I think what you need is F.Lux.

F.lux: software to make your life better

    This should solve your problems.

i got early access code for beta, but my home phone line/DSL stopped working since last Friday. The technician came in today, but after an hour repairing he gave up, he said my phone line has been disconnected or cut off somewhere in my area.

Put the transfer in today, so in 2-3 days the lappy is paid then it's shipping time. I'm really really really excited now to test this beast out... It got cheaper than i had thought aswell due to lower shipping cost than i had planned.

Going to be a pain to reinstall stuff, but still awesome with a new laptop.

Seriously ? How am i promoting the reseller if i just write who sold me the unit. I though that it should help instead. So basically my nice colored retailer name is forbidden ? What is this i dont even....Well, there is probably some reason behind this....hopefully....nevermind....

Why dont you look on OCN and see what people report, and compare their results to the GPU in this laptop :)

Some got Early acess and are able to play since 12:00 yesterday.

I wouldnt say horrible, but yes, for anyone doing anything "outside of" web browsing, its better to use mouse. Pro gaming gear ftw :)

Change it back if you like. I inquired for interpretation on this, and according to the moderator, it is only the reseller 'links' that are an infraction.

    Hey there,

I should get my unit at the end of this week, or the beginning of the other one.

I got HTC Evo 3D so if you want, i can do some pictures, maybe some video. I will be buying some camera since in around 8 days we are going to Italy with school if we get enough money, so i need to buy some higher quality stuff ( Lets be serious, Phone cool, camera three times better :/ But i got HD 3D Vids so there my Camera will be lacking some stuff, *yikes* :p )

The Laptop was delivered to MSi repair depot on Friday morning Sept. 23rd. I am hoping for a fast turn-around for the replacement BluRay drive.

Repairs completed 9/27, repair depot email:
    Dear valued customer,
Item(s) for RMA is/are now in shipping process. Please check below for your tracking number.
    Carrier: UPS FEDEX

Not bad, sort'a odd they listed both carriers. I'll have to check the tracking number to see who they used.
Who ever it is, I hope they don't get too rough with it.

I was planning on making my order after the weekend. Why has the price of the 780 gone up about $150 from the resellers ?

    This worked, thanks!

I do however, have one last issue I have been unable to resolve. Whenever my computer goes to sleep and I log back on, my mouse sensitivity has either become too high or too low, so that I am constantly adjusting mouse sensitivity when I wake my laptop up. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any fixes out there?

Which model were you looking to buy? Some resellers dropped pricing when they should not have. The current and msi pricing on the GT780DX-215US is $1549.00.

Both XOTIC PC and GenTec dropped the price of the MSI-215 down to 1,339.00 for a few hours yesterday but now the price is back up to $1500+. I thought they were having a price war or something

I did hear of a rumored upcoming price change in GT780 models...... but I think you will find the resellers remain pretty consistent in their pricing, since MSI establishes the price guidelines.

Strange you had to reactivate Windows. I did not run into this issue, but I did have to add the '/X' switch to the flash command line.

i'm confused... which is a better SSD upgrade M4 or intel 510?

    intel 256gb for 400$
    m4 128 for 250$

i read different reviews so i don't know what to choose ...most important is speed + bettery usage

Honestly, you can't really go wrong with either. I chose the 128gb M4 because I got was able to find one for $190 shipped. If you can really get a 250gb 510 for $400, I would say that's a steal considering what they usually go for.

I don't know of any companies that make them, but I remember seeing something about a custom skin company some where in this thread. But unless you're planning on carrying you're notebook around a lot, you really don't need one. There's some slight flex on the top shell, but that's to be expected. The flex is only on the shell and there's a few mm space between the shell and actual LCD assembly. So, it would have to have a decent amount of pressure on it in order to make it press against the keyboard.

    Hi Ken:
I've just been reviewing the posts and I found your stock benchmarks when the GTX570m first came out which reaches 12536 marks on 3Dmark vantage. "'release driver' (ForceWare 268.90), and will improve significantly when NVIDIA includes the new GPU into future Verde program updates." - Striker

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/att...msi-gt780r-gt780dxr-owners-lounge-vantage.jpg

however I've been checking the performance of the GTX570m and all other posts have similar score of the RKC results at 10655

    MSI GT780DX(R)-215US G Series Notebook Benchmarks-With 750GB HDD And 16GB Memory

And this score is similar to GTX560m with slight OC at 9668

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi/584869-official-msi-gt780r-gt780dxr-owners-lounge-189.html

I was wondering how you obtained that high score and whether they toned down the stock performance after releasing it. And if you test the newest batch of GT780DX will they still still be able to reach 12536? Cause I always thought 570m is at least 20% more powerful than 560m, but now I'm a little uncertain XP

Ken, I was wondering the same thing. Your over clock scores were much higher than anyone else can get too.

PhysX is off by default in 3DVantage, so it couldn’t have been on because you forgot to turn it off…you must have intentionally turned it on. But was that enough to make this much of a difference?

yeah but m4 is also reliable ... or that's what i heard

actually i was considering that as my first choice but the i read reviews (lots of them) having problems in amazon, newegg...etc

i'm not sure what the update will do, could you explain whats the difference after the update

today i almost bought the intel but really the reviews are showing that it's not as fast as the others...not even the 2nd gen of intel, so i decided to wait and ask(i'm really a nob about this thing that's why i tried to read alot of reviews)

PhysX is on by default in 3DVantage.

12536 score was because forgot to disable Physx in Vantage, here is the score of 560M and 570M Physx disabled:

Geez, we are revisiting an old topic here, and this was covered more than necessary. After I pointed out Ken's intial benchmark was err'ed with PhySX, he acknowledged posting THIS!

My own 570M benchmarks scores were very consistent with RK Rob's findings.

    :)
