LOL, CLU is difficult to use or do properly... I personally don;t use CLU but use Grizzly's version, bit more expensive.
Anyways - did they delid or just apply CLU ?
Now, I do not want to get caught speaking ill of Eurcom and thier paste job, but literally there was issues with this type of maintenance and installation from them, not 100%, but it was inconsistent.
They have more then 1 guy doing this, and I think one guy is new, and learning the ropes, or who knows.. I know the method they use is like supposed to be very stable, but it's not that great of a method these days, and was more akin to what you do 10+ years ago.
You don;t go to Eurocom because you want professional paste job. You go to to third parties (like me or friends like some of the mods here on NBR or friends like Mr.Fox etc..) or semi third parties like HIDevolution, who do nothing but that sort of thing and guarantee it.
Alternatively - ask us for a how-to, and ask the right questions and learnt o do it yourself, this way is the most effective. you want something done right, you do it yourself, mentality.
If you got a CLU job but no delid, then - I beg to ask, did they just place CLU on the outside of the IHS but left the part where it needs it, alone, i.e inside / underneath the IHS ?
(I'm curious about this, and not trying to be slanderous or anything...)

So when I get my Clu, what method of pasting should I do on it? Also did you have problems with the gpu heat sink screws getting stripped?

I dont think this model laptop is design well for the K processor and 1080. The Skylake processor already runs very high on voltage on stock, adding a 1080 to the mix is beyond stupid. Doesnt make sense when the 1080 is throttled to 150watts.
The 1080 is very powerful but not for this laptop and heat sink design. Yes you can get the temperatures down but most people will not delid a processor fearing it will break it. And most people dont have the time to delid a processor and go through the proper steps to put it back together.
Honestly I would just return it with those kinds of temps. -
That's why people uncomfortable doing it should get a reseller like HID to do it. Delidding is so incredibly beneficial that I consider it crazy to ever not do it, especially in a laptop.

Alright guys so if you're dumb like me and stripped one of your gpu heatsinks' screws, then you can go to this website to order some more: http://www.laptopscrews.com/M2x4.htm
Also, do yourself a favor and buy the last option which is stainless steel instead of wafer because it's more durable. Just finished my order pretty good deal $2 for 15 so I'll have extra just in case.

Just repaste the laptop yourself with a new paste. Also delid your CPU to get much cooler temperatures, it's not that hard to do and you only need a razor blade to do it

I dont want delid and repaste after payed more than 2700€ ;(

A lot of the Jokebooks out there have thermal problems and need to be fixed by the owners. Don't expect miracles from other brands!! Put of 1 hour and fix it by yourself. @Mr. Fox Will most likely push out a teardown video you can follow. As well ask him questions. I'm sure he will help you out with this.FredSRichardson and Rage Set like this.

but the wafer head is different from the flat head?
surface on the flathead is angled (countersunk) instead of being a completely flat on the wafer head -
that's with complete stock no repaste, delid or undevolt. also temp here isnt cold either 25+ room. i think thats amazing considering asus with 1070 was hitting 90+ on cpu.
-
The size of the actual body is the same but the head doesn't need to be exact because theres nothing that prevents the stainless steel one from fitting in the chassis for the laptop

I use a precision screw driver that has rubber grips that are very soft, and it fit sin my hand comfortably, this allows me to not strip anything, and I've gotten sued to using it over the years. wait, how is it even possible an F5 comes to that price ? You purchased 2 x 1TB 960 Pro and the 2TB SATA 2.5" SSD and 4 x 16GB RAM and 4K screen with overnight shipping ?
That's like $4,000CAD , you could have purchased 2.5x F5 for that price. Just saying. Okay maybe 2 x with shipping ... -
Do you know where I can buy one of these screwdrivers? Or even a link to buy that one that you have?

Oh yeah, you took the heatsink off ? I've had a panic attack almost every time trying to pry that thing off.
Now I suffer PTSD when I receive an F5 and have to do a repaste. I usually have to take a break afterwards and make sure I don;t drink any coffee for a few hours before attempting to do so. I have a small scale with a hook, and I measured 70Lbs of pressure to take it off once. I couldn't frigging believe it. Most scrawny IT nerds won;t have enough strength in thier main hand to pry that thing off if it was levelled and gripped properly.
I was more then sure on many occasions the motherboard was going to snap in half or crack first. I'm surprised these heatsinks don't break in half just trying to get them off.
Anyways, I found the toughest time was on this one heatsink, where they left the silkscreen thermal paste on the heatsink bond with ICD7 on the CPU IHS. They might look similiar, but they chemically bonded. I think one had some sort of zinc oxide carbide plus copper plus aluminium plus more carbon under pressure...Ashtrix, Papusan, hmscott and 1 other person like this. -

just a cheap driver that fit me ergonomically well, from a local hardware store. Go feel one for yourself and test it. If its too light or small or too large and unyeildy its of less usebirdyhands likes this. -

