    Hi All,
I have continued the work after 1080GTX upgrade. With the new vbios nvidia driver works flawlessy, and I have also put cooling heatsinks on the VRMs. It is the the SSD heatsink, what can be purchased on Ali, cut in half :) Pls find the pic below. Cheers

Do the cooling copper heatsinks actually help ?
did you test effect of heatsink vs no heatsinks?

I have not tested enough, however the cpu temps seems lower a little, but not significantly. I will share some results later.

i tried it but after several unstable voltage tweaks i end up in BiOS loop the only to fix it is remove the CMOS battery? I don't want to extract everything (it's on the other side of the moneyboard) only for reconnecting the battery

Try doing what Matyee suggested and use the CMOS reset button on the bottom (hold for 5 seconds). Mine got stuck in a reboot loop once and may have been luck, but holding the DEL key during bootup allowed me to actually get inside the bios long enough to use the restore optimal factory settings which should overwrite any tweaks you made to the BIOS. If it is rebooting while trying to load windows,go in safe mode and uninstall the app you used to tweak the bios.

okay so first i try to detach the CMOS battery and first boot was 30-40sec on black screen next it restarted and just enter boot loop again
now just tried the reset button but it does not reset the bios since the clock still continue counting

@matyee - how did you attach those heatsinks to the VRMs? Just use the tape that's provided or something else?

with the provided tapes, seemed strong enough... the cpu temp dropped a little by a couple of degrees, the vrms cooled a lot (19V desktop vrms). I think its worth doing - especially for OC - as the VRM gets some cooling at least...

Into what size chunks did you cut them? It looks like halves but it’s a little hard to tell.

Dont expect too much changes in cpu temp, however these VRMs are desktop ones using 19V, so they are crying for cooling :) these heatsinks can extend the lifetime of the little beast for sure :) only a couple of bucks and half an hour investment :)

For sure. Just ordered a few. Now I have to borrow a Dremel or have someone cut them. I can probably ask one of my co-workers to do it.

the problem was that after unstable cpu blue screen crash the NVMe drive got all partition corrupted so there was no UEFI boot files... i got to format and reinstall everything from scratch :|

    That should not happen.
Are you sure that your SSD is still working correctly?
Maybe the bluescreen was not the reason why the SSD lost crucial data, but rather the SSD losing crucial data caused the bluescreen.
Windows is quite sensitive when it comes to system files no longer being where they are supposed to be.

So I'm having a bit of an issue, I bought my eurocom tornado f5 for quite cheap, added in a 6700k, 16gb of ram and a gtx 1070 for some strange reason the display is blank. On hdmi the laptop works flawlessly but that defeats the purpose of the laptop as I need the internal screen to work. I've tried the hotkey at the top and it did nothing.
Does anyone know what the issue could be?

LCD is shot, or LCD cable is loose/disconnected?

The lcd is not even detected in windows, this seller has scammed me. I'm pretty sure this motherboard is done for.

It's not the lcd, most likely it's the cable or the mobo. I'm not willing to find out either, this laptop has a fan issue too, fan sounds like a tractor when idling.

If the LCD is not connected it's not gonna turn on at all, less be detected in Windows.

This system has notoriously flakey factory fans, they've crapped out on many owners within the first year and had to get replaced.

Tried another lcd and the same issue arises. I disconnected the lcd cable and the laptop boots fine on hdmi...

Forgot to mention this is the first gen tornado f5, the msi 16l1 not 16l13.

Seller said it was working fine, never displayed a picture of the laptop screen on though, I think I should return it. What do you think, this maybe to much trouble to waste more money on anyway.

Ive got a clevo P870dm-g and an aw 18 I needed this as a uni laptop, guess I'm gonna have to lug the clevo around lol.

Sounds like you got scammed. Maybe it was cheap for a reason. If you checked the LCD connector on the mobo and the cable looks fine also, maybe it's a panel whitelisting issue in the BIOS or the screen is dead.

The cable looks flawless so does the connector, should I try flashing a new bios? I don't think it would make much difference.

Without knowing the model no. of the panel itself as well as which ones are whitelisted in the BIOS, it's a stab in the dark.

Nah, that's more in regards to G-Sync compatibility but it wouldn't prevent the LCD from displaying.

TBH I think the screen is just dead.

Yes, If the GPU came out from another system (Like G25vortex or the Zotac counterpart that all has MSI's gpus).
I don't know if here in the thread someone posted GTX 1070n vbios, but you could take a try with every other vbios that came out from laptop's with MSI 1070n (non q) in it or take a look on techspot bios db.
What cpu are you willing to put in Tornado F5?

As a last resort can someone please link me their gtx 1070 vbios please?

I think it is a vbios issue, BTW I just flashed the coffee lake bios and I have a i5 8600k working right now.

If someone can provide me with a vbios I might be able to show some evidence lol.

These are the two Vbioses released by MSI
    First is stock GT73VR Vbios.

second is GT72VR (yes, I said GT72VR) Bios that was released then "recalled" by MSI for some reason (someone on forums having problems with it). Yet it works 100% perfectly for me in my GT73VR. I even TDP modded it to 230W.

Another 1070 vbios is "0D" but maybe you can get that from the official MSI page for the GT72VR. if it's even available still. That was the first gsync bios for it.

    try them both.

    THESE ARE ALL GSYNC BIOSES.
If you want a non gsync bios you can try the GT83VR version:

I will flash and test each one, its OK to flash directly with spi programmer right? Now that I have one it's so much easier to flash bios's.

Infact I fixed one of my faulty alienware 18 motherboards by just flashing the bios on it again, the skypro programmer is the best.

These can be flashed with NVflash.
Only modded bioses need to be flashed with a SPI programmer + 1.8v adapter.
I didn't post the 230W TDP bioses I modded. No one would want them anyway.

Can I flash the gsync vbios onto my gpu?
