With slight overclocking, it should be really close to a GTX 460 768mb edition. 570m has a 575mhz core clock and 750mhz (3ghz data rate) on a 192bit mem bus. GTX 460 768mb has a 675mhz on a 900mhz (3.6ghz data rate) on a 192 bit mem bus.

I have these drivers with your modded inf file. Thanks for that by the way. Games run fine...but there are some subtle lines on most games. In particular, I saw them in Dungeon Seige 3 and the Witcher 2. I might go back to the stock drivers, because I didn't have that problem there. The lines aren't a huge annoyance, but definitely noticeable.

so i got my mi gt780dxr and it is awesome. performance wize this thing is nasty. looks wize this thing is nazty. keyboard and mouse pad :/ idk. the keyboard looks awesome, and the flex isn't a problem, it's just the keys and how they sometimes don't register, i mean, it feels like i have to hit the key pretty hard and i have to be almost dead smack in the middle for it to be 100% accurate and responsive and register. and the mouse pad seems pretty sucky, the material is sucky and the clickers are sucky and make a loud click when used. the responsiveness i get from sliding my finger on the pad is pretty sucky too, like it jumps all over sometimes for no reason and gets pretty annoying to deal with. but i use a mouse most of the time so it isn't a big deal to me

here's my question, if the keyboard and mouse pad are the only problems i have with this notebook for the reasons given, should i go through the trouble of trying to see if msi can fix these problems? or should i suck it up?

Okay, now I'm a little bummed. Just installed Rift and at ultra it's running at 5 frames per second. Is there something I'm missing on my new GT780-DXR???

ETA: Nevermind, the power cord leading into the power brick came unplugged, now it works great! :)

However, I am totally unable to run KLM, when I run it, it crashes, even with compatibility mode or running as administrator, anyone know why this is happening? I'd like to play with the lights on my keyboard!

Anybody know why XoticPC is telling me that MSI delayed the release of the GT780DXR-095US when people on this forum have clearly already gotten theirs?

That's really something only you can decide. If you really want to try and get it fixed through MSI, try different drivers before you go through all that trouble.

Maybe there was a long list of them backordered? Weird that they would say "MSI" has delayed them because I'm on a 095US model right now. I'm guessing it was because of my first assumption.

If you're using the version that came with the laptop, or the version on the drivers/utilities CD, then try the version on the first page of this thread. Some times older versions can be a bit finicky.

I ended up getting my 095US model off of ebay brand new for $1500. I took a chance and my notebook doesn't haven't any flaws whatsoever. They also were able to provide me with an original invoice, so I can still register it with MSI. I also got a Crucial M4 128gb ssd off of ebay for $190. I had free shipping on both products, and there isn't usually tax charged on ebay unless it's from an authorized dealer located in your state. So in the end, I got a GT780DXR-095US + Crucial M4 128gb ssd all for under $1700 shipped. If you're willing to take the risk of voiding any manufacturer warranties, then I suggest getting off of ebay. I'll probably grab a Bigfoot Killer 1102 off of ebay as well. I think I saw some going for around $45 shipped.

Yeah something like that. but the Roccat Kave have center speaker connector so you need to find something that has exact same inputs.

Make sure press P1 (Turbo) before using Afterburner, also you can try GPU: 730 and VRAM 1850.

Did you click KLM from the system tray or the shortcut from desktop?

    Thanks Ken,
yep I did forget to oc the vram :D , for core @725Mhz and memory clock @1850Mhz with the stock driver I get 13720, which is quite a good improvement from the stock result (11300)... even it's very far from the 14/15k that I have seen here. Do you guys use special (optimized) drivers for 3dMark testing?

I am very inpressed by the cooling system of the GT780DXR, the laptop didn't increased his temperature even with the high OC.

You can try check / reconnect the keyboard ribbon cable or if that doesn't help you probably need to request RMA from MSI.

The score 14K I got was tested with my own mod driver 280.26 not the stock driver, but I think there are newer driver already out you can check on laptopvideo2go.com.

Agree with you on cooling system especially the turbo fan works better than laptop cooler. :)

The scores you are getting are exactly what you should @ stock and @ the overclock. 14K-15K scores are fudged and are not stable or realistic currently with the available drivers. I can post an 16K score by tinkering with options but it will not be true and realistic or what you can expect from the notebook you recieve. We have some scores posted at the link below that are accurate and can be reproduced with the stock model, stock vbios, and current drivers.

Actually, these drivers were only showing subtle lines on my external monitor, but it was fine on the laptop monitor.

On another topic, for the use of an external monitor, would it make any difference in the video quality if I get a HDMI to DVI adapter? Right now I'm just using the VGA port and cable to connect to my external monitor.

