It's when you plug into an HDTV (1080p), in DX10, the refresh dosn't calibrate correctly to 60hz, so you get an underscan. Also for some reason you can't configure in the CCC.
-
Ahh, now i have that problem, however scan settings will let me configure them in CCC so i dont have the issue.
-
the configure is greyed out for me!... ah well... guess I'll just have to wait and see

Installed vista x64 business I had laying around on my GT725 and the 9.10 betas found here. Runs real good. Few extra points in Vantage (P6503).
Question: I have the windows 7 home premium 32-bit upgrade option for my GT725 coming in November. Will this by chance also include the 64-bit version like the other upgrade and full retail versions?
Oh, the drivers have a new setting in CCC 3D: 'AAMode' with Multi-sample AA, Adaptive Multi-sample AA and Super-sample AA. -
The left side of my screen has gone dark =\ about 3-4 cm on the left side look shadowed.. Its so annoying. Anyone know what it might be? Something I'd need to get fixed via a warranty repair?
-
Sounds so. Is the video card not posting or does it look like the monitor isn't backlit on that side?
-
Yeah it looks more like the backlights are screwed..
Pretty annoying! -
I think it should have 32 and 64 bit as I know the retail versions come with both. I'm now downloading Windows 7 Professional 64 for free through my university
and to think I preordered win7 home premium.. oh well
-
All versions of Windows 7 are identical pressing, so every version is on every CD.
However you will need to use the legal serial that comes with the CD to to run the version you have purchased.
I'm guessing Mircoshaft have done this to save time and money. -
My GT725 came preloaded with vista home premium 32-bit without a separate vista home premuim 32-bit disc. Hmmm, any idea how I would go about finding out the key once I receive the windows 7 update disc?

Thx fishslice!

i want 9.10 ccc
........
-
I know this has probably been asked already.. but i dont have time to search through the forum.. so here goes
I have just installed windows 7 professional 64 bit, and was wondering if the 32 bit drivers on the msi site will work on 64 bit (i assume they do as there is no other 64bit drivers on the site). Also, would you recommend putting 9.8 CCC on win7, or shall i just wait for 9.10? ( i dont plan on gaming for a bit until i have backed up save games on vista partition etc)

the msi drivers listed for windows 7 work fine for 32/64 bit, no problem at all.
-

-

-

hey guys managed to snag one of these locally, itll be here in a few days, got the quadcore/bluray one for about $1129, anything special i need for this badboy, or will regular ati drivers work alright?
dont really wanna go through mobility modder to get the latest but i will if i have to. -
Congrats on the buy.
I'd recommend you download the 9.8 drivers, as 9.9 are known to have some bugs (or you could wait for 9.10, but currently the latest stable drivers are 9.8). Also, you will have to mobility mod them, but it really isn't very difficult, it takes less than a minute to extract the driver and mod it.

how can i change the msi logo on my ccc .i cant have a white thing on the bottom right:// i want it to be red
-
Then download them from here and they will be red. It worked for mine.

