just checked silicon lottery website and they selling 7700k @5.2 for over 700$+, wow. it seems HID are reasonable with the price thn since they doing icu too on the heatsink and cpu.hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Hmm Eurocom's setup is $65 cheaper with the student discount. However, I've had better luck with HIDEvolution's support team.
@woodzstack so it's already possible to order these with the 120hz display? Do you just have to ask them? Because neither Eurocom or HID has the 120hz option yet on the F5.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

last week they had a 5.1 GHz and now it's gone, maybe HIDevolution bought them all since they get a lot of their CPUs from them

5.2ghz is a bit rare sure. But only a bit.
Out of 2 of my 7700k's, one can do 5.3Ghz easy! The other can 5.25Ghz for heavy loads and 5.3Ghz for wPrime ish loads. And these are off the shelf / amazon processors.
The prices we are being charged for these delidded processors are nothing short of ridiculous.Ashtrix, Rage Set, Papusan and 1 other person like this. -

sold out tho.

Updating the sig doesn't really matter to me, if i really wanted i could replace the whole thing with my desktop specs ( 2 x Xeon 16 Cores)
With a Dm3, the temps will be at least 4-5C lower, specially when only the processor is being stressed, because of the massive heatsink.
Its about finding the right settings, and not maxing the **** out of everything.
But have a look at these :

I agree on the CPU part though. My 6700K can easily do 4.8Ghz on throttlestop and 4.9Ghz validation, all on stock max fans(DM3). Needed extra cooling to go over 4.7Ghz and BIOS overclocking to get 4.8/4.9 on the DM1 -

I think 5.3Ghz+ is what I would consider a good bin.
5.1Ghz like mentioned should be the "4.6Ghz" on the 6700Ks
5.2Ghz should be like the "4.8Ghz" on 6700K
5.3Ghz should be like the "5.0Ghz" on 6700K
I wouldn't spend any extra unless it can do 5.3Ghz or +woodzstack, Papusan and birdyhands like this. -

Would a delidded 7700K run any cooler than a delidded 6700K, in the Tornado F5?
I finally have my delid tool, Intel 8260 Wifi cards (they were backordered), so I could either delid the 6700K, or go buy a 7700K from Micro Center for $355 and delid that instead. Also, does delidding change the resale value of a used chip? I guess it voids the warranty, but it may be attractive for someone who doesn't have a delid tool themselves. -

delidding yourself will void your CPU warranty but I don't think if you're selling it to someone who appreciates the benfits of delidding would care. When you have the reseller de-lid a CPU for you however like HIDevolution, they would cover the warranty from their own pockets.
Also from my experience with the 7700K that I recently bought, it isn't as easy to tame the temps by simple undervolting. The Skylake CPUs could take a a bigger undervolt anywhere from -150mV to -40MV depending on what core raitos you want to set whereas with the Kaby Lake, you have much less room for undervolting, you get the draw of the luck, it either runs well or doesn't -

Either I'm just worrying too much or I got duped by svet. I sent the donation, did all the required stuff and he hasn't replied to my last email which was 5 hours ago. Maybe it's the different time zones if he's in another one. He also did say that it would take 5-6 hours but I'm getting a bit worried now. Rage set, how long did it take for him to do your bios?

What are you guys talking about, there are massive drops in temps after delidding the 7700k. One persons bad experience doesn't over rule multiple other ones that have been posted in the Clevo OC thread.
Obviously 5Ghz + will be impossible for daily use. But 4.8Ghz is definitely easily possible. Maybe even 4.9Ghz depending on the type of use and ambient temperatures. This was impossible with the 6700k.
But 5.1/5.2Ghz are easily benchable over air using only a U3, even more if you take the bottom cover off.
Heck on a desktop the temp gains under water , will let you run 5.2Ghz as 24/7 clocks.
ALSO SETTINGS MATTER A LOT!!!!!!! DONT EXPECT NORMAL TEMPS BY JUST DIALING THE MAX POWER SETTINGS IN!!!
NEXT IS THE HEAT SINK AND THE CONTACT IT IS MAKING WITH THE PROCESSOR IHS.
There is a lot of mis-information out there that has people confused. And people are jumping to conclusions way too quickly.
5.2Ghz is pretty common, but anything 5.3Ghz or over and it starts to get rare/system dependent.Last edited: Jan 22, 2017Mr. Fox likes this. -