Sorry do you have V-sync on? cause two years ago I had it off and went back to the repair shop to have it fixed for 3 days and later we realised it's due to V-sync being off. This can be adjusted in most games. <--- regarding the subtle lines

ENVY!!!! but I'm from overseas so might have to buy it from one of the re-sellers. I calculated and it'll cost $1900 USD minimum on stock configuration... So silly how MSI is from Taiwan and we get the most expensive price here lol

    Ladies and Gentleman,

My name is Henry, but call me Shadowness. I am from czech republic and i just paid and ordered a GT780DXR-099US with Core i7-2760, DVD combo drive, better Intel WiFi card, D-link router and the Recovery DVD for every case.

I am a tech enthusiast, so i usually do most of the stuff myself, even if i am a 17yo student. I am really into computers in general, phones, TVs, whatever is anyhow interesting.

I got few questions, anyway. First of all, how do you add a text into your signature here. Second - how did Strike put in the details+link in the signature ( would be cool to have it that way too, its practical ). Thirdly - is there anything i should know before getting this laptop ? That would mean - would you recommend me some drivers, software, anything that i might find useful ?

I am sure that soon enough i will become a "daily" and "usualy" part of this community, and i look forward to that moment. I waited very long time before registering and posting in here, since someone obviously used my nickname, as it is very attractive and unique and i can hardly blame anyone for doing this, but its still not polite to do so. I have this nickname since 2000, now i wish i would be more active so that the world would remember me as such :p

By the way i have nothing to do with that art site that uses my name. Tlked to them already, have no problem with it at all. They are into other things then i am, so i though i would let it be.

Anyway, thats me done for this post guys, and i hope to see you soon again.

    Sincerely,

    Shadowness

Nice benchmarks btw... especially the battery test.
3:20 web browsing, almost 3 hours playing a blu-ray (that's the one with the SSD)

Playing a blu-ray is fairly significant usage as it uses screen and sound to the fullest, gives the video card and processor something to do for the whole time (although not near capacity) and even activates the wireless or network if available as most blu-ray phone home for "additional content".
It represents one of the worst-case battery drains in a realistic environment.
(one of the highest drain things you would actually use battery for)

    One thing...
Odd you should say 14k scores fudged when yours are 13940 with an overclock most should be able to attain.
All it takes to get 14k+ would be a slightly higher OC.

I'll check that in my games. I figured out that I can reduce the lines by adjusting the gamma, and it's only on my external monitor. The notebook screen shows games just fine. I'm actually pretty impressed with these drivers. Thanks for the driver link!

I got one question, though. I would like to make a custom skin for my laptop in Photoshop, one never knows, and i like creativity and design...

Could any of you tell me the width an height of the back side of the laptop ? And if someone knows closer, which specs should i choose ? I though 150 DPI would be enough. The picture is kinda large ( in Ptohoshop - Smth around 2000 px w/h ), so i would need some advice.

I think what we have seen of benchmarks thus far, can only be viewed as an 'idea' of the GTX 570M's capability.

I understand Rob's point, and my scores were very similar, but there really isn't anything wrong with 'tinkering' (optimizing)..... so long as the benchmark testing is within the guidelines established by 3DMark. After all, the objective of 'PAID' 3DMark users is to achieve the highest scores possible..... for 3DMark submission and bragging rights.

Personally for me, none of the benchmarks we've seen carry much weight, because none are valid for 3DMark submission...... or they do not meet 3DMark's requirements. This will not occur until we see approved drivers for our new GTX 570M.

Approved Drivers for Use with 3DMark Video Card Benchmark Tests

At present, there are no valid 3DMark GTX 570M submissions, ergo all benchmarking heretofore is somewhat a moot point. Search HERE!

This is why I am patiently awaiting the 570M's addition to nVidia's Verde driver package...... which I anticipate in the next official final release. And what of 'modded' drivers you say? Well, they have to be approved by 3DMark too.

Instead of just benchmark screenshots, we need to see more official links of actual 3DMark submissions..... and the 570M standing in that roster. Otherwise, there are no controls or benchmark standards..... and 'fudging' is sure to be rampant.

    :)

Well, lets be honest about any of the 3dmark series...

ANY results of ANY TEST are invalid without the settings the test is done at.

The whole point of people using the free version at defaults is that they are done at defaults... this is the basics of how to create a comparison.

Honestly, the free results are more telling than the non-default paid versions.

Also, I don't really think 3dmark's "approval" on a driver makes any real difference as to how reliable anyone thinks the results are...

On the other hand, you are correct about full supported drivers from Nvidia affecting scores. They almost always go up once nvidia officially recoginizes the new model.

I7 840Qm is not compatible with GTX 780. You will need the new Sandy Bridge 2XXX QM series processors like 2630QM, 2720QM, 2820 QM or 2920XM. You can also go for newer 2760QM or 2860Qm or 2960XM processors.
These 840Qm are last gen I7 processors which are not compatible with the chipsets in GTX 780R.

    Cheers