still need to use mobility modder isnt it?
also anyone know when 9.10 will release? -
Yes they still need to be modded.
-
Automatikjack Notebook Evangelist
heh mobility modder, i remember that...
hey can someone give me some information about the panel in this laptop, like manufacturer as well as possible refresh rate, gonna need info in 64bit mode of course for vista/7, but preferrably 7.
Apparently 2142 and bf2 dont like 59hz or some crazy thing like that. -
Not sure of manufacturer, but it definitely runs at 60hz, and I have battlefield 2 and it runs fine (in vista 32, havent got round to trying it in win7 x64)
-
Automatikjack Notebook Evangelist
gotcha thx buddy, hopefully msi was smart and got the 60hz screens in all these models, mine's the 1440x900 one, but with bluray strangely enough... idk how that works. but whatever, im gonna grab an lg screen prolly if all else fails.
-
WHY isnt anybody responding!!!!
the problem is that 64 bit is not working in any way. and on my other pcs they are running fine.
so, does my warranty breaks when i remove 1 memory bank, OR are you guys shure that disabling acpi helps?
BTW 64 bit windows hangs on bootscreen, install goes fine -
Smart man, thats the one to get if you're a serious gamer.
You'll be getting excellent framerates. -
Automatikjack Notebook Evangelist
take it easy there dink what os is it youre installing, ahcpi or whatever that acronym is works fine for me when its enabled, is yours a stock machine and have you had other oses work fine on it and which one, version and x64/x86.
if it previously was a 32 bit os, then chances are you dont have that option enabled, 64 bit oses like ahcpi enabled, check your bios for the option, if youre machine never worked, then theres something wrong elsewhere.
lamo, idk man, 1440x900 bothers me, yeah ill get excellent framerates but im gonna get owned when i try to watch bluray, 720p is good but i wanna be a greedy b****** and get full HD, you can just bareley get that with wuxga 1920x1200 res, and (1920x)1080p with a few pixels to spare.
i know im gonna get raped with the newer games if i try to run em maxxed like crysis, or with even remotely high settings, but with that res i should still be able to stay inside the 512 range, just gotta watch the candy. -
Well I have the full hd screen, but most people seem to think that you cannot lower the resolution on a screen without it looking weird as ****. I often play Company of Heroes at 1440x900 with everything turned on high (yes I can run it on high at 1920x1200, but I use a realism mod which turns the population cap up to 99999, so it gets very laggy) and it looks fine. Same with 1680x1050.
I realise that some screens may not adjust well to lower than native resolutions, but as far as my screen goes, it looks fine. (Also at 1920x1200 you don't have to worry about Anti-Aliasing)
Blazin -
I have the Quad Core 1920x1200 and so far ARMA 2, Crysis, COD4, Fallout 3, all play pretty sweet at high settings. At 1600x1200? I can generally crank up to maximum and get within 20+ fps.
I use my 1080p HD TV and PS3 for Blu-Ray so havn't bothered with the Blu-Ray player on my GT725. In some ways I'd be pretty happy with 1400x900 for native rez, especially with games such as Dragon Origins and Borderlands out in the next few days.
I believe as long your carefull swapping RAM in and out you shouldn't void your warranty, so long as there's no physical damge. They seem pretty cool over this sort of thing. -
Yeah i spose. It depends on what you wanna use the laptop for. If you always watched bluray and never played games then you'd want a 1920 x 1200 screen, or vice versa. Crysis won't rape you though. I can run it on a 1680 x 1050 screen on a mix of high and very high settings and it ran fine.

when that f...ing 9.10 will release??? damn

I am connecting my laptop through the RGB out to LCD monitors (RGB in) and get these weird disturbances on the screen. Like scanning lines. I'm not sure how to describe those.
They seem to be much less pronounced when white color is displayed and go wild with color. They were also much more pronounced when I used a different resolution than the native resolution of the monitor.
Looks like there's some problem with the synchronization or something like that.
Anyone encountered this? I tried it on two different monitors. -
Alexrose1uk Music, Media, Game
Try a different VGA cable. Sounds like possible interference.
-
Spiral Architect Notebook Consultant
I did. I am using a new cable that came with the screen now... -
Lol join the crew, you have grounding issues if its VGA
(OR TOO MUCH JUNK VOLTAGE IN YOUR ROOM!)
So what you need is a gold pinned well insulated VGA lead, (Maybe better then the average ebay one because my display wouldnt work properly when i overdid it lol.)
The fix, (Coil your laptop adapter and use as little line to keep your laptop plugged in as possible) i also found that running it through an extention helps too (coil that).
People say to buy two pin plugs but my experience with no grounding is bad (laptops fail to work before due to adapter change.)
If you want pictures of how im having to run, i can gladly take. -

would have bought this a few months ago:

Please, if you can. I'm not an expert and more elaborating on what you did exactly would help a lot.
In the mean time, I ordered an HDMI cable, hoping a digital signal will fare better... but it will take a while and I really want to use it properly this weekend.
Thanks!!!
I just tried the same with a smaller screen (19") and it works perfectly. The two screens that gave me trouble were 26" and 28". I wonder what the difference is? -
Do you know what the refresh rates of the 26 and 28" screens are?
-
Spiral Architect Notebook Consultant
I'm guessing 60hz. Aren't they all like that?
How do I check?
The 28" screen is a HannsG 281DJ.
That was actually the first thing I tried changing, but I only get the option to change it from 60 to 59.
It does feel to me like a synchronization problem. -
Yeh I would have thought it would be 60hz, but it sounds like a sync problem (if it isnt a fault with the cable).
Edit: I have been looking at a number of reviews/specifications for the HannsG 281DJ and they all say 60hz, so I guess it is a cable issue. -
Spiral Architect Notebook Consultant
It's the cable that came with the screen and I used 2 other cables to check this. :/ -
My new laptop cooler arrived today. I got to say it is super. It's as though it was made with the GT725 in mind. It is the Lian Li NC-09B. It only has one fan but it is a big 220mm with a blue LED, plus two USB ports and one mini-USB port. All black aluminum with large steel mesh on the bottom and top of the fan, it looks really sharp.....especially with a GT725 sittin' on it. A little pricey but worth it to me.