No worries @birdyhands Svet is a super good guy. No worries he will get back to you when he wakes or has your BIOS ready. Even after my flash he provided me with continued feedback and support. He really goes the extra mile when it comes to BIOS support.
@Mr. Fox can you please hurry up and get your F5 already. We're all very excited for your initial impressions and feedback on BIOS support.Rage Set and birdyhands like this. -

I was not talking about lower or higher temps after delidding the 7700K. I said that you can't expect lower temp for 7700K vs. previous 6700K.
7700K is clocked higher stock, hence don't expect lower temp vs. a lower clocked stock 6700KLower voltage for Kaby compensate for the higher clock speed stock. You meet the ceiling with 6700K, but not with 7700K who can clock higher. And higher overclock for 7700K will make higher temp in the end

For me the 7700k runs cooler. When I tested the 6700k in this laptop, it only got -.065v undervolt at 4.4, this 7700k runs at 4.4 with a -.135v undervolt.
win32asmguy, Papusan, bloodhawk and 1 other person like this. -
It does seem so close as to be the same thermal characteristics at the same user tuneable settings.
@yotano it would have helped to have set the undervolt to the same value with both CPU's at the same clock settings to see how close they are apart in thermal output -
This 7700k I have know can go much lower at 4.4 on undervolt. I am still trying to push it lower on the voltage. I think it might be stable at -.140. It was just installed yesterday so I dont fully know yet.hmscott likes this. -

Keep in mind every CPU has their own VID so it may vary from chip to chip, also note especially when looking for stability. If you're looking for stability that there is also C-State and C1E settings where if you go into idle mode it uses less voltage at around 800MHz idle so there is the stress test at full load and then theres also testing of low voltage/low frequency... that is if you don't run the CPU at static frequency/high performance mode. So while it may pass hours of stress testing, it can still BSOD on idle.

I am relatively sure if you send out an email to Eurocom, and follow up until the respond to you, you should be okay.
If unsure, you can always contact me directly via Convo on these forums and I can help you choose whats best for you, if your stuck in some sort of decision.
If I was just delidding testing and selling the CPU... well, I would offer the CPU's at cost or near next to it. The delidding is a worthy sales argument for some people but voids any INTEL warranty you have. if someone sent me thier CPU to simply remove the IHS carefully, ****, I'd charge them postage back and delid it for free, they can apply thier own paste and such. If tons of people started sending me thier CPU's okay - I might charge like 5$ so not everyone does it, would become a liability lol.
But Silicon Valley is a gimmick, but last I checked they said they have not sold to any major vendors, like HIDevolution or Eurocom, Sager, MSI whomever... or any real big vendor snake oil sales man etc.. so if these companies say they get thier CPU's from Silicon Valley, they're blowing smoke up your arse and lying. It also wouldn't make sense, they guys get trays of CPU's and have 10x the stock Silicon valley has to draw a potential winner from, and if they had to it would cost much less to test 20 CPU's then pay an extra 150$ for one because someone says it's 100Mhz more then usual at certain settings.
Anyways, if anyone wants thier CPU delid, just create a thread in the appropriate area of the forum, theres bound to be help and people who would offer to do it for free, or as some friendly enthusiasts service. I would name people who i know have the tools like I do, who I think would help you, but I feel I would be dumping some of you ontop them without getting thier permission first lol, so just ask around !
for sure 5.3Ghz is relatively possible on any random binned 7700K. That is like hitting 5.0Ghz on a 6700K (which is, relatively fairly simple to hit)
Give it a day, maybe even 2, I bet he has more then enough people bothering him lately for us mentioning him here on the forums, in which case I should have asked before I did that, or I should have just linked a post or something on MSI forums instead.
Anyways - he's cool, and can be trusted, and really knows his stuff, if he doesn't know, he will be first to tell you too, so like - he is not some pretender, or gonna steal your "donation" and run off lol. -
