Yea I can in a bit. I downloaded that ISO file and burned using powerISO. I placed the disk into the comp. i booted the cd and windows started loading it brings me to the install button I click it and it starts to load then it takes me instantly to the driver install window. It then won't let me do anything else I can't even open the cd bay... I'm not sure why it's been this tough to re-install the OS
Is there anything else I can try because I called up MSI and that guy was absolutely no help at all

Edit: I finally got it to work!!

As I said in my earlier post. This driver is 100% official, non-hacked, no modified .inf. Download from nvidia.com, click next next finish, done.

Disregard ANYTHING anyone says about it not being official or the card not being support. They're all wrong. It works first try, no modified .inf required.

from Nvidia. GTX570M should be added at the end of the next month. Those drivers works, and i can use brightness and other settings, although things like gamma and contrast in the Driver menu does not work still.

Performance boost, yes. Definitely. Before i had the drivers i got 45-50 FPS in Black Ops Zombie mode. And i was running at 75+/- temps.

With the drivers i get constant 60 FPS in Zombie mode and i am at 65+/- temps.

I will test those drivers with Dirt 3 / Heroes VI Collectors / Deluxe Digital Edition / Black Ops MP / Warhammer : Retribution and maybe Warhammer : Space Marine during the next few days. So far so good.

Now i am waiting for a cooling pad so i can use P1 button and overclock the sh** out of this card finally...With offiial drivers boosting performance, this will become one of the TOP gaming machines ! I guarantee that ( already is one of the best for me :p )

PS : If Nvidia really release 600 series Mobile GPUs as it was stated somewhere ( GTX 620/640M i think ) at the end of the year, Then even if we are going to see newer GPUs and better GPUs - and i for one know that for the enthusiast E-peen its harmful when such hardware is released and first guys own it and make claims how awesome it is - I just use eGPU or Thunderbolt and - plug in some GTX680...This is also for anyone who is thinking about saving some bucks. GTX560M is good enough. Heck this method was tested with much lower end GPUs...So if you wanna save, do it. E.g. those 300$ would be around ~70% price of the new GTX680. Definitely worth it if you know you are not going to have that much money next year :)

Is a cooling pad really that necessary guys?

Just wondering, as I'll probably be having my laptop next to a window with cold air blowing in and the fan on turbo if I'm going to overclock it at all.

Also, does the GTX570m run games well enough without turning on turbo and using afterburner etc?

The fans on the GT780 are powerfull enough to keep a reasonable temperature even if you oc the 570m.
However if your are planning to use the laptop on your lap you will need a cooler if you don't want to have roasted nuts.

You shouldn't need a cooling pad with the unit as it has had reasonable temperatures. It isn't necessary to OC the 570m as it does have great performance to begin with, but some additional power never hurts! If you are using it on your lap, you wouldn't necessarily need a cooler, but something like a lapdesk would be beneficial to prevent any unwanted heat on your legs. :)

According to the nVidia website and the 285.62 release notes, the GTX 570M is not yet officially supported in the Verde program (or this driver package). Soooooo, this leaves me curious...... for those who claim this driver works (without a modded .inf), did you update to this driver AFTER using a modded driver?

Like xault says, I'll wait for the 570M's official addition to the Verde package. The release driver MSI provided is fine for now, and when the 570M is officially supported, it's sure to be a pleasant improvement. SOON!

Come on now..... the GT780 doesn't get THAT hot, LOL! Too Funny..... nice Wildcat11!

    :D :D :D

Yeah, like Brett said, a lapdesk will suffice, and would be a good idea to insure good air flow and no blocked vents.

Prior to updating yesterday to these, I took a peek through the inf files in the driver package. nVidia put the 570m in there. It's in the "NVMI.inf" file. :)

No, a cooling pad is not necessary. All things considered, MSI did an excellent job with this notebook's cooling. I have used this notebook on my lap with no discomfort whatsoever, and I have used several lessor notebooks which run MUCH hotter.

Yes, the GTX 570M will game nicely without the Turbo (TDE) feature, or running OC programs like AfterBurner. These are for folks looking to test, or squeeze every ounce of performance from the hardware..... but not necessary.

    You'll like it!

Graphics Driver - Verde 285.62 Driver - GeForce

Here is the list of supported laptop video cards from the link above:
    GeForce 500M Series (Notebooks)
GeForce GTX 580M, GeForce GTX 560M, GeForce GT 555M, GeForce GT 550M, GeForce GT 540M, GeForce GT 525M, GeForce GT 520M, GeForce GT 520MX

No 570M there. The 570M is not officially supported, which is not to say it will not work. Clearly posters on this board have reported the driver WILL work even though Nvidia says it is not supported.

I am still unclear about what it means when a card is not supported but works anyway. Anyone know why Nvidia would say that?

It's really no biggie, Mr. biggles78.

The GTX 570M is just a new card, and the GT780 was the first notebook to recieve it. The partnering OEM (MSI) built the card to the design reference spec of nVidia, and released it with a first-release driver in a rush to market. This is not uncommon when new cards come out, and nVidia will soon incorporate the MSI HW ID to it's Verde driver program.

    :)

I have an ASUS laptop, 5 years old with synaptics touchpad. It also has the double finger scrolling but is sooo glitchy. 4 out of 5 times it won't work. maybe try doing it a lot more times? XP

Nice to hear about the performance increase! However can you explain a bit more on the eGPU and thunderbolt? I thought your intention was to use thunderbolt for the eGPU but in your comment you said "I just use eGPU or Thunderbolt" Does that mean if you have thunderbolt you don't need eGPU?

Also I thought Thunderbolt has a unique jack, and the 780 does not include it. So you're saying you'll buy a new laptop next year which does have the thunderbolt jack?

