harsh but true!!
Looks like they let anyone into they uk these days.. Mind u i say that as an expat with no intention of EVER going back!! Czech Republic ROCKS!!!
-
I wasn't paying attention and just realized I qualify for the Win 7 upgrade through MSI. Went to their site to register, but they want me to send a hard copy of receipt, plus $9.99USD for the disk.
Probably won't see the disk until around Black Friday. -
Send the receipt and you're all good. They didn't even charge me anything for postage!!! Was sweet!!!
-
here you go .. http://www.connectify.me/
-
Awesome! so in theory i can use this to surf wifi internet on my phone..
-
That's right .. on your phone , psp and other stuff with built-in wifi .. very useful for those who ain't got a router or something . hopefully it will work on mobile broadband
-
You can do that anyway with bridging connections and an ad hoc setup broadcast setup?
-
w7 rtm are same with these in stores?
-
They say : "The software differs from the ad-hoc Wi-Fi mode that's been available in Windows for many years, because it appears to other computers as an ordinary wireless hotspot, and doesn't require any special configuration"
sounds good so far but getting it to work is another thing -
Doesn't seems to be working with mobile broadband .. anyway , any of you guys using one of these http://www.saitek.com/UK/PROD/cyborgcommand.htm
and is it worth it ? -
i tried deads n your suggestion still didnt get it to work. Well thanks for your help i gave up trying to fix it as long as it doesnt effect my pc i be happy ^^
-
Yea, shouldn't be a problem, but I had one final thought. When I switched my system from Vista 32bit to 64bit I had a similar issue. After an exhaustive search for a missing mass storage driver, I ran Everest and found out it was the O2 controller I needed. All that time I was searching for something else.
Just for giggles, try running Everest and see if maybe what your missing isn't what you thought. -
Had the same issue , I guess we all do when switching from vista to 7 .. Anyway try the o2 again (Both 32and64) . It should definetely work
-
Automatikjack Notebook Evangelist
win7 is backwards compatible with 32 bit drivers from vista as well as 64 bit drivers, there shouldnt be much of a difference there for drivers, and in most cases win7 will have generic drivers. a good rule of thumb will be to write down all of the devices before reinstalling. if theres no luck there try using the gx720 drivers, they should use the same O2 memory card controller.
-
Hi,
Sorry if this has been covered but I cant find it but did anyone manage to find the drivers for the "unknown Device" when installing Windows 7 64 bit on the GT725 -087?? I have everything else including CC 9.9 and alls great.
Thanks
Rob -
Maybe bluetooth or webcam? Is anything noticably not working?
-
It all looks ok, bluetooth, modem, camera etc...The eco and Turbo buttons dont seem to work but I havnt downloaded the MSI software yet so that hopefully will solve that...have a look:
Interestingly Windows has just said I'm missing drivers for my infrared receiver, do I even have a infrared receiver on this model of laptop?? -
Installed the CIR driver , imsm and SCM for the turbo and crap
-
That did it, Thanks Dead..Cant beleive I managed to miss that one!! What is it anyhow??
-
You welcome
.. It's for the "infrared" thing which we don't seems to have
EDIT : We actually DO have an infrared port ! it's on the lower front of the notebook ! turned it upside down so many times and haven't noticed it ... -
and why we have the infrared port?
-
The Consumer Infra Red reciever is for handsets, ones for media centre tend to be quiite popular.
-
damn!! beat me to it!!
-
Yes, like this:
Available at Amazon.com -
Ahhh I see, useful to know I guess!! So far I've been really impressed with Windows 7 64 and haven't had anywhere near as many problems as I thought I would!
-
So I ordered my 20 dollar copy of Win 7 32 from MSI since I was eligible for it, but I still havnt recieved my copy in the mail, should I be concerned and how should I go about it
-
Go to this site https://windows7upgradeoption.com/TrackYourOrder.aspx
You'll need to enter your email address and MSI order code. -
I know ey, such an easy question, now he looks all "I'm going to help you with your laptop problems".
-
Have MSI mailed you an upgrade slip yet?
-
Wait. What?
I may be a little fuzzy on the finer details, but MSI is only charging $9.99 for shipping.
As I understand it, if you preordered, you just got a code to submit to MSFT and could download Win 7 when it was released. And if you wanted a hard copy they charged the fee. If you ordered the upgrade after Oct. 22, you pay the fee and MSI sends you the disk.
Only students that didn't qualify for a free upgrade were being charged $20. -
W7 for fwee, MSDNAA access as a student rocks!
-
why? lack of money? you're in the uk... should be easy as ..
-
and everything pc related are quite cheap .. even software .. w7 hp was 44£ ..
students get discount ... just say you prefer to download rather than buying -
I got that with computer sciences that one
Got it only a few weeks after signing on too, never been more happy haha.
Got W7 officially 2 days before it was out on disk. -
2 days before ? why so late ? the RTM was available ages before the release date
-
MSDN downloader wasn't working
.
And plus i got it for free so im happy, =) windows genuine for the win. -
i will buy my first original game..call of duty modern warfare 2....i should have dvd original dvd into laptop to play it?? i cant play without it? also i have another question ..i will buy the game original with unique code for online game.if i will paste the crack so i dont need dvd in dvdrom it will affect my game?
thakns -
I don't have CoD, but if the game has a built in CD check usually a cracked exe to remove the check won't work online.
If you buy through Steam you get a digital copy of the game to download, and since its through Steam there are no CD checks. -
oh thank u very much. i will check it anw.i just want to play the game with full graphics with not lag.we will see
-
Yeah I was expecting to be charged $20, but they just shipped it without asking for any money, very easy! I just got an email to say that it has been dispatched and will be arriving in 10-15 business days!!! SWEET!!!
Never had to say I was a student or anything.
lol: lenarassssssssssssssssssss
-
Lucky stiff!! I submitted my request online to MSI, and the site said it would cost me $9.99 for shipping. The confirmation mail that MSI sent to me requested a copy of my sales receipt, to be mailed to them in CA, along with a copy of the confirmation email (sheesh, talk about jumping through hoops). Then I'd have to wait about 2 business days for them to "process" my request.
I suppose I'll get it someday.
-
same xD
I have 2 versions of win7, vista business and xp pro
-
Ur not alone
-
Hehe me to, the only thing i wasn't able to get was 64 bit xp
made me sad it did lo/..
