Which DXR model did you get? If it was a model that comes with Blu-Ray 'standard', a player should have been installed as a part of your software package. If this be the case, get with your reseller.

If you added a BD-ROM as an upgrade, it will be your responsibility to get player software, but you can still see if your reseller will help. Personally I opted for PowerDVD 11 Ultra. Works great!

    :)

I think I need help...

How to play the same sound in BOTH headphone and laptop speakers simultaneously in GT780DXR (Windows 7)?

From what I know, the built-in speakers are disabled when an analog headphone is plugged in.
Is there any workarounds to keep the built-in speakers enabled without using an external sound card?

I hate plugging in and out my headphone constantly.

you guys dont have trouble updating the video card driver?

for the 570m, that is, because i'll be buying a laptop soon, my choice would this one or the x775-3DV78 which has also unconfirmed driver issues as of now. i dont want to buy something that would cause me a lot trouble so..

That's the way it was made. you connect the headphone and it mute the laptop speakers.

No problem with 285.62 driver from nVidia.

Hey... I came across this method accidently, only use it if you are really desperate!!! (Laptop is 5 year old ASUS F5R, windows vista)

At the start of the year I bought an Sennheiser HD448. The plug was really well made and fits my audio input perfectly, as in it fits really tightly.
However the cord was quite long so when I stood up my body pulls against it really hard thus the jack is now broken and the first headphone plug was bent as well so I had it warranted.

After getting the new headphone, to my surprise, it can now play both on the headphone in built in speakers simultaneously which it wasn't able to do before, however the audio input does not fit perfectly around the headphone plug now. However, the headphone will not work next time if I didn't unmute the audio manager before I shut down the computer. Meaning the computer must not be muted when it is started up or the audio input does not function.

Maybe you can try to replicate my little accident and get the results you want? XP

Also it's good to note that you can always mute the built in speaker by muting normally while the headphone still plays. The only way to mute the headphone is to unplug it.

After i did a clean innstall on my laptop the usb3 seems to not funkion as a usb3 unit, i have tried to download the drivers from msi page but still get the message that this unit will be faster if connected to a super speed usb 3.0 connection. anyone know why this is happening?

and also after the innstall it seems like i cant scroll as normal by sliding downwards on right side of the touchpad, is it a fix to get that back to what it used to be?

thanks for all the replys and the help i get on this forum :) love it :)

Could you try to do a Caspian Border / other 64 ppl / video on Ultra settings, with normal AA, post processing, etc ? I wanna know if when tweaked, the game could run on ultra. Also, monitor the temps with Afterburner would be sweet. And maybe try some high OC and see the results - both temps and FPS :D Anyway, thank you very much for the SP video.

How did the Sennheiser play ? Was there any problem connecting it to the laptop ? I am curious because i chose Sennheiser to be my brand for new headset. I would like to buy Sennheiser HD598 but they got 6,3 jack. There is a reduction but i dont know if the sound quality will be degraded using 3.5 Reduction.

    Thanks for answer.

Ken, are you able to change VCore with your 570M using Svet's? I can't with my 560M, says the card is not supported, even with the new version.

Also, after flashing, GPU-Z reported my default clocks with the modified VBIOS. But the sensors were reporting the old VBIOS's max frequencies. I used nVidia Inspector to change it on the fly, but it ruins the point of Svet's if I can just use Inspector, especially if I can't change the voltages. Have you ever come across this?

I have written Svet regarding the problem you are reporting with the GTX 560M. Hopefully we will hear from him soon. When I asked him to support the 570M, I had to send him numerous screenshots of NVAPI test of the system in different states. Perhaps he needs more data, and hopefully we will hear from him soon.

Since you are reporting using the latest version of his tool, I assume you have supported his work? ;)

Yep, got the new version this morning. Thought I never received it but it was waiting in my spam folder. Overclocked my 560m GTX to outrageous levels. http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3597821?show_ads=true&page=/3dmv/3597821?key=hSrfNiXfQEJnGmtU8XwyGQ

Was able to get 10.1k GPU score for Vantage. Those are the highest clocks possible without a voltage bump (now you see why VCore is important to work with Svet's Tool) and my max temps in BF3 are 81*C (very good for those speeds); my CPU runs warmer than that. I wanna get that 1 GHz core clock :p!

Also, thanks Striker! If he needs anything, feel free to PM me. I'll be more than happy to provide him with whatever, I don't want to hi-jack your thread.

Well GREAT! Since you are a contributor, perhaps you could coordinate with him directly on this.

