hahaha you mean 2 topics or 2 posts? im not usually here unless im asking some stuff or reading :D i bought my rig at msi store at gilmore and around 1yr and 6 months now. i think you better go back to a more stable version of driver first i dont know where you got 326.10 but i think that is way advance than of the latest driver, anyway i only get my drivers from here Drivers | GeForce

if it is temp issue, i would like to clarify if "dusting off" = you opened your rig, sprayed air duster(compressed air available at cdr-king) at the heatsink tunnels and washed the fan.

and the software i used to OC is msi afterburner. it is as easy as it gets for OC beginners like me. :D but ofc, OC usually reduces lifespan if done incorrectly (pushing too far).

i saw that you are looking to upgrade cpu/gpu.. so where do you think we could get higher cards? googled much but to no success :(

looking at your sig, if you're having problems with video drivers, and it doesnt say if win 7 or win 8. but if you're using win 7, i'd use the nvidia drivers 314.07 until the problem is resolved. even on win 8 i'd try the 3.14 if they install.

if you're using windows 8 with a gt780dx, and having these problems, then i would upgrade back to windows 7 sp1.

i mean, windows 8 on a non touch screen is worthless imho. it's the vista of the decade.

well if you will do that im now running at this setup and been running it all day no crashes or any problems so i guess ill stick with this one.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-2410M Processor,Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MS-1761

and i think my score is a piece of cake because your CPU is a little bit better :D im happy that i found a kabayan here that i can talk to regarding my laptop as i plan on upgrading the GPU within the year if possible.

i only play World Of Tanks, Dota 2 usually, but once or twice a week i play BF3, Hitman and F1 2012

hmm, so if you did that already then i must assume that dirt in cooling sector is not the culprit (i would like to talk about changing the thermal pastes as they said the stock was crap but i have no experience regarding that so i wont :D)

im using the 320.49 version of the driver but i heard there are some problems with windows 7 users (im on win8 64-bit)

Ahh..yes pao..and i think were not the only kabayan's here..i play grid, dmc, bf3, cod 123, alan wake, crysis 12, dirt 3, deadspace 2..and emulators..maybe that's why im crashing..you can find how to paste thermal paste in youtube just search overheating issue part 1 and 2..its the same unit with us..i learn a lot in youtube..ill try first the 320 version if no success then ill go back to 314..thanks! how old are you btw?

Wash your fan, the heatsink, get Arctic Cooler and apply and voila, should have no temperature issues.

This is probably a stupid question, but since I purchased the GT783-625US would the extra stuff be included in the warranty? Like the headset? lol My left ear just went out :p

The problem is ive been onboard 8 months in a ship..got no Arctic Silver or TIM available whatsoever..haahaa..i tried sensodyne..i dried out fast..with nothing more..i just pluck out thermal paste of our ship's old computer..and apply it to my unit..

Problem solved..peanut butter type of re-pasting thermal compound..re-pasted again by following guide from Arctic Silver site..now working fine..using driver 326.01..

    Hello guys, I have GT783 model Laptop, and after sending two times MSI is not able to fix my problem;

It seems lots of times when I am using firefox browser the keys are randomly going back and I am not able to type or do anything anything; the whole laptop goes into bezerk mode; My wife found a trick to keep pressing Fn + Alt + CTRL keys and pressing the left key continuosly slows down the problem until it pops back again in next half and hour; so, what is the problem and why the keys are going back and I am not able to click anything or write anything?

What can I do to fix the problem?

@canadien get rid of firefox for one, been buggy as hell lately along with flash. I personally use Enterprise Edition of Google Chrome and have ZERO issues. I would also suggest a fresh install of windows, sounds more like corrupt OS then anything.

@canadien,can you be a little clearer in stating your issue.Did you mean black and not back.

Bad drivers and driver installations are the cause of most pc issues.

    I use Firefox and Cyberfox.

All my recent issues on Windows 7 x64 have been due to flaky NVIDIA GeForce drivers,

    Using v314.14 presently.

I concur with the clean install of Windows rather than spending a lot of time trying to find and fix issues.

Has the 770M been tested? It's a "new" chip (GK106 was not used in 6xx series mobile) so nothing could be assumed about it..

Well you need an AMD card and heatsink to go with the latest hardware such as a 7970M, just be sure to get the right vbios flashed to it.

Ok, so I'm in the market for a new headset and I've been looking at the "Razer Tiamat 7.1" now, they show a little setup video and the plug ins show 5 cables for 7.1 sound, the GT783 claims 7.1 output but I only have 4 slots? should I look elsewhere? No point in buying a headset if I can't get full functionality out of it?

That link didn't work but I put on my big boy pants and did a search (what I should of done in the first place, sorry) and I'm pretty sure I found what you were pointing to. Ridiculous that in order to have proper surround sound I loose my mic or I have to buy an external Sound Card, I guess I'm going the USB route. What a waste to do this to a gaming rig. tsk tsk

Hello guys, I have a problem. My headset mic isnt working when I plug it into the pink port. It works on everything else I have tried, ipad, iphone, my Envy 14 laptop. I also changed the settings in the real sound manager to independent port functioning. All I hear from the mic is static. If anyone could help will be grateful. I am using a GT 783. Cheers!

