyone has AC. If you don't have AC ignore me, although the point remains, INDOOR temp matters, not outdoor.

...you have wrong..your saying that outdoor and indoor temps are not depend on each other? so why when i was at cyprus outside was 40+ "doesnt matter inside as you saying" and when i came to UK 20c max i can see that drop of my gpu temp?

Yeh i guess it is pretty fast  I tried farcry 2 again yesterday (havent played it since i was using stock vga drivers) and i can run it with everything on very high (dx9) without any lag at all. I can run it on ultra but it drops to about 25ish fps, so i guess the drivers really can improve gaming performance. (With dx10 it gets a tad laggy with eveything on very high.. but with no noticeable visual improvements.. dx10 for you ey?)

And where abouts in realtek manager did you see spdif out?

    Blazin

Edit: I was playing farcry 2 at 1920x1200 with no AA, as you dont really need AA at a high res.

Yeah, farcry 2 in ultra + dx10 is nothing special to be honest, there not bad, however i prefer the eye candy from crysis maxed out, even without AA.

As for spdif, its listed ontop of my hdmi port as the green circle, i wonder if there is a dual port for audio like they did with esata usb?

NFS Shift, hmmm i believe you should be able to ramp aa up quite high, remember that AA takes a fair bit of the GPU's hardware, as it does with all graphics card, the processing of the outsides etc takes a fair bit, so just take it up slowly and see if you hold stable frame rates. :)