I installed from the stock drivers without any prior modded files. Just ran the nvidia exe and worked like a charm. There is a noticable performance increase although the nvidia site does not state that the 570m is officially supported. I have no issues so far, still waiting on bf3 to finish downloading to really put it to the test :)

I wonder if there is any significant performance increase?????? Mine went down versus modded inf based 285.27 version. I am wondering if I should try modding the inf for this .62 version. Mine Furmark scores went down with new drivers as well my Windows 7 Ultimate performance scores.
Did you try any benchmarking like furmark before and after driver installation? By the way can you tell me which driver version were you using earlier?

    Thanks in advance
    Cheers

Im new to the forum and I have wondering a lot about how the MSI GT780DXR runs recent games? What FPS does it get in Black Ops on max? Would like to see the performance in BF3 aswell?

I was using the pre-installed drivers that came with the notebook. As for the benchmarks, I didn't save my previous results from 3d mark using the stock drivers. Give me 15 mins and i will post results with these drivers and moderate oc'ing.

I got a 12978 with 700 core 1400 shader and 1500 memory. Turbo cooling was on and gpu max temp was 67c . I used the free version of 3d mark, I dunno if physx is on or off on free version. Not a crazy high score but better than stock driver. I have all the stock options with my 780dxr.

by the way, I'm new to all this so I don't know if that's a good score or not lol

Just got p3353 on 3dmark 11 same settings.

While it's not listed when you search via the card name, it does indeed install vanilla. And I have seen a bit of performance boost, Witcher 2 and FFXVI seems to get a boost (almost 10 frames in Witcher with OC) but I have no actual data to support this. I just played a few games with FRAPS on. Space Marine ran without any frame dips (sometimes it would dip from 60 to 30ish for no reason for a second or two) without OC. The visual corruption I'd sometimes get from the modded drivers is gone as well. I may run some tests, but others have seen some improvement and I'm lazy, so probably not.

Nvidia 285.62 simply broke Adjust desktop color settings in Nvidia Control Panel. (it's written on the release notes)

Much to my dismay, 285.62 still has not fixed "display driver stopped responding" problem which may happen when using Windows Aero. It's a newly introduced stability issue in 280-series drivers.

At least for now, GTX 570M owners are forced to use 285-series drivers to play Battlefield 3, unless you could get a modded GTX-570M-friendly 275.33 driver.

...Folks like me, lolz  The CoolerMaster CF-19 is not only a nice cooling pad, it also got LEDs :)p) and 4 USB 2.0 ( or 3.0 :p). Having it on the Belkin Cush Top case will make it even more enjoyable experience. The Overclocking is especially useful when the GPU is running around 75 temps.

i can confirm it. Playing Warhammer : Retribution Last Stand mode, i can confirm that when the laptop GPU had 75ish temps, the FPS was around 30-35. Using the overclocking profile of 716/1432/1815 the FPS went highly upwards. Almost hitting 60 again. But the Temperture went up, too. Thats why the cooling pad is necessary, at least for me.

As promised, i am going to test the games i listed few pages back, and report back. Lets see how it goes.

It's just an error in the release notes on the website. The non-modified .inf from the driver download lists the device ID for the 570m in it. If you're scared, download the driver, let it extract, and look at the .inf yourself before you install.

Just because they forgot to put it in the release notes on the website doesn't mean it's not official. Clearly they intended to put it in because they expressly added it to the .inf.

I've played 10 hours of BF3 and a dozen or so hours of League of Legends on the driver. No crashes, no errors, even heavily overclocked.

While I don't have either game, notebookcheck lists the GTX570M performance as 68.6FPS average on Ultra for Black Ops. This seems correct as Black Ops is not very hardware intensive. As for BF3, I ran the beta on Ultra around 30+FPS (30-50), however the final version should be harder to run, so I have no idea.

Can somebody post a download link to this VBIOS Tuner 0.75s???
My MSI N580GTX-M2D15D5/OC is not stable at default voltages.
Returned my card and got a new one with the same problem. (And yes I'm sure it is a new card, checked PCB serial number)

Now running with MSI afterburner enabled forcing the voltage to 1.063V to get a 24h stable card.

    How I got to 1.063V???

    No problem.....

This tool will allow you to completely and simply modify your GTX 570M VBIOS. My advise is you not mess with this, until educated and comfortable doing so. Read Svet's thread, watch the video, study on VBios modding, and then decide if this is something you would like to explore.

Congratz on your new GT780DXR, and Welcome to the Party!

This will vary from card to card. Start with some of the lower numbers posted, and slowly work upward to a sweet spot for your particular card. If you notice any abnormality, lack of stability, system slowdown, or uncomfortable temps..... then back it off. Find YOUR sweet spot!

    :)

Understood. Svet's tool is for die-hard OC'ers wanting to test the limits of their GPU's, and is certainly not necessary to enjoy your notebook. Considering you risk warranty, hardware failure, and system longevity, it is NOT for everyone! MSI only supports the limited OC of it's TDE feature, not AfterBurner. Even with AfterBurner, you can exceed your cards limits..... so go slow and take care.

    :)

Ummmm...... I think you are reading into my statement. Do you just enjoy an argument? I simply said what the tool was 'for'..... I didn't say it was used by 'most'. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother.....

You do it for the average person who does not understand all the risks and you ignore the high and mighty know it all's because that is not who your message is directed at to begin with.

You always take the cautious approach and i am sure many people/lurkers greatly appreciate all your help and info.

Hey guys I got my new DXR a few weeks ago and I just finally popped a blu-ray into the BD-ROM to test it out but it seems like I dont have any software that'll play blu-rays. Anybody know any good free software that plays blu-ray discs?
