Pro-Star shows it in stock.
But don't know if they are good.
-
They are good. They've had excellent reviews and some average ones as do most resellers. Their prices are also very good and their sales/support team replies very fast.

But one of the guys here on NBR got a GS60 from them recently. He said he got ICD repaste but there was not much difference in the temps compared with which were reviewed by Gentech PC in their video.
Perhaps they didn't do a good repaste. The laptop was shipped to Saudi Arabia. -
Oh. I'd probably tell them about that before ordering then so they apply the paste properly.
-
I think the paste that comes on them is pretty decent. There wasn't much change on the old Gs60's with ICD repasted. I got a drop with coolabratory liquid ultra but that is liquid metal and you have to be very careful.
-
I asked earlier but don't think anybody responded... are other people seeing light bleed issues on the FHD GS60? It's such a drag playing any dark scenes because there are yellow blobs along the bottom edge and top corners
-
I've got FHD (1080p) on my 870m GS60 and there is zero light bleed in the dark.
-
Yes, I have bleed as well. I've been able to fix a lot of my bleed but it's very involved. I'll be posting what I did in the next couple days.

We will give you a call again today to take care of this issue, thank you. -
This is what I'm dealing with, though it looks much more exaggerated in the picture. So would this be considered defective? I bought it through xoticpc on Amazon, but I think Amazon charges a restocking fee unless there is a defect.
-
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
Is this symptom constantly showing? Can you display something else and this line persists?
If yes, then it's a defective screen which needs to be replaced. -
Sorry, that was a stupid image to use so I've uploaded a better one. The line was not a problem since that is part of the background. The light bleed is my concern.
-
Those bottom bleed spots are going to be in all units. It's caused from the tape pulling back on the edges of the screen
-
Thanks... What about the bleed from the top corners? And would the same problem exist on the 3k screen? I might try to do an exchange since it's becoming pretty bothersome for me
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
If you decide to return that to Amazon I do not think they would charge you a restocking fee.
There are some 4K screens expected in 2-3 weeks, but since they are not available yet we dont know if there will be excessive light bleed. There will be some though as they are IPS screens and that is just a characteristic of them. -
The bleed is actually more noticeable on a glossy screen. The top corners are bad mostly because of abnormal pressure from the clips in those corners. Not all units have it but the glossy ones you will see it to some extent. It's fixable but you have to be very careful and patient

Just talked to Alex at XoticPC and he said that there are some 6GB VRAM laptops available which are currently on hand.
Just put in my order! -
I'm having a hard time getting some info on the 3k display. Google searched until my eyes bleed, and so far my question is still unanswered. (Closest I've found is http://www.panelook.com/VVX16T020G00_Panasonic_15.5_LCM_parameter_22014.html)
I know it has the Panasonic VVX16T029D00 panel, listed with a response time (rise+fall) of 30ms. My concern is performance in games. Afterall it is a gaming laptop. I don't mind a little ghosting, that's to be expected, but how about motion blur and trailing effects? Any help is appreciated
-
I was pretty much set on the GS60 with 6GB VRam, but would definitely think twice if the Gigabyte P35Xv3 gets a good review[hopefully sometime soon] there are soo many things I like about the MSI GS60 though, I really like the idea of the steelseries keyboard, and personally the red dragon on the case, each to there own I say. However, if the gigabyte can offer a similar sized laptop with a 980m, that is a deal changer for me. However like I said I would like to see a review on the gigabyte offering first to make up my mind.
I hope reviews of the GS60 with 3k/4k screen and 6gb VRam come out soon!dorj1234 likes this. -
We should be getting the 6 GB -064 reviews soon since they are starting to get it in stock.

