    I had reached my forum limit of attachment uploads so I deleted some to make room in new posts.

    They were accidently removed from the post you want and have been reattached to post #4852.

    Wow, 631 pages is an awful lot now, haha..

    A job well done indeed to keeping this thread so active =)

    Has anyone found a way yet to remap the keys?

    I'd like to map the 'Scroll Lock' and 'Pause Break' keys to 'Home' and 'End' which I find more important.

    Suggestions people? =)

    RandyRants: SharpKeys 2.1.1

    This'll allow you to remap keys easily. You can do it 'raw' in the registry, but it's an awful lot of not fun doing that. Sharpkeys is just a GUI frontend for the registry edits. It should work with Win 7, but I last used it on Vista x86, so no promises there.

    Having said that, am going to go try it on Win 7 x64...

    edit: Found an alternative in case SharpKeys doesn't work: https://code.google.com/p/keymapper/downloads/list

    edit 2: Both appear to work.

    I upgraded the RAM last Thursday, installed both ssd's last night, and finished a bare metal fresh win7 ultimate install earlier this morning. It appears to quite swell.

    The process for getting to the RAM under the keyboard is spot on and worked w/out issue.

    I just got off of the phone w/Ken from GenTechPC and will be getting the 90% gamut screen, and the 1103 w/3rd antenna.

    Good times.

    You'll like that 90% color gamut screen. I've commented on it and linked it's specs in the lead post.

    I just got done reading the owners manual regarding my question but I didn't quite find what I was looking for. I recently purchased a Creative X-Fi Go but it isn't doing what I want it to do for my headphones. That's another story for another time. Anyhow, all I really want to know is if I can hook up a pair of "True 5.0" headphones to the on board sound card. Looking through the manual, I understand that I can hook up external speakers for 5.0 surround but it says nothing about hooking up a headset utilizing all of the 3.5mm jacks. Basically, I've never seen a headset that utilized true 5.0 surround so I don't quite know how many 3.5mm plugs it has and if they can all be plugged into the GT780.

    Thanks

    Do you know if all of the "True 5.1" headsets use this same set up with the one USB and four 3.5mm? Also, would our on board sound card support these headsets?

    The 5.1 headset they all seems to be made for desktop sound cards (see attached image), it required front/rear and center channel audio cable.

    GT780 will support front and rear but not the center/subwoofer, so you may want to check to see if there are converter so you can connect all cables into one digital cable to the green audio input jack on the laptop.

    Thanks Ken! Maybe I'll just take this Creative X-Fi Go back to Best Buy since I can't get it to play back 3D sound during game play like it says I can. I'll just suck it up and get a USB headset. It's going to hurt me a ton not being able to use my Sennheiser HD 800's while playing BF3. Unless you can think of anything else that would give me a virtual type surround sound during game play other than the Creative X-Fi Go.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem like yours. I'm going to buy this one: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro USB Sound Card powered by THX TruStudio Pro | Creative Labs Online Store

    I think it will solve our 5.1 problem. :)

    Ken,

    If you set the Realtek HD Audio Manager to 5.1 and then when you plug in your jacks can't the ports be remapped?

    Green = front
    Black = subwoofer
    blue = rear

    I think the Turtle Beach Earforce Z6 Headset will work this way?

    Thank you very much!

    It really is peculiar that they added this piece of plastic. It could have been intended to be foam in the design phase and someone down the line assumed it to mean plastic. Foam would make sense, to dampen sound. I'll let you know results once I complete the "operation."

    How much of an improvement did you notice once you removed your piece, WhatsThePoint?

    I manage to map the 'Scroll Lock' key but I failed to map the 'Pause Break' key.. This is weird, the 'Pause Break' key was shown as 'Num Lock' key when I try to capture the key as I type.

    Odd, did u try this with the GT780?

    wow, that's a expensive headset. :eek:

    For 5.1 headset, the decoder similar to this one should work:

    Amazon.com: Sewell Digital to Analog 5.1 Dts/ac-3 Decoder Surround Sound (Toslink/coax to Rca): Electronics

    It has one digital input to the green jack on the laptop, and output to 5.1 for the headset.

    The blue jack is audio in I don't think it can be remap. It can only swap Center / subwoofer output.

    Thanks. :)

    Does anyone know why GPUZ is saying I do not have PhysX? If you look at the bottom of GPUZ, it will have 4 check boxes. OpenCL, Cuda, PhysX and Direct Compute. Everyone of them is checked except for the PhysX. Is this normal?

    When you updated your driver to 295.73 did you choose Custom installation.

    In custom installation it shows driver parts options.

    I uncheck Nvidia Audio and Nvidia Update leaving just the driver and Physx checked.

    I check the box to perform a clean installation.

    After completion I reboot.