Received my Tornado F5. So far I'm just installing software. I will say there is a bad fan on my unit. Immediately during first boot, the CPU fan growls at idle and is super annoying. The GPU fan does not have this noise so I swapped the GPU and the CPU fans and it is much better (until the GPU is used of course.)
I'm looking for replacement options. I would love to try the T&T B9733L12B-028 instead of this AAVID PABD19735BM which is known to have some obnoxious tendencies. -
does this machine have two fan suppliers?
-
Wow, I would be asking for a refund of the LM job if I paid for it and got those temps. I am sorry to say but it does look like you need to do a repaste. Also if you're looking for a RMA or refund, you should contact them via phone, not on the forum. I can't believe those temps at stock, unacceptable.
-
I personally would do a repaste with IC Diamond and look, if you get lower temps + a healthy undervolt of -150mv. It's not that complicated!
As a last resort you still can RMA it.Papusan likes this. -
150mv is not guaranteed to be stable on every chip
at the most I would guarantee a starting point of 45mv for every chipbirdyhands likes this. -
That's probably right. Just meaning that an undervolt would help in this case.

odd question., why do you ask ? There might very well be other fans same size of various performance. -
Yeah I second this. As long there isn't a hardware problem, do it yourself. Less headache than send it in for re-paste.Ashtrix, birdyhands and Rage Set like this.

You know, I bet the heatsink is not making proper contact, being the LM is too thin., ALSO this is CLU and not conductonaught, AND it is surely not a delid, but just CLU ontop of the IHS.
I think i have more then one occasion warned people to use a third party or do it yourself for this exact sort of situation. This is not exactly Eurocom's speciality, they're great, we all love them sure, but pasting seems to be a common denominator on the list of things to redo with their service - IF you are one of us, the kind of people frequenting a forum like this, getting every last drop out of your hardware and spending hundreds of hours learning how to do it or it's simply a way of life to you, or a hobby for most of us. For the common user - a stock experience is USUALLY decent enough if you were to compare it to something purchased at a kiosk at best buy, actually in that regards Eurocom is WAY BETTER and the temps and performance is MUCH BETTER with Eurocom then something at a store Kiosk like bestbuy etc... so take things with a grain of salt, and know that it's not that Eurocom's service is bad per se, it's just we're setting the bar very very high and comparing it to the best of the best. In that regard, I'm not sure if Eurocom should be sold at a best buy, as typically this sort of higher performing laptop is not available in stores.
So yeah, TL/DR it's not entirely Eurocom here, they deliver on what to expect, usually without much issue, HOWEVER - you want the extra OOMPHS we're showing in customised instances, then you have to get third party service or do it yourself, which is a fun and exciting learning curve and why we consider this our hobby after all.
Sorry for trying to be politically correct, I do not want to offend or upset anyone or cause drama or rumours etc..
Aren't you on discord with me, lol. I can show you anything you like in real time , with this laptop. We can share it in our Moderators channel even to be super secret and like...
just as I say this, there goes Pathan ...same question..

When I ordered my Tornado F5 from Eurocom, I order the very basics. I can and always do my own work. I have been surprised on how well it runs with their paste though and I haven't had the need to repaste. When I delid the 7700K, that's when I'm going to pull out all of those TIMs I purchased for my former P870DM3.
-
I have the same issue. I said something about this some weeks ago. Its not a very big issue but I think over the next year it might be worse.
-
Oh my gosh you guys I almost just had a heart attack because I was being so stupid with my laptop. So I was trying at first to delid with the razor blade method but I wasn't getting anywhere so next I tried the vise method. The only thing is, is that I don't have the big huge one just a small hand held one with grooves like you'll see in the picture below. I tried covering the grooves with some paper and tape to soften it and then tried to delid it. Guess how that went. It went really badly I kept cranking up the wheel to try to get it off but it just wouldn't so I even tried another vise grip on the vise grip
trying to get more force but I was really stupid to do that. Even with the tape the grooves from the first went through the CPU like maybe half a cm. As soon as I saw this freaked out and loosened it. I was almost going to cry even because I didn't think it as okay but I skipped the delid, repeated with mx4 and closed everything up. Thank goodness everything booted up into the os and I'm going to try a game now to see how it is. Hopefully nothing goes wrong.
