No, I'm certain this has more to do with the game rather than the machine. I have a better spec desktop that struggles with the game also, so I'd suggest just reducing the resolution, Say 1600x1200 and lower texture filtering and AA. Also selecting the correct v-sync can also make a real difference.
A lot of guys and gals get quite excited about changing clock speeds and getting extra performance, when really it's more about optimising the game your playing at the time. Out of the box the MSI can handle anything you throw at it, so long as the software is set up to meet the hardware spec.
Some known fixes for this game with ATI cards:
Install the game, if you're facing this problem then the
Known possible work-around thus far. (These are not step by step, but just try either one, or a combinations of them)
1) After installation, reinstall PhysX, removed your old drivers profile from My Documents
2) Run everything on DEFAULT, no change and no touching on graphic settings.
3) You could possibly "test-out" a similar aspect ratio to your native monitor resolution. However, after setting it, save the driver's profile (in-game), Quit the game and re-run, hit Career and DO NOT TOUCH graphic settings.
4) Change the CONTROLLERS, choose the preset number that suit the CONTROLLER DEVICE that you're using.
5) Turning off SLI and Xfire is said to give better FPS.
6) Cut and copy the driver's profile and configuration file to your desktop. Technically it means delete and reset. Re-run and re-config until u can run it.
7) Graphic settings that known to be working - Medium or MAX on all settings. For some, selecting the suitable V-Sync seems to do the trick.
Sometimes you just have to accept that a game dosn't always run so great untill its had a few patch updates![]()

thanks a lot.. if i lower the AA i wont have good picture quality ..also what is that v-sync can u please explain to me.also lowering the res. to 1600x1200 i cant have it on full screen its windowed:///
thanks m8..the game its great thats why i want to play it with full graphics.also when assassins creed 2 will be out? -
v-sync is in your CCC settings and in the games graphics settings. You need to check to see if your CCC is overiding it and causing the game to conform to it or not. It makes a real difference on some games like this which times your refresh rate to the refresh rate of the monitor, "vertical synchronization."
While capping your output to no more than the refresh rate is a part of it, the synchronization part is the more important part- it holds the image until the split second your monitor is refreshing rather than beginning a new image halfway through displaying the old one and tearing the screen in half.
I always turn it on so that the images don't tear and look computery. It does not slow down frame rate unless you are getting framerates above the refresh rate of your monitor in this case 60 fps, which can be a problem if it's left on!
Enable triple frame buffering on your card to keep the fps higher with vsynch on as well.
Obviously once detail starts turning up on some heavier rendered scene, you need to decide which gives better performance on or off.
AA I think at least is pretty pointless on anything above 1600x1200, since the pictures looking pretty sharp already. Not everyone would agree with this, but in a car racing game like this performance really matters over visuals.
Assasins Creed Google tells me Q1 2010, so your guess is as good as mine. Dam pirates! -
1. AA does not make a noticeable (to a degree) difference at 1920x1200, as there are enough pixels to stop the 'jaggy' effect that AA removes.
2. 1600x1200 is not the correct ratio for your screen, you should try either 1680x1050 or 1440x900.
Blazin -
yes I know, I really couldn't remember what the exact rez would be at 1600 since I'm at work on a poxy 19" desktop standred format display, but thanks for painting in some detail
Still 1680x1050 looks good to me without AA -
Yeh 1680x1050 should look sweet, even without AA. Infact the only game where i need AA is GTA4, as it doesnt have AA at all. damn jaggies!
-
Well I can have all of them plus 1680x1050, but i dont get 1440x900 either. However, just set the resolution in nfs shift, to any of these: (from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16/10)
Name Dimensions Diagonal screen size
WXGA 1280×800 13–15 in (33–38 cm)
WXGA+ 1440×900 15–19 in (38–48 cm)
WSXGA+ 1680×1050 20–22 in (51–56 cm)
WUXGA 1920×1200 23–28 in (58–71 cm)
WQXGA 2560×1600 30 in (76 cm)
Edit: Obviously you wont be able to set it above 1920x1200 -
you have 1680x1050 and the game is in full screen?tell me ur ati clocks too pls -
I dont actually own the game, but i have played many games at 1680x150 resolution. This is because our screen has a 16:10 resolution, so all resolutions that fit this ratio (see my above post) will be fine to use.