My gt780dxr's warranty runs out in 2 months and I am planning to send it in for a warranty claim because the screen has a bright (faded) line across the top.
My question is, does anyone have experience with this? Are there parts that I should/can have MSI replace besides that obvious one?
Aside of the occasional freeze up (doubt that's hardware related though) and that the battery doesn't last for more than 20 minutes (+the cord keeps falling out of the back plug sometimes)...oh yeah and the keys start to not register some of the time, also the speakers tend to rattle even at low volume. I understand that's not completely what an rma is for but if there is a way to get my workhorse a new pair of horseshoes, I'd say it's worth a shot! Any input is appreciated! :)

they MAY rectify the rattling and I would say they are required to fix the cord and monitor under RMA. You can't tell them to replace things though. You're power outlet on the back of the computer is probably damaged and your battery MAY be ok, but as far as I know battery and the power supply itself only have 1yr warranty. Send asap though, you don't want to be stuck with a messed up screen and improper power outlet.

Because the built in microphone connector is dead , one of the wire is supposed to stick on the connector but is disconnected so i have to take out the connector to avoid static or anything bad

So i was wondering whether i can use my headset with a mic on the Green and Pink inputs on the left side

As for the built in mic being bad, dude, that's a problem across the whole series of gt780 , its no big loss i use my usb webcam's mic 100% of the time. yeah the built in webcam is bad too.

The built-in mic to the left of the camera is shipped from the factory with the holes blocked by a stuck on plastic piece on the back side of the lcd bezel.

Once that is removed the built in mic is a lot better.

The newest Realtek HD Audio version is 2.71 build 6959.I'm using it and it works well.

Maybe I'll have better luck posting in here rather than making a new topic.

So I'm having an issue that just started recently with my GT780DX-406US. On resume from hibernate, my keyboard backlight will stay white. I'll try to toggle it with the touch panel, and i just goes through Off > On > Gaming, but all white. I'll open KLM, and it shows that my previously selected colors are still selected. I try to change colors to see if that does it, and it won't change no matter what even if I switch to a different LED mode.

When I reboot, it will sometimes get it to come back (but not all the time). I've tried exiting KLM, and then re-opening it and still no dice. I've tried uninstalling KLM, and reinstalling it as well (with and without reboots in between).
Tried looking through the Services list to see if there was something that got disabled.

It seems like it happened after I ran updates that updated .NET Framework, but I haven't really found a possible way to reinstall .NET 3.5 / 4.0 / 4.5 in Win8.

I'm currently running Windows 8 x64, all latest updates.

    KLM version 1.0.1112.1901

Anybody have an idea of what it could be?

Thanks in advance for the help, appreciate it.

Edit: I was able to get it back up and running again after uninstalling the keyboard through device manager and rebooting. Although, I'm not sure if it was just because of the reboot that got it working, or actually removing / reinstalling the keyboard driver.

I've also tried deleting the hibernation file in case that was corrupted (by using command prompt and running powercfg.exe /hibernate off), rebooting, and then re-enabling it.

carnagex: i too had .net problems this time around, it started after the .net update of july 12th, my desktop gadgets sometimes would disappear from screen for no reason. i'd close a window i was working with to see that they had disappeared. happened randomly.

Here's how i fixed a corrupted .net installation:

i used .NET Framework Cleanup Tool by Aaron Stebner
.NET Framework Cleanup Tool User's Guide - Aaron Stebner's WebLog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs.

idk if it works for windows 8 but it helped me remove .net 4.5 and 4.0 on win 7sp1 64bits

So after a reboot, i reinstalled 4.5 and of course windows update wanted to update it, i only let the previous updates before the ones of july to install. hiding the july ones and that fixed my problem.

i'll revisit the updates at some point or next month if M$ puts out some patches.

Thanks. Unfortunately with Win8, .NET Framework is just an option under the Windows Features that can be enabled or disabled. Running the installer just enabled .NET Framework 3.5 (even though I already had it enabled).

Unfortunately the .NET Cleanup Tool won't work on Win8. Do you know what KB number the .NET update was? Maybe I can look to see if it's installed on my system.

So it seems like I've been able to (sort of) keep it working consistently the past week or so when coming out of hibernation. Before I hibernate the computer, if I exit out of KLM, and then hibernate. Then when I resume, I re-open KLM and it seems like it's been working.

I also stopped using the stock KLM, and started using a "hacked" version that also has a few other functions (volume tracking, and a random flashing mode besides the standard mode). Seems like it's been working a bit better as well.

So, tl;dr: no fix found yet, but I found a partial workaround.

At one time I used to spend a lot of time looking for the cause of issues I encountered but now Install from a working image or do a complete clean install.

In the long run it saves time and aggravation.

I can't help with hibernation since I always turn it off to gain back 12GB of space on my SSDs.