How would the reviews differ from the 3gb version?
-
Probably not much but still worth taking a look if there is one.
-
Plus if your are splashing the best part of £1500+ I would want to make sure it's worth it. Granted probably won't see any difference with 6gb VRam, but there might be other changes, screen possibly?
-
I think the 6Gb version is defo worth waiting for. I have the 3gb 870m version and in next gen console ports that's often met. Going forward the extra vram will allow for ultra settings on textures rather than a performance increase.
-
I am still wondering, are we going to get a - GS 60 with 3k and a 970M with 6gb VRAM - ?
-
Awesome! Do you know what model that would be? the closest one I can find is the 046
-
We'll just have to wait. I'm guessing November and defo in time for Christmas
-
Where did you get the Windows 8.1 oem iso for a clean install? If not allowed to share here please pm me. Not trying anything illegal, just got my GS60 today as well and want to do a clean install. All the bloat is quite annoying!
-
Hey, the laptop does not come with the Windows installer CD?
Does this means we need to purchase another Windows license if I were to reinstall?
Thanks -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
The Windows key is embedded in the BIOS which Windows will know where to get it should you reinstall. -

You can generate the recovery discs using MSI BurnRecovery utility located on the desktop.
Guide (It's for Win7 but should be similar with Win8). -
Just wondering, are there any slim power bricks (compared to the stock brick) that are available for the GS60? I'm aware that Razer sells their 150W Blade brick for a crazy $130.
Call me lazy/spoiled but I'd prefer to have a brick to keep in my backpack and a dedicated brick to keep plugged in at home. That way I don't run into the dilemma of forgetting my brick at home and/or debating whether or not I should go through the trouble of taking my brick with my to campus.Reks likes this. -
Does this 970m version of GS60 use hybrid power when extreme gaming on ultra mode?
What is the power rating of the brick that comes with it 150 W or 180 W? -
From what I understand, it comes with a 150W brick. And, supposedly, benchmarks have shown the laptop to draw over 150W under maximum stress. Some users ITT have said that they tried their GS60s with other 180W cards and didn't notice any difference.

Guys, i have some questions about all this rush around 6gb vram laptops
Why do you actually want 6gb?
if you go for a 1080p version i think 3gb is sufficient enough for everything, only watch dogs ask for a 3 gb of vram at ultra settings, while all other games do not even require so much
And what do you know about the 1080p screen? is it ips, response time, quality?Maybe i should go for 3k?
I am going to play cs go mostly on it, is this screen fast enough? -
Sen7inel was nice enough to modify my ECC fan profile similar to what he did with the 870M version. This will lower the idle CPU fan to around 2750rpm and will increase the maximum fan speed for the gpu to aid in cooling. Use the ECC flash tool from MSI's website for your model and replace the .504 file with the one attached. Then flash the file, do a full shutdown, unplug power, use a pin to push the reset button on the right side, plug ac power back in and reboot. You can also use Mardon's tweak thread for a reference for directions: http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi/761608-msi-gs60-ghost-tweak-information.html#post9776930

No voiding of warranty right?
-
Good questions!
I had the 1080p msi gs60 for a while, and returned it. I got the Samsung PLS panel, and I might just have been unlucky or a defect panel, but it has horrible for gaming. Ghosting and motion blur reminded me of a VA panel.
Considering the 3k version as well, hopefully it's better. So much info available about color accuracy and all that static stuff, very limited info on response time (25-30ms rise + fall best guess). -
Do others have different model of screen on the 1080p version?
-
The 1080p issue is interesting as the FHD screen is outstanding on the 870m versions and in all the reviews gets very good comments.
-
Yes, I believe there are a couple of variants...
-
What's your screen model number?
-
! Finally FHD models come to Europe...
MSI GS60 2QE-098CZ Ghost Pro, Äerná | CZC.cz
LoL there's just 50€ difference between FHD and 3K -_-
I was hoping for at least 100-150€ difference
-
Well, pls sucks
i've heard it uses ips screen, and read lots of rave reviews about 1080p version, and some guys told me that on 3k you have 45hz rate, due to high resolution, dunno if it is true or not
Anyway, what about 6gb vram version. why are you all so keen on it? -
This laptop looks promising!
-
Well I am not keen on that 6GB version ... but the others wants it just because it's more future proof if you wont change laptop in 2-4years
-
I am keen on it and just about to order.... but first want to confirm the model number of the IPS good quality screen so I can tell the guys at gentech pc to check it
-
No clue. You can always flash the old one though
-
Order what? FHD + 6GB?
