it's your call man. Does the HIDevolution has a better screen and / or specs than what you have now? are you ready to take a risk with their customer service should anything go wrong? that's what you have to decide

HIDEvolution. I had already read a ton of threads the last 2 days and knew it would be worth going with them, though I did take a look at other companies to get an idea of what the pricing would be like.

Double or nothing, I say. 2x 512GB Samsung 960 Pro in our review unit, that's a sight.

Yes, exactly, that is what I wanted to point out to @Charles P. Jefferies on his own post.

Maybe Notebookreview will get the image hosting fixed so we don't have to host elsewhere.

No, the EVOC 16L-G-1080 is only available with the nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.

For the nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 with i7 "K" CPUs, Delidded - Unlocked, Under Volted and Overclocked, please look at the EVOC P750DM2-G.

I can see your image :)

However, I noticed sometimes, someone posts an image, and I just see a little icon but no image, if I click on the reply button to reply to his post, the image then appears in the place where I am about to type to reply, very strange

Has anyone tested any Linux distros with this machine? I'm just curious how much work it will take to get Ubuntu 16.04 or later on it when I get mine.

Has anyone got the newest Nvidia "notebook" driver to install? It's 378.49 and I can't find a modded INF that will allow it to install on this machine.

    Awesome, thanks for the photo's!!

Now I see how they are different - the 7700k added that same Tabbed edge in the other direction.

The Skylake delid tool we have been talking about might work for both, but the new Kabylake updated tool would have an extra tab etched for the 7700k to fit / hold better in the rig.
Wouldn't that be nice for a change? Getting vindication of the potential of the laptop in the same review it's out of the box review shows it's running "too hot"?

I wonder if that is enough to encourage vendors to do the tuning at the factory / bench so the out of the box experience *is* the best it can be.

At least prospective owners would know for certain the laptop can be tuned for the performance they are hoping for, and also realize they need to do it themselves - for now. :)

I think the best way to do what you suggest is to review the HIDevolution.com EVOC 16L-G-1080 that comes standard with Delidded - Unlocked, Under Volted and Overclocked Intel i7 "K" CPU with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra, plus a carefully built thermal solution. It would be nice to see it reviewed with the 15.6" Full HD (1920x1080) 120Hz AUO AHVA (B156HTN05.2) Matte Type Display w/ 30 Day No Brite Dot Guarantee as well...no?

Can anyone point me in the right direction or offer some help, my thunderbolt port isn't working and neither is my webcam, I have installed all drivers from Eurocom, but no luck. Are there many MSI drivers I need to install? I have found this thread has become very difficult to navigate without a sticky. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have built computers in the past, but I'm having trouble finding what I need to get everything up and running properly. Thank you.

I did my delid with the Rockit 88 Delid Tool that I ordered from Amazon.
The 1st 7700k I delidded was with a razor, took some 20 min, 1st delid I ever did. The 88 delid tool took 2 min.

We don't know for sure yet, but @woodzstack got a cable for my monitor today. He'll know soon whether or not it works, and either him or me will let you know which cable is needed and what needs to be done to use a Sharp 4K IGZO panel in the F5. Hopefully it works.

scratch that, not working. Maybe a different cable.

Anyways the 4K looks great, but has viewing angle issues. Like it's just not as sharp as the stock panel or the 120hz panel from what I've seen. Black is light grey from most angles is what I mean.

I'm thinking of reviewing mine when it arrives, because I have a different perspective than those who buy the machine primarily for gaming. There is a lot of MSI popularity in the Unity game engine development community, and so I think people would be interested in this machine.

Tell them to fix some of these issues with the track pad button not working with these new bios. The FN F3 button to shut it off and on does not work after I updated to the new bios to support 7700k processor.

    "Eurocom = Never again"
-From someone else. (scroll to page 311)

Just FYI....anyone buying this machine, you are essentially paying an extra $500+ to have a desktop CPU in a laptop from questionable companies and questionable practices with no warranty if it arrives DOA or dead pixels, etc. Ask yourself...why don't they have a no cpu option? Their cpu's are known to overdraw voltage, indicating faulty hardware, or returned parts. Kids these days. I mean a D rating on BBB is super hard to get. You have to TRY REALLY HARD to be that bad. HID isnt even accredited. They actually re-use the same pictures Eurocom is using? Really? CP is **** from personal experience. Just watch what you are getting please!

    Wtf?
Slander much and not know what you are talking about?

I mean I have had 3 CP fangbook in a row and never had a major issue and when I did have to deal with support they always responded within 24 hours if I did email.

While I have had my issues with Eurocom and so has others, why are you dragging HIDevolution into this? You claim you have personal experience with them, so please share.

I see from your previous posts, you have your concerns. Yet you have no personal dealings with Eurocom or HIDevolution. If you had problems with CyberPowerPC, you can't relate those to other resellers because they sell the same barebones.

For the record, my issues with Eurocom stem from me feeling I was overcharged because I elected to use Amazon Payments and Eurocom did (after a bit of back and forth through e-mails) give me a stick of RAM for free. Eurocom isn't all that bad or even the worse (that title goes to Asus in my opinion), just slow to respond.

Wow can't believe Fn+F6 is all it was for the webcam, I feel silly for how easy that was, but would never have figured that out on my own. Thank you! It was as if it wasn't recognized at all. I hope my thunderbolt issue is this easy to resolve.

don't feel stupid bro. Even I made the same mistake 2 years ago.

I bought a new Alienware 18, the webcam wasn't detected or working when I launched Skype as if I had no webcam.

So I called Dell support, a girl answered the phone and when I told her this, she created a ticket to send me a technician to open up my brand new laptop and install a new webcam

When the technician arrived at my house, as I was offering him a Dr. Pepper, he just pressed some magical FN + F something key I think it was F7 and the webcam turned on [IMG]

I never felt so stupid in my life before for not researching this online :D
