    ah kk that's cool XP

Hmm~ did you check the link I posted a few posts back? The cheapest price I can find in Australia online shop is only $15 AUD more expensive than Beacon... that's like not very much! At around $113 I think it was

Yes, two compartments on each side. As i said i might take some pictures later when i have more time to set it up.

EDIT : Just to add something to the messenger bag discussion...It is true that i feel like carrying only the Belkin messenger bag because i look so cool and mature with it. Having the ASUS ROG bag at the same time, on my back, doesnt feel that good, but its more or less my own mind set rather then something really not stylish. I bought those two because they are both Red/Black so it really looks nice. The Asus ROG has a lot of space, although i am yet to put the books in it, maybe Ph. Ed. stuff and fit it all together.

The belking messenger bag has also a lot of space, well, a lot of compartments...but just put there this beast, the cables, later maybe eternal desktop GPU, external disks, maybe even the router...and you are done, lol.

My two cents. Ask if needed :p

whats the difference between svets vBIOS tool and MSI afterburner, other than with svet's tool its permanent?

do you get more stability from svet's tool? or better fps?

Thanks for the sentiments guys, and I appreciate this, but it's really no big deal here. My statement of " Sorry this thread was not more helpful..... ", was simply a direct response to lonelywolf90's inquiry of a FAQ thread, and his desire to " actually find out more details about the GT780!"...... nothing more, nothing less.

As such, I find myself apologizing again...... Sorry for any misunderstanding. I should have made myself more clear.

    :)

Thanks Ken, but it's really is not necessary. Those who are apprehensive, or do not recognize the value in Svet's tool, I would not recommend they use it to begin with. It's probably better they stay within the parameters of the tools MSI has provided..... ya know? ;)

With svets VBIOS tool, no need to have afterburner running in background. It's "permanent". Should be usefull once you know witch frequencies you want to always use une turbo mode

Lol~ that was a very tedious way, but glad you found out what was causing it!!! I also remember last time I used itunes my laptop slowed down heaps, although the fan didn't get really loud so I never used it again. I suggest this music program called 'foobar 2000' which is a free and small program that a lot of professional music stores use since it provides a much better sound! It also runs much faster than media player, however it is solely for music and you can't play videos on it.

Is it normal that with increasing temperature the in-game fps drops ? I got to 90°C somehow during playing Warhammer 40K Retribution - Last Stand....And i noticed that at the beginning i was at nice 70-75 fps and in the end, around the max i was at 15 FPS...Also, given the fact that i had the fan boost on, and have the thermal paste kinda worries me.

Also, P1 seems to have no effects what so ever. I tried using the OC profile in Afterburner with no effect. It didnt yield a single extra FPS. Also the P1 increases the temperature by quite a lot and without any gain, i will keep it off. Same for Afterburner which doesnt work.

If i am doing anything wrong, please correct me. Also, tell me please how to use the P1 with Afterburner properly. Thirdly, why the temps are causing lower FPS, and why the temperature sometimes stays at 60 while playing ( Black ops, 91 FPS ) and sometimes rises by a significant amount - up until 90 ( Warhammer 40K Retribution - Last Stand, 15 FPS ). Least but not last - which cooler would you recommend for this laptop. I am buying "Belkin Notebook CushTop Case Steel with Burnt Orange" Under my laptop, and i would like to get a cooler which would lie on the Belkin Pad. Thanks for info. Highly appreciated.

    Ya, I did =)
I thought it is normal for Dell to charge more? It is expected..
I bet the real price won't be that costly, better to buy from a shop dealer instead..

Hopefully this Sunday I will get to see the Titan and try it out before buying it XD

Haha, no hard feelings k? I don't mean to make you feel that I've belittled your thread in any way, your thread is awesome and active, look how ongoing it is that it reached the 382nd page already 0_o

Definitely, an improvement to the thread to organise the information would do you a lot of favor instead of redundantly having new members asking the questions that have been asked before, don't you think?

It is my fault to make you feel that way, so don't feel sorry ;)

Courtesy of hainns, I attached his ICM profile to improve the image quality of the original matte display of GT780R/GT780DXR (Chi Mei N173HGE-L11/21).

