I don't touch anything while it does that but it says windows setup couldnt install it on the system hardware does this have to do with raid 0

I really need more help with this because I don't understand why it won't install windows

 

There are thousands of little things that could be going wrong, you need to either provide a picture or a very accurate description of the error message and where about it gives it.

 

ok here is what exactly happens...
comp starts up
goes to boot from CD screen. i click boot.
windows install comes up
there are 4 parts: boot, system, the part that had OS, and DATA
i click on delete the old OS part then click new and then click next to install windows on the new part.
it goes to the installing windows screen. it restarts then goes to the last check "completing installation"
then after a few mins it says "windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware" then restarts.
could this have to do with RAID 0

im not sure what to do because i have never had this much of a problem installing windows on a computer before... ever..


Now Its giving me a message from intel with an error "PXE-E61: Media test failure, Check cable."
What the hell is going on with this computer... I haven't done anything but try and install windows haven't touched the BIOs or anything...

 

that message may suggest one of your harddrives is defective. have you tried running a harddrive test?

 

Make sure your CD is in first boot order and the hard drives second. You'll have to go into BIOS to configure that. It might help with the error.

Not so thrilled about that transformers mouse though

 

I now have a problem with my 3.0 USB Drives.
They won't detect my External HD when I plug it in, but when they do, it connects for a little while, then disconnects.
The External HD works in my 2.0 USB Drives though.
Any solutions?

 

Make sure the USB 3.0 Host Controller is installed and running.
You can get it from the MSI Drivers section

 

Do people still remember how several pages back we were informed that the CPU cannot be Overclocked and RAM can't run over 1333 because MSI didn't write the bios for it? (Writing this from memory, if there's any, please point out mistakes!)

Well, someone on the other forum said to use XTU for CPU and Kingstone pnp series to get to 1866. But out of memory (My head's memory, not RAM XP) there is no mobile CPU support for XTU right? And also has anyone tried the kingstone pnp series and will it run at 1866?

It was ASUS, not MSI, that won't write their BIOS on the ASUS G74SX series to support memory speed above DDR3/1333.

Kingston HyperX DDR3/1866 runs just fine at full speed in MSI models, but the Intel HM67 & HM65 chipsets will only support up to 12GB and still run with stability. Over 12GB of DDR3/1866 will overload the memory controller and cause problems in daily use. This is not true of DDR3/1333 or DDR3/1600, they run just fine at 16GB and above.

Kingston HyperX memory that purports to support Intel XMP will ALWAYS run at DDR3/1333 unless there is the ability in the laptop's BIOS to change the memory profile. Neither ASUS, MSI (and therefore PowerPro) or Sager have this capability in their BIOS. So, when you install the Kingston memory with the part number that ends with an X, it will only run at DDR3/1333.

 

Any chance someone could do a short video showing the matte screen?
I'd like to see how it looks

Most of the videos on youtube are mainly unboxing, games or the keyboard, nothing major on the screen.

Did you read post #3535 in this thread for Raid setup?

Raid setup after the bios is set to raid is accessed during bootup by pressing the Ctrl + I keys.

Check you boot order in the bios.Your drives should be at the top and the Lan last.This could cause your PXE error?

 

Actually, colors are better with the Matte screen. I got Acer GD245HQ and its a 3D Matte LCD. The games and colors looks better ( film, videos too ) then any glossy screen out there. Colors are "truer". The only problem with matte screen is that when you play games like Metro 2033 with 3D Vision on, then it was super dark. It added to the atmosphere on the other hand, so ...

Although 3D Vision doesnt have to worry you since this laptop isnt 3D ( and personally its better that way ).

FYI, Nvidia should release second revision of the 3D Glasses which might lower the darkening of the screen

Anybody try connecting their gt780 to an external monitor or large screen tv for gaming yet? I am getting low framerate problems when doing so, wonder if perhaps this will be fixed when a 570m driver is released.

And what age is that? I'm 51. I started PC gaming in 2005 and quickly learned the benefits of a programmable gamepad for my left hand. I can put my hand/wrist in a better (less strenuous) position - no tunnel carpel for me if I can help it. (I could play less, but what fun would that be? LOL )

I know more than one mechanical engineer who use left-handed "tools" like my gamepad.

We are human. We are never too old to learn new tricks.

It was totally about the visual wow factor. Same functions of other mice, but visually stunning. I mostly use the Cyborg at work. I do like the ability to adjust everything to fit my hand. My true gaming mouse is the Logitech MX518. But, it is really beat up and ugly looking. I had to bring my best for the video. (Actually, in the scenes where I'm playing, I am using the MX518. I forgot to bring the wireless receiver for the Cyborg. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.)

update: when i downloaded the one in Nvidia site , version 280.26 - WHQL, i got an error message says" the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

 

We are all still waiting for Nvidia to release a driver compatible with the 570m. I am pretty sure that has not happened yet.

 

I see this problem before, it was the Windows disk, you need to have the Windows disk with service pack 1:

you are right it's about RAID settings, without RIAD-0 you don't need Windows with SP1 to do clean install.