YES, those temps are very nice at those speeds! I just inquired of Ken what his temps were in his last video. He said he forgot to check, because he was having too much fun trying to get through the sniper level. He also said he will do more vids this weekend.

LOL! 1GHz! Burn Baby Burn, LOL! Careful..... I hate hearing of misfortune. :D

I'll report back on what I hear from Svet, if he request more data. Oh BTW, I sent him a link of your system bios mod thread.

    :)

EDIT: I just PM'ed you with Svet's reply.....

Wow, very nice FPS boost when the card is overclocked. Very nice. Thanks for the upload.

Wow :D Getting 1 Ghz core clock. Man you are crazy :D I would be afraid to do it on my Dekstop GTX570...This is GTX560M/570M...

But for the sake of sience :)p) i will get Svet's Tool when i get the CoolerMaster CF-19 ( Keeping Your Laptop Cool With The CM Storm SF-19 Notebook Cooler Tech Byte - YouTube ) and the Belkin Cush top Case to hold those two ( Belkin CushTop Unboxing/Review! - YouTube ) and Overclock the heck out of this card. Run Ultra in Battlefield 3 and then report back. It will either burn and explode or success and yield great results :D I would be really afraid to try this without the cooling pad. I just am :D

But it is really turning out how fun it is to own this machine and do such things with it. I am really having a good week.

EDIT : 950 ....What can i say. Just go for it man. Youre almost there !

Don't worry I have the cooling under control. Notice the 80's*C with 950mhz core. Working with Svet currently on getting voltage control. I did try BF3 on ultra, but no AA and it was smooth. I didn't record FPS because I was more worried about overheating/driver crashes. Keep in mind though, my stock speeds were 775mhz, not 575mhz like your 570m.

I would never want to keep those voltages/clocks 24/7. Too dangerous for a notebook, but if I got the tool, let's see what we can do, set any records and such.

Okay no more discussion about my notebook, back to the GT780xxx discussion :)!

Ah, that would be the case since your 560M is 775 stock. Even then, i would try around 850 with my 570M...Anyway is there a way to set a 2D and 3D profile like in Afterburner ? i think that even if this overclocking might be more dangerous, using it just for some time, not 24/7 might be ok.

Also, does Afterburner set Voltage itself when more advanced overclocking is done, or do you have to manually set it up ? because in Afterburner the Voltage and Fan bars are locked, and i dont know if the Voltage scales. Might yield some better results, too.

Just curious, when you guys overclock your GPU's do you ever run any artifact tests to see if there are any errors? The reason I ask is because I can run my 570m at 750/1500/1800 and not have any problems at all. No artifacts, no crashes, no nothing.

If I run the GPU artifact tool in OCCT though, I get errors after a minute or two. I've never known if that program is 100% reliable for stuff like that though?

Umm... you mean after I broke it or before? Before breaking it fits really snugly in my audio output, more tighter than other earphone/headphone I used and rotating the plug requires a bit of pressure applied. After I broke it, it down plugs in a bit loosely, although the sound output is perfectly fine. (I'm using ASUS F5R and Sennheiser HD448) So far after using my 3m extension cord I didn't find any reduce in sound quality, but I'm not that much an audiophile anyway so maybe I just can't tell.

In my opinion Sennheiser offers decent quality for the price. It's not cheap but also not overpriced (unlike Beats haha...)

That's why nvidia does not like furmark. It puts an unreal stress level on the GPU that'll most likely never be reached when playing games.

So basically if I get errors when running the OCCT GPU stability test, I shouldn't worry about it because the GPU will never get stressed that hard during games?

I wouldn't be, unless you see them while gaming. Because you know you'll never be stressing your GPU like OCCT or furmark do.

I may try to solder the headphone jack to remove the sensor if it's on there. :D

Most likely you won't hear any differences, unless the jack reduction is of rotten quality, as it's usually the splitters that cause significant audio quality reduction.
By the way, don't forget to disable THX Studio PRO if you are using a headphone, unless you enjoy having a high pass radio-like filter on your music. :)

Hey~ so is this THX thingie useless? Along the lines of bloatware? It seems that no one suggests using it, but it's advertised after years of research blah blah...

And yea XP might be some sensor I destroyed, I hope you find it? Can you tell me where it is afterwards?

THX Studio Pro is not useless, but definitely not very useful too.
It makes bad speakers sound a bit better by remixing the audio with some filters.

High quality headphones are hurt by the sound modifications, your ears will start to bleed because high quality headphones can capture the flaws of the modification attempts, e.g: ATH M-50, Sennheiser HD600-800.