My clocks are 500/850 at the moment as i dont need to overclock (except when i am bored) -
except when i am bored
PppP
m8 i ve already saw ur post on wiki but.... yes we have 16:10 screen but something is going wrong with my ati drivers..i cant choose 1680x1500 . Also when i choose in windows other res except 1920x1200 the sceen get smaller and around it is black..do u understand me ? and i remeber that i never had that problem..what ccc u use? also how can i fix that://? -
When I play Race Driver Grid on 1680x1050, stepping down from 4x AA to none, you can see a difference. Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in turning it off like most of you guys. On 1920x1200, you shouldn't see a real difference. Especially if you're native res is 1920x1200, and you play a game at 1680x1050, it'll look a little smoother than a screen with a native res of 1680x1050.
@ len again, I haven't had a chance to try out 9.10 yet, so I can't help you unfortunately. I'm still on 9.8
-
u havent chance? why??? 9.8 ?? i think when i had 9.8 i could choose res. 1680x1050. with 9.10 i cant.. tell me again.. u can choose 1680x1050 and have ur size of ur screen same ? i mean..when i lower my res my screen get lower and around my screen i see black...help pls
-
Try going back to 9.8, they're better than 9.9 anyway, its full of bugs. My screen is native 1680x1050, so I'de be worried if I couldn't get it to sit on that resolution...
-
OK, I've got an issue with my speakers, seems only two are working. Looked over all the settings, but I'm stumped. Any thoughts?
-
I don't see this model being sold anywhere anymore... I will keep an eye on anything new that may come up from MSI (aside from those core i7 with GTS 250m's...)
-
Reinstall realtek drivers, normally happens when no audio drivers are present or correctly functioning.
-
Thanks, already tried that. Turns out that when testing the speakers with the Realtek audio manager, only two speakers worked (played the test note), but in actuality all speakers are functioning.
I think I've been living in Lower Slower Delaware for waaay to long! -
Looks like your right. However the GT729 is available. It's identical to the 725 074US, with exception of the GPU being bumped up to 1gig DDR3.
If you're interested, it's available here: http://www.excaliberpc.com/592267/msi-gt729-17-gaming-notebook.html
Price is reasonable too. -
yes this replaces the 725, and is stellar value for money, I would certainly take the plunge if you havn't already!
-
-
-
Right, when you are on your desktop (not in-game) can you set your resolution to 1920x1200? if so, then that is fine as there is no need to lower your res from the desktop.
Next, when in-game (e.g. nfs shift) and not through the CCC, can you set the res to 1680x1050 (or 1440x900) without it going into windowed mode?
Blazin -
Your laptop is trying to display an alternate screen ratio at native resolution. ie: 1:1 dpi (dots per sqaure inch) If you try and force it below native resolution it will be displaying at a different ratio, and so would cause the display to blur.
I'm not sure why you would want to do this in Windows, not something I've ever tried on a laptop as the LCD display is designed to display at it's optimal aspect ratio.
Granted you can change the display ratio in gaming, but this is a different case as it's directly related to fps.
lenarasss, this isn't a problem it's a feature. The driver will force the correct display. -
really thanks for all ur help..
so, yes i can set 1920x1200 in windows and its working perfect i did that to take a printscreen
second, i can find 1650x1050 in nfs shift but when i set it and restart the game the game is windowed and i cant turn the setting off:// i try some fixed bout nfs shift as right click on exe and set compatibility to windows xp/me which is absolutly crap coz i tested it and its very slow. i updated my physx i dont know is that i hate nvidia but anw
i have directx11 . i set the game at 1920x1200 without AA someone told me that
. and set shodows to low and maximize the other and its working perfect without overclock. i was checking my gpu acctivity while i was playing from ccc and it just goes to 35-40% max..so the freeze we have its from the ing game
and i oced for nothing
anw.. my question is how to have 1650x1050 with that laptop i have and not windowed mode..thanks
-
try pressing ALT & ENTER
-
ok I think I understand what your saying. If you want to run the game in 1650, and it's still displaing in native rez then I guess you could have a driver issue.