For the PXE-E61 message it's the BIOS trying to detect boot from ethernet controller, you can simply disable boot from Realtec ethernet controller in the BIOS.

 

the Asus G74SX doesn't support more than two slots of 1866RAM, if more than two stick of 1866 RAM is installed the speed will down clock to 1333:

For MSI, it will show 1866Mhz with 16GB but system will BSOD if it's more than 2 sticks of RAM installed. also according to Intel the chipset doesn't really support more than 2 sticks of 1866.

 

Intel says a lot of things that are not true...like the Intel® i7-2630QM won't support more than 8GB. You simply cannot rely on what they publish, and have to do your own testing.

We find that the MSI will and does support up to 12GB DDR3/1866, but no more than that.

Well the unlocked bios has memory divider control, but yes kingston memory (their hyper-X as well) works just fine up to 1866mhz.

Sure. ROCCAT is an opposite to Razer. Everyone knows razer. After their Fail Laptop even more people know about them. Bad advertisement is still an advertisement. Razer Products are overpriced and mostly cost so much due to the shady manufacturing similar to Apple and HTC or Samsung for example. You can buy iPhone 4G 32Gb for around 1250$ in our country but you can also buy HTC EVO 3D/Sensation or Galaxy SII for around 800$...I got Evo 3D Myself.

ROCCAT on the other hand is always fair. They have great customer support. Their products are fairly priced, and their price DO drop after some time. They also expand and try to always bring more features with new hardware releases.

Isku for example is a very good example of that. You can look at Valo and then look at Isku and see the difference. I am especially glad that they added the Talk feature so i can fully use my Kone+.

All in all Roccat is my favorite. And i will always buy their products. Their secret case is also something to explore See more at Roccat.org

I'm about 6yrs older than yourself. I have never actually got into gaming for whatever reason, probably not enough time to myself if I was honest.

But after having said that I still have a very strong desire to own one of these GT780DXR's it's just a matter of timing for me at the moment as I'm away from home so much in remote area locations without power.

Speaking of never being too old to learn I have just spent 2 yrs in full-time study gaining a diploma in geoscience. I never thought I was going to finish it considering how long ago I last went to school and plus also competing with all those 20 something yr olds who never seemed to have to study or take notes or hand up assignments until 5 minutes before they were due. But oddly enough there were 45 or so starters at the beginning of the course but only 9 of us left 2 yrs later.

I wonder why I had never heard of ROCCAT, so I headed over to
ROCCAT STUDIOS V3.0 . No US distributors. Ahh, now I know why! (though they do have a few of their products up on amazon.com and newegg.com)

 

Same here, NVidia actually told me about it yesterday via email on my old support ticket. I wonder if there will be a performance boost, I'm eager to to try it out.

They seem about 10% better than the first battlefield beta driver (which I had to use a hacked .inf to slam on to my laptop).

Note that I used 725 core clock and 1750 memory clock set via nVidia Inspector. Turbo fan mode on.

 

It is nice to hear that these drivers work on the 570m. Notably, the 570m is not listed as being supported by these drivers, however. I am not sure what that means to the user.

No need to apologize. I would happily invest those 300 into the better machine. As far as i am concerned the GTX560 is available in those orange lighting laptop, right ? If so that would be the first reason to NOT get the laptop. Looks to weird, drains more battery power one would assume.

With GTX570M you should be able to play even on high/ultra when OCed and with decent cooling pad....Because what was in the Beta was, on one hand unoptimized game, not final and the final game will put much more stress on your card. I would go for it, mate.

 

ok i diabled the Realtec controller
but when i put in the WIN7 w/ SP1 and when i click on install it take me to the load driver page and says "a required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now" i try and eject the CD drive and it wont open it up what should i do now?

Hmm but apparently he's 'hoovering over the buy button for the gt780r' so yea I think I'd go for the $300 cheaper one if it was me, $300 is like 1/5 of the price? GTX560m is alright itself, not that weak.

683 (the orange lighting) is made for people who want lighter laptops with the same specs as 780, although the cooling is slightly weaker than 780. the Orange LED does draw power but not enough to make a difference I guess, maybe as much as the lighting on the MSI logo on the back of 780's screen? I never get why they want parts of the back of the screen to light up (Like HP pavilion), maybe for advertisement =.=

 

While I'm pretty sure the GTX560M will handle BF3 on medium, I'd go with the GTX570M for the long haul. The power performance boost is not massive, but I think it's substantial enough to warrant a few extra bills. But if you can't really afford it, then the GTX560M shouldn't disappoint.

 

Anyone seeing performance increases with the new drivers? If not, I might as well wait for the official one.

 

Its a verde driver :|. its as official as a nvidia driver can be.

 

Let me restate, official gtx 570m driver. From what I've read, 570m won't be included in any official drivers for another couple months. Yes, I know I can use a modded inf file, but you should know what I mean considering how OCD you are .