I have yet to find the sensor, I will check on it later on. My theory is the port needs to be loose enough to be unnoticed by the sensor, yet firm enough to capture the audio signals from the notebook.

I think this is irreversible, so I need to check my options first through software workarounds. :)

So I -just received my GT780DXR-099US (stock) and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. My ONLY two complaints I've encountered so far is the "no caps lock warning" and the touch pad being a little quirky.I'm just a bit curious about a little detail. I bought this bad boy in order to be able to game decently on it for the next couple of years..

My issue encountered is.. I ran System Requirement Lab's "can you run it" ( www.canyourunit.com) to test if I was able to pass the necessary requirements in order to play Battlefield 3. I passed all the tests with flying colors except the CPU test. It put me at a mere 2.0 which caused the site to say that I can barely run BF3 in low settings because I was barely able to pass the minimum requirements.

I do realize the laptop has a one-touch overclock tool but I was wondering if the fact that the first 'big' game puts me at barely passing minimum requirements.. would this be a problem I can have in the future? should I have maybe gotten a better CPU for this laptop? Any advice could help guys, thanks!

Reinstall USB 3.0 drivers and try to use the ports in the left side of the laptop.
Try to reinstall your touchpad driver, check whether your touchpad is Sentellic or not, and then download the proper driver of the brand on MSI.

You should be fine, the GPU is more important in this case. I have the stock CPU (model listed on sig) and the beta ran quite well, haven't had any games push the CPU all that hard anyway, not that I've noticed at least. Can You Run it? is somewhat helpful, but not an entirely accurate measure of your systems power. Also, looking at the requirements for BF3 it looks as though the processor for recommend is listed simply as "Processor: Quad-core CPU" with no other details given. I'd certainly say your CPU fits that bill.

AH~ thanks for the info!!! Looks like I'll be needing it haha.

On this Chinese forum they said B3 eats up 80% of CPU on desktop 2500k... maybe it's just this particular game?

OMG~ does that mean GT780 doesn't have an LED Caps lock indicator??? I thought that was standard since many years ago. Or does it actually have it? (Sorry I don't have 780 yet) How does the Lock indicator work? Is it like a warning sign on desktop?

Actually i think even DICE confirmed that you need 3.0 Quad core CPU to enjoy the game together with good GPU at its finest. I dont find it strange. As far as i am concerned, the 2630 tops at 2.9...Maybe the extra Mhz the ( mine ) 2760 got helps a little bit.

Can you run it is surely not accurate, because it doesnt detect OC which was reported long time ago. Basically - Run the game. See if it run well at YOUR desirable settings. If yes, good. If not, overclock.

Shame is, you cant OC the CPU. Even if you have the XM its not that easy. So just overclock your GPU. Do all sorts of possible tweaks. Least but not last tweak the game settings. Battlefield got quite a lot of them, so just turn something up and something down.

    Works like a charm.
Just make sure to use an HDMI 1.4 cable.

Now that I've updated all of my drivers on my GT780DXR-099US.. I was wondering where I could find the updated BIOS version listed on the MSI website but the 64 bit version of them since the listed ones are 32 bit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thx!

I can confirm that the Kingson HyperX Plug n Play Laptop memory kits are recognized at and run at 1600MHZ. I have two 8GB kits (16GB total), part num: KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G.

The other Kingston HyperX 1600 kit did not work at 1600MHZ, but ran at 1333MHZ instead.

The difference is due to where the speed/timing data is stored. The regular HyperX chips use an XMP profile, while the "Plug n Play" chips have the 1600Mhz specs right on the SPD chip. This allows the BIOS to recognize the correct speed.

Please note, you still need a processor that supports 1600Mhz to use the Plug n Play memory (2760QM or better).

You can find these at Newegg. The Plug n Play (the one you want) has a gray color heatsink. The bad non-Plug n play version has a blue heatsink.

The faster memory was good for +0.2 in the Memory rating for the Windows Experience Index (7.6 to 7.8). Yes, I know, but it was the only benchmark I had handy....

Bios isn't related to 32/64 bit. It doesn't operate under OS operations.
    Its only one build.

So update with the stated version. The 32bit text on the download means nil.

    Thanks for the detailed info!!!

Hmm~ so now we have a tiny box and a star on desktop to deal with... do you find them irritating? or at FHD resolution they're so small that they can be ignored?

The boxes only appear when you hit the caps lock button and disappear a second later.