I would uninstall your driver completely. Restart windows, install the the latest MSI offical VGA driver. Then run the game. Go to your graphics settings, check optimal settings. Restart the game set to the screen 1650 or 1400 whatever you want to try. Confirm settings and restart the game over.
This way your cutting out as many variables as possible, and testing correctly on the stock driver. If all goes well then try the 9.10, but make sure it's modded correctly. -
Got my free upgrade win 7 Monday 26th. Definately 32-bit only on one disk. I reckin' I'll keep Vista Business x64 sp2 on my GT725, being as there is 4GB of ram, and save the win 7 hp 32-bit for a xmas present or something. Put win 7 home premium x64 on my main rig (comes with two disks [32 & 64]) and upped both Vantage and 3DMK06 scores.
-
just download w7 32 and 64 bit 7600 version and active them like me..;/////// its soo hard?
-
so...ALT+enter isnt working..bout 9.10..modded correctly?
i have the lastest mobility modder as i check and just run that and then push setup.ext? am i wrong? -
So with the Free Windows 7 upgrade you only get a 32-bit disc and a key.
Will that key work with a 64-bit win 7 installation? -
...as far as i know is that the key determines what version will be installed..so if u run 64bit with a 32bit key the result is 32bit w7...as far as i know.. i also tried it and am true
-
Not at all. A W7 Home key works with both W7 Home 32 and 64 bit. Retail versions (full and upgrade) come with both a 32-bit disc and a 64-bit disc. OEM versions (full and the free upgrades) come with only one disc. In the case of full OEM versions, you pick the version when you buy the box. In the case of the free upgrades, they send you a version that matches what you got originally on your computer. For MSI's, that's 32-bit.
What lenerasss said is impossible, because a 64-bit disc does not have the proper files to install the 32-bit version and vice versa. -
True said !
-
sorry i have never buy original windows so u have true! i only download them
another major question
the only reason that gpu can damage or rediuce performance from overclocking or generally is the temperature?? -
-
Our motherboard supports it,
No you cant cram DDR3 into our precious DDR2 Slots, play lego
-
Lol can't wait for my win7 upgrade... I think I'll stick with 32bit anyway, unless I come across a GENUINE 64bit disk.
-
If he pushes hard enough I'm sure he'll make it work
-
pm'd you
-
ahahahaha..i want faster ram
-
Let's see, your timings currently are 6-6-6-18
and 8Gig dual channel DDR3 10666 is @ 9-9-9-24
And will set you back $500 USD.
Am I missing something?
Oh, and DDR2 is 200pin, DDR3 is 204pin.
Wait, I get it, your taking the mick!
-
AHAHAHAHAHAH
i just saw these details on everset program
-
sssh! too much baiting... behave
-
blazin23.. maybe u can be my bf but i want u to fix my laptop coz as i saw its the same as urs. except 320gb hdd.
another question.can u play nfs shift with 1650x1050 not winodowed on ur laptop screen..and be careful what u will answer:////////// -
erm i think you are barking up the wrong tree..
as for the res, i dont actually have nfs shift, but i can play company of heroes, cod 4, gta 4, fallout 3 and farcry 2 at 1680x1050 with it full screen. -
ANW
...my tree
i like ur sentence tell me more.
anw 1920x1200 i think is great on nfs shift.i updated the nvidia phxy 9.10 ccc stock clocks at 1920x1200 0AA and everything HIGT..its working just perfect

hey guys help me out with this problem, i am using gt725 n i recently upgraded to windows 7 pro n there is this driver i cant find for it. It is registered as an unknown device n its located in Intel(R) ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919.
I tot that was the intel chipset, so i downloaded the driver from msi site n install it yet the problem is still there. Although it doesnt do any harm i would prefer if it not registered as an unknown device. Can anyone give tell me where to get the driver for it. Thanks -
Try the Intel update site here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng
Has a system scanner that should sort it out for you. -
I tried your suggestion vulnavia but it didnt solve the problem, it says all my driver are up to date. do you any other suggestion?