How to use ICM profile on Windows 7:
    • Go to Control Panel -> Color Management -> Add
    • Click on the color profile, and select "Set as Default Profile"
    • Still on Color Management, switch to "Advanced" tab
    • Click "Change System Defaults...", and it will open a new color management window
    • In the new window, switch to "Advanced" tab, check "Use Windows display calibration", and then close the window
    • Back to the first window of Color Management, select "Calibrate Display" on the advanced tab

As I await my AUO glossy panel, out of boredom, I played a bit with Nvidia Color Settings on the original matte display of GT780R/GT780DXR (Chi Mei N173HGE-L11/21).

    Note:
This is done mainly to lower LED brightness on my man cave (my dark bedroom) :D
It may not improve color accuracy, as the main priority is to lower brightness and reduce blue stints on the matte screen.

First, you must remove all color profiles on Control Panel -> Color Management
Open Nvidia Control Panel -> Adjust desktop color settings -> 2. Choose how color is set: Use Nvidia Settings

All Channels: Brightness 40%, Contrast 50%, Gamma: 0.88
Blue Color Channel: Brightness 30%, Contrast 40%, Gamma: 0.80

Thank you all for your kind reviews.

Search YouTube for "Deck the Halls with Blood".

I've been thinking about that. If it happens, I have another co-worker we will use for voice.

Yes, as Palladin said, I put the CD/DVD RW into an external housing as I don't use it much. (I use Steam for my games.) The 500GB has my work IT approved OS/Apps and all work related data.

Really well done it's a credit to you, and perhaps MSI should consider hiring you to create their next unveiling. :D

Not being a gamer I am interested to know what the other components were that you were using, one was obviously some brand of mouse, but what was to the left of the MSI?

    Cheers,

I use the Thermaltake Massive23, I like the raised feel, for me it makes using a notebook more comfortable and it fits perfectly. Although I do not use the fan. It is silent if you do use it. But in the end, if you are looking for better cooling only, any cooler is only going to give you a slight improvement. The cooling design doesn't really need it.

You need to boot from the Windows DVD. At Windows setup make sure choose custom setup and delete the OS partition.

This usually happens when after installing Windows 7, you forgot to take out the installation DVD-ROM/Flash Drive or haven't changed the boot order in BIOS.

Try changing the boot order in BIOS to HDD first, and place others below it.

    1. Here are some general tips to lower notebook temperature:
    • Take the battery out of your notebook
    • Get a good notebook stand as a surface to spread heat evenly and to improve airflow
    • Blow dust off your notebook innards with compressed air spray, don't forget to spray the fan ventilations
    • Use air conditioner to lower the room temperature

    2. Basically P1 Turbo Mode needs to be ON in order to activate overclocking in MSI Afterburner.

    3. GTX570M has a hardwired safety measure to prevent overheating, usually it comes in the form of lower clock speed to cool off the GPU, when pushed further it will auto shutdown to protect itself against heat damage.

Did you check the CPU clock speed when getting low FPS?
Who knows Sandybridge processors might be actually the real problem with their infamous CPU throttling issues, if that is the case, then use ThrottleStop with BDPROCHOT unchecked.

When It restarts during installation, DON'T BOOT FROM THE CD.

A good method to follow is to not touch the pc when installing, just leave it install.

I have done what you are asking for. I upgraded to 2860 QM. It's significantly faster then 2630 QM. I switched to SSD as my primary OS drive. Although it is 240 GB but I keep only OS on it. Although I like the speed I am still skeptical about the life of Flash ROM.
    Try it out.

Wow, Striker should add this to the first page info. Very helpful indeed.
    Step one, done.
Step two - will finish by buying Belkin Cush Top for my laptop.
Step three - Dont know how to do it. Use any Spray ? How to Spray it ?
Step four - Air conditioner = cooling pad ? If so then i am buying Coolermaster CF-19 As stated above. That should cool the laptop well on top of the belking Cush Top.

Is is correct? ? Anything else ?

PS : Where do i find the ThrottleStop with BDPROCHOT ?

you don't need to change anything in the BIOS but you need to delete the OS partition.

And like xMAR99 said once it starts to installing OS don't touch or boot from the DVD, the installation will restart your system by itself several times to complete the installation.
